I bought a bottle of Engine Restorer for my Acura V6 because i was losing compression in cylinder 4, so I decided to put it up for the test!! I did the first compression test at 6 miles after emptying the whole bottle in. It ended up misfiring again from cylinder 4 after a few miles later, however i did see an increase from 120psi to 165psi after driving it 108 miles..thats an increase of 45psi !!LMK YOUR OPINION & WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS PRODUCT. WOULD YOU USE THIS ??

Put this in a cheap beater car I bought that was headed to the junk yard. Previous owner changed the oil 1 time in 5 years and about 60k miles. It burned oil badly. After months of seafoam and MMO along with high detergent oil and low mile changes it seemed to have cleaned the engine some. Still burned a lot of oil so next I figured what do I have to lose. Dumped in about 2/3 bottle of restore additive (it's got vvt so wanted to not clog up the screens hopefully). Within about half hour of running/driving the burning oil decreased significantly.

Just wanted to update.oil consumption hasn't improved anymore then it did within the first hour or so but it's not getting worse either. I have since changed the oil and am now running the remainder of the bottle along with shell formula oi and a wix filter. Consumption is about a quart in 800 miles. Before was about 400 miles for a quart.

Another update. I am about 300 miles in on the oil change. Oil is still at "max". Seems oil consumption has went down more. I can't say it's from this additive alone. It could also be caused by the cleaning of the decent oil as well.i am thinking my issue was caused by gummed up rings.

Hey everyone i just wanted to share this with you all !! I talked to the manufactures of this product directly and they told me do NOT use this if your vehicle has VVT Valve Timing system in it. It will clog everything up and it wont be good! So make sure you check that first before you use this product! If it doesnt have a VVT system your good. Other systems like Hydraulic valve lifters and stainless steal shims are ok. According to Scotty Kilmer. So yeah, hope that helps! Your manufacturer of your vehicle can help you if you give them your VIN number. They can tell you for sure if it has VVT . CHeers!

This is the best comment here, RESTORE IS NOT RECOMMENDED IN VTECT ENGINES like the one being shown which has VTEC, in RESTOREs website they specifically list VTEC and IVTEC engines in their do not use section. Glad i saw this comment before i used it, thank you! Below is the comment from their website.
WHAT OTHER ENGINES CANNOT USE RESTORE ENGINE RESTORER?
Engine Restorer should not be used in any engine using engine oil as a hydraulic fluid, pumping it at high pressure to regulate or actuate other engine functions. The HEUI diesel engine is one of these. Although rare in the UK, HEUI engines are found in Ford Power Stroke and Navistar engines, some International and Caterpillar brand truck engines and some Isuzu Troopers (4JX1 engines). A HEUI engine is a high efficiency diesel engine where the injectors operate off engine oil pumped at high pressure - DO NOT USE RESTORE IN THIS ENGINE. A HEUI engine has two oil filters. If you are in any doubt as to whether yours is a HEUI engine, please ask your dealer before using RESTORE or call our technical helpline on 01728 726620
Many later model VVT engines such as BMW VANOS or Valvetronic engines, including the BMW/PSA Prince 1.4L and 1.6L petrol engines used in the BMW Mini and some Citroen and Peugeot cars, Subaru AVCS and AVLS, Honda VTec and iVTec, Fiat MultiAir, Fiat 500 (2007 onwards), Toyota VVTi and VVTL-I engines, GM Active Fuel Management engines (fitted in some Chevrolet trucks but rare in the UK), and others, too many to list here, use engine oil pressure to actuate or regulate camshaft positioning and valve timings. These engines rely heavily on clean oil of the correct viscosity as specified in the vehicle handbook and do not tolerate particles in the oil. Degraded, dirty engine oil containing sludge and swarf engine metal can cause the oil viscosity to go outside a narrow range programmed into the ECM; sensors detect the change in viscosity and trigger an engine management code, engine light and cause the engine to run erratically. For this reason, we DO NOT recommend adding RESTORE to the engine oil in any engine utilizing high pressure oil to regulate or actuate other engine functions. Please call our technical helpline on 01728 726620 for further information on how to treat these engines.
The modern Fiat 500 engines also react to the addition of RESTORE Engine Restorer to the engine oil and should not be treated with RESTORE.

The P0304 series usually implies a bad ignition coil. On newer cars, coils are often located at the end of the spark plug wire where it connects to the spark plug. On older cars the coils are located on the side of the engine and often control more than one cylinder. Also, it is not uncommon that when one coil misfires you will get codes thrown for additional coils. Best easy thing to do is to buy one coil, and systematically swap it out at each plug. You should notice a discernible improvement in your engine when you have found the bad coil. If this solves your problem, I recommend you buy all new coils because the others will probably begin to fail as well.
