    Nice vid. I'll just add that I just got a denon 2300x which is a 5.2.2 atmos capable (or plain 7.2) and on boot up for the very first time it walked you thru every set up of hooking the speakers up and assigning the amp to your height speakers to running audyssy. It was pretty slick and impressive.
    Also I picked up roger waters the wall blu ray this week since I read It was a great atmos track and they were right. The entire thing blew me away. From audio to visuals. If you like The Wall at all from Pink Floyd it's worth a buy. (There are some melodramatic interludes with roger waters but they do go with the flow).

    Nice vid! I have a 7.2.2 setup with my X4300h and love it. What I did differently was set my crossover to 80hz for all of my speakers per the suggestion from Audioholics. Anxious to see what surrounds you get and if you're going for an additional amp.

    • @TechnoDad
      @TechnoDad  Před 7 lety

      Hi Dennis! I have had my crossover at 80 for all my speakers as well, that's the THX standard. I may go back to that, but I'm not sure. I will be receiving the Klipsch RP-250S today and making a video on the difference between monopole (bookshelf) and bipole (RP-250S) for surround sound speakers. I actually just spoke with the people at Emotiva about adding an amp to my setup. They say most people upgrade the amps for the front sound stage and let their AVR handle surrounds and Atmos speakers. I sent him the speaker models RP-280Fs and RP-250C and he said they are pretty hefty speakers and I could use a 3 channel version of the XPA Gen3 which would output 275 Watts RMS per channel. I thought that was a bit much, but he said it would drastically change the sound and punch in my system. On the other hand, people in the Klipsch group on Facebook, they recommend adding a second sub before I add an amp. So I'm more confused now! Hahaha!

    QQ - great video btw. My front speakers are connected to a separate amplifier - I use the Front L and R Preamp out , directly into the Inputs on the Amp (2 ch Crown - 330w/4ohm to each side - powering Polk Audio LSI25's). For some reason, no matter which Amp Assign I select, I keep getting MONO out of the preamps? I can tell because when I run test tones, When Front L is highlighted, Im getting sound from both front speakers. Ive double checked many times, everything is connected correctly. Also it seems that the terminal config never even highlights the preamp section as an "active" pre out. My guess is AMP assign needs to be changed to utilize those preamps. I think its treating it as a line out right now. I dont have any "theater bypass" inputs on this amp either. My previous AVR was a Denon AVR3805 - this handled the left and right preouts perfectly. Obviously things have changed a lot over the years. I have been trying to get this to work for the last month to no avail. Any ideas?

    Hi. Great video. I just bought the Denon AVRX4700H. In the manual I don't see a connection configuration that will represent the speakers I have to connect to it. There will 5 floor speakers (FR, FL, C, SR, SL, plus 2 Dolby enabled FHR, FHL (assume connect to Height 1) but I also want to Bi-Amp the Front Klipsch 8060's, and would likely use the Height 2 connections for that. They have 7.1 channel:Bi-Amp Connection of Front Speakers in the manual, but in that configuration they show an SBR and SBL which I do not have. When I hook up all the speaker wires and run Audyssey, will it figure out the correct configuration to ASSIGN? Thank you in advance for any replies.

    Hi great video question please if you don’t mind. I just finished setting up my home theater and I’m first running a Sony A90J 65 inch OLED, my question is I’m using a Denon 3700h receiver with two Klipsch RP-800F’S front speakers and two R-41sa’s as the height speakers which are mounted to the wall on each side of the tv cause I didn’t like when you place them on top of the floor speakers and aim it at the ceiling to get the overhead affect. I also have two Klipsch RP-600m bookshelf speakers on stands as the rear and I’m using the tv as the center channel until I get dedicated center speaker, there is a 10 inch woofer as well. Now the entire setup uses hard wired connections and I just bought two Denon 150 home wireless speakers and I would like to use them as rear height speakers to make it a 7.1 but so far I’m not seeing a way in the Denon setup to add two wireless speakers it only gives options for connecting more wired speakers. So is it possible to do this? Thank you so much

