@@Eddycheeeeit genuinely is like a different drink.. the 1901 bottle is so crisp and refreshing. Doesn’t leave that nasty fake sugar film on your tongue haha
@@EddycheeeeI introduced my son to your channel last night (He's down from Leeds Uni for Easter break) and we watched the last Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and Still Game 'Buntin' that you reacted too. @@Eddycheeee No worries. Neither of us are P.C. or 'woke'. So it's good to see reactors who aren't P.C. and just like a laugh. And I was brought up on 70's and 80's comedy. I'm from Falkirk, there is a sign 1 minute from my house tells you that A.G. Barr started his soft drink company at that spot, it grew and grew and he moved, I could tell you loads about its history, its court battles with Coca Cola, everything, EXCEPT what flavour it is, "Sparkling flavour" is what is written on the can/bottle wt flavour is "sparkling"? One of the best kept secrets in the world.
When they changed the flavour because of the UK sugar tax, and still had the cheek to call it 'original' I have boycotted IrnBru ever since! Used to spend like £15-£20 a week on Irn Bru xD Glad I dont drink it, or any other soft drink now. One thing I would say, pour it into a glass always. WITH ice.
It was the Scottish sugar tax, it wasn't a UK wide thing, the SNP done it, it was round about the same time as they added the 50p per unit minimum pricing for alcohol.
@@RighAlban England introduced the sugar tax first. It was announced in March 2016 and came into effect in April 2018 as part of the government's strategy to tackle childhood obesity. Scotland followed suit, announcing its intention to introduce a similar tax in May 2018, which came into effect in May 2018.
You NEED to have the 1901 version in a glass bottle and make sure to cool it overnight in the fridge so it’s nice and cold. The one you tried Isn’t the classic recipe that we all love in Scotland it’s the version that got changed thanks to the moron Jamie Oliver helping to introduce the sugar tax. Barrs then had to use cheaper horrible sweeteners which ruined the classic recipe. Fortunately they released it again as the 1901 version.
Glad I/we didn't steer you wrong with the Irn Bru! I might have to get a can for myself now ....! For a bit of fun go look up a few of the old adverts (easily found on CZcams), with the drink being 'made from girders'.
It's the artifical sweeteners that make it taste so sweet - the 1901 recipe just uses sugar, which is sweet - but in a more natural and less overpowering way. It's hard to say where you might get it, as all manner of Scottish products are really hard to get hold of south of Carlisle! Possibly somewhere like Poundland, or B&M Bargains? Iceland Food Warehouse is another possibility. Or failing all else, get your arse up to Scotland!!
Hi Eddy...Scotland here love your channel😊 i'm a coca.cola fan..not into Iron Bru...my daughter says i'm a traitor 😂 !!. Did your girlfriend have a good time in New York ❤
"What the fook is that?" Glug glug glug glug. 😂
It’s best in glass bottles the 1901 is the original recipe before they took the sugar out and replaced with artificial sweeteners
Can't wait to try the glass bottle
@@Eddycheeee Make sure you get some Barr's Limeade too...!

Remember seeing Big Show try Bru for the first time. He hated it but continued to drink it.
You should get a po box. I would love to send you a lot of Scottish snacks from Edinburgh.
There’s a limited edition raspberry ripple in cans out at the moment. Comes in a multipack. Think Tesco in England has it.
Here in South London we love Irn Bru , have the ice cream here but havent tried it yet.

My local Woolworths sells it here in Australia, I actually like it!
It's around 1 pound 80 in the can.
B&M bargains sell 1901 in cans and sometimes glass bottles👍🏻

Dude you live not far from me, I’m in the West Midlands but not Birmingham, although I did live there a number of years ago.
Irn Bru Special is sugar free and still tastes good according to my ancient taste buds
Sugar is bad but aspartame in the special is far more dangerous to your health.
I prefer Haggisade.😂
Might have closed for Ramadan?
If any of you like Vodka try Irn Bru in your vodka it's lovely. And I don't even like Vodka that much But it's nice with Irn Bru. 🥃
