Is there a hidden selector for choosing between 4K: Standard or 4K: Enhanced on a Denon X6700H or Marantz SR8015 as is on my Onkyo TX-NR787. Because I’m in the process of returning the Denon because the video appeared soft on my Sony XBR65X950G which wasn’t present with the Onkyo. I have the Dolby Atmos App through my Microsoft Store and have my tower hardwired to my ONKYO Atmos 5.1.2 Receiver. I truly wish that CZcams would allow steaming in Atmos audio...

I used the saved/exported filters from Android True Target(MBs) and sent via email to laptop. For whatever reason when I imported the filters into Audyssey MultEQ-X it says "The Import of 0 supported EQ items was successful"? I had ran/saved previously the MultEQ-X and picked up where you imported the saved files from MBs, but don't understand why its not importing anything? AVR(Denon AVR-X4300H) is on the list of AVRs and is connected, but am missing something... Everything you've done, I was able to do. I can see the physical text files for the filters...

I understand why you did in the video: no Audyssey stuff was run on Channa's system; no EQ was placed on his speakers when True Target was run. But what if the Magic Beans True Target app was recording near field on speakers that did have Audyssey filtering EQ curves applied to them? Since that EQ was coming out during the recording, wouldn't one want to include those filtering curves that produced the original sound signature? Then True Target's EQs imported to "lay on top" of what was there to begin with. In this case, would we "Include Position"? Or... at 6:52 were you going to completely turn off all Audyssey stuff to begin with, to have no filtering EQ on the speakers during your upcoming near field recording? *Should we ALWAYS turn off Audyssey / other EQ before using True Target? I received my LX-505 today. It replaced a Yamaha RX-A1080 Aventage receiver. So far, the Pioneer has impressed. Its interface. App, and more. Compared to my Yammy that was released in 2018, the Pioneer is superior in every way so far. Funny thing is, the Pioneer weighs less but has higher power. Onto the receiver, I have never owned one that supports Dirac. So it gave me an opportunity to compare the audio quality of Dirac vs YPAO as my speakers did not change. I have a fairly simple 7.1.2 layout with mostly Klipsch speakers. I did the "quick", 3 position calibration, and immediately after I threw on a simple streaming show I like and I could tell instantly the audio sounded much better. The dialog, separation, sound stage, and more, was noticeably superior. For those of you that have never used Dirac, you can use their app on your phone. Place the microphone in your listening area, and you can walk to another room while Dirac is doing its thing. I had to return to reposition the mic but other than that, plant mic, leave room, hit next and Dirac runs. Simple and sweet. But one thing I dislike, in agreement with others, is how the receiver won't keep the sound decoding format on the display. I hope a firmware update fixes that. You can press the "info" button to see a summary, but I like having that stay on the display rather than only the source. If I don't have the right source then it's my problem. I'd much rather see the decoding format. But still, I am very impressed. I swapped this for the Yamaha because I feel Yamaha's are tuned more brightly, favoring music over movie soundtracks, and I watch movies much more than I care about music. I don't like YPAO, and now even more so. And I don't care for Yamaha's interface. It's in need of an update. I was strongly considering a Denon and had about pulled the trigger on one until I saw Techno Dad's and Andrew Robinson's stellar reviews of the VSX-LX505/305. The Pioneer isn't as bright, and I agree it has a more "earthy" sounding tuning to it. It will take more time for me to fully evaluate their differences but so far, yes, impressed. I got a killer deal on the 505. I don't think it's worth $1500 LOL. But I got it for much less, new. Thank you Techno Dad for sharing this amazing receiver with us.

Do I still want the front heights on the wall even though my mains are pulled out 3 feet from the wall? That would place the heights behind the mains. Shouldn’t the front heights be ceiling speakers placed in line with the mains?

Channa should we be placing the height speakers within the boundaries of the screen size? I have a 100” screen. So place them at the edge of my screen like my mains or should the heights be placed at the corners of the room?

you forget 5.1 is the bed layer for atmos atmos dose not need hights i only 5.1 with both atmos and dtsx

I went straight to the lounge put in Top Gun Maverick with Atmos with the volume down and went through and turned this off. If someone can give me the reasoning for this option and others to only come up when an Atmos source is actually playing I would love to know! It seems insane to me that such an important setting would not only be on by default, But there should be somewhere in bold letters for every new user of an amp with this software to see! Thanks to you and your guest I’ve fixed this problem and holy cow the difference! Not just in volume but also how controlled smooth balanced and more dynamic the whole system sounds now! Watched this today for the first time. WOW. My 7.1 went to work!

The vault is great - until it fails. Then Bluesound has one answer. Buy a new one. WTF!! I'm serious. I have the emails. I now own a very expensive brick. Mine failed to properly download and install an update. At that point it was useless. BS support was useless. The firmware update was not interrupted. They hound the daylights out of you to install the updates, most of which seem to do nothing.

I liked the 10 but I missed some detail and refiness for orchestral music. Will those have this? And does it still sound like a source point since it isn't one anymore?

I agree with this. I find my 45 degree ceiling atmos speakers disconnected from the movie. I have a 7.2.2 The 2 atmos speakers are angled in-ceiling and at 45 degrees. Should I move them over the front L&R? Or replace them with on wall heights which would end up behind the front L&R since the front L&R are pulled 2-3 feet from front wall?

I don't get it. Magic Beans is designing a target curve, but I have a "target" sound in mind that I want my system to get as close to as possible. That's MY target--the sound I want. What makes the Magic Beans target better than mine? Magic Beans looks like a great way to make the filters, but the filters are to make my system sound as close to possible to what True Target thinks my target should be?

So would you say that the speaker layout for Dolby Atmos should be closer to Auro3D with speaker placement in corners facing down at 45°? Should they also be angled towards the listening position on the sidewalls and corners? Would like your input on that. I've been mulling over my Heights for a while now and looking for advice on where to put them and how best to proceed.