    Please help i have spent quite a bit and i dont understand. I have a denon X1700h that is 8ohms and i have 2 6ohms speakers. My 1 year old removed a binding post from 1 speaker so i have only been using 1 speaker. Today i got flashing red light and i have removed all wires and its been off for a few hours but still got red flashing light. It is still under guarantee so i can return but would you know why this could happen and if i can get an amp for this reciever ? Because i want to get 4ohm speakers

    Do you have any idea how to get MacOS's "Audio MIDI Setup" to recognize all 13 channels and send audio to them?? It seems stuck at 7.1 or 5.1.2 MAXIMUM. My Odroid sends Atmos to the Denon AVR Just Fine By Default.

    Hello, I always follow your channel ... you are like an encyclopedia of technology ... always with answers to my questions ...
    my questions is I have a marantz Av 7705 (preamp) + a monolith 11X amp .. when you choose in denon the Dolby S function, that function does not appear to me in the marantz AV 7705 only 4 channel high.. not like your denon says hight, dolby s minute 4:06 ..in marantz the high speakers work as atmos? why on the screen of AV 7705 it says Dolby Atmos ,, but the immersive sound is not felt, nor detailed ..? I have a 7.2.4 klipsch system ... please wait for your answer..thanks

    • @ulrichwilsenach4411
      @ulrichwilsenach4411 Před 2 lety

      Look at your speaker specifications. If they can go from day 60 Hz up then set the crossovers 10 to 20Hz higher. This will then push the lower frequencies away from those speakers to your sub, meaning less distortion and more accurate sound. I'd uncertain, set all to 80Hz

    Great video! 2 questions, should I get the Denon home cinema sound bar set and the LG OLEDC7p (which has standard built in speakers) or get the LG OLEDE7p (which has the Dolby sound bar built one) and get a receiver later with good speakers? If so, which system you suggest?

    • @TechnoDad
      @TechnoDad  Před 6 lety

      +Rodney Johnson Hi! I have the LG E6 from last year, and I still use my surround sound system. The built in one is good but once my wife starts cooking, you can't hear all that well. I always suggest to get a good soundbar or step up into a surround sound system. If space is an issue try out some soundbars. Also, the price difference in the C7 and E7 is significant. Hi techno dad,, pls i need your advice,, i have the denon 6400 and im runing 7.1, front and center are : defintive tech b9060,,and def.tech dolby surround a90 and the surround also def.tech 9040, and subwoofer harman kardon, i seted up my conf,as 11.1 so all the 11 amps be in my main zone,,i turned off zone2 and 3 coz i dont need them, but here is my question, b4 i ran the auddesey and my conf speakers for def for main and center are LARGE. the surround and dolby atmos front surround are small..after the audesey finished it turned my main and center to small! So why if you have any idea my friend,, and 1 more thing,, before i include the harman kardon sub,, i made a audesey onky formthe def.tech speakers and it seted it up as large for main and center,,and i was running the inter sub in the def.tech without conntectingnit to my avr,,but once i changed thr config to 1 spkr harmon it turend my speakers small,,and for the cross over i made it all 80 hz,,so is 80 for all ofmthem as small speakers ok or is it wrong and might effect my speakers,,also why do you think auddesey consider the main and center as small not large?
    Thank you and pls forgive me for any mistakes

    Hi just watched your video great information I followed your steps about amp assign on my denon avr x4300h once I set mine to a set of 4 up firing Dolby atmos speakers I set the crossovers then went onto distances and noticed it says Dolby speaker setup I clicked that and then you have to measure the distance between the top of the up firing speaker and the ceiling
    Then I did the audyssey calibration and after that checked to make sure none of the settings had changed after doing all this the overall sound including atmos is a lot better
    I thought you could put this on your CZcams channel as it may help someone

      +Robert Adlem Hi Robert! Thank you for sharing your experience with the up-firing Atmos modules. As I don't have them, I can't comment. I always say it's good to do an calibration whenever you change Speakers or locations. I'll put that in the next Atmos setup video I create!
      When I listen to music I go in and turn everything off except my towers and run them full range. Trying to make sure I get all he juice of the my Denon that I can!
