@@Him18097 I got the 21 last week. Drove it 700 miles in 4 days. Absolutely perfect. The stiffness everyone mentions isn't as harsh as they make it seem.
I’d say I’m definitely getting a slightly used 2020 X3 M Competition with less than 30K miles. Stage 1 is really all you need.
New M4 going to be a beast especially with the new 1st AWD system on a 3 and 4 Series M product
that and better aerodynamics - lighter weight - weight distribution - power delivery , basically going to be a beast.

The stock launch control system definitely aint having it with a 640whp launch lol. Brake boost and peg it
These motors put out a crap ton of torque when tuned. The zf8 transmission does have issues coping with it and can stutter or purposely delay upshifting as the means to protect itself from damage. I believe in addition to the engine tune, the transmission itself would need to be retuned to sync up with the new torque delivery characteristics of the tuned motor. The issue is that very few tuners know how to hack into the transmissions' ECU. Most of these cars with tuned engines but stock transmission tuning are going to have these types of issues.
@@edwint1780 There is a tuned RS6 that needs its torque to be downtuned. Apparently, the initial remap destroyed the transmission of the RS6. As a result, they had to replace the transmission. I think it was presented on Carwow.

The S58 is epic for tuning if you can get in fast enough before BOSCH completely locks down the ECU! Also the engine is frustrating too - from a dig it's impossible to launch well without using LC and building boost for at least 2 secs.

I like these license plate frames you’ve put on the cars. The numbers were definitely close and I saw the GT R was finishing at a faster speed due to the aerodynamics. Nice aerial shots, and the sound of the S58 made me a bit happier. It sounds way more pure than the raspy af S55. Nice vid man, cheers 🍻

Stock 21" wheels or swap over to non-Competition trim 20 inchers?
@@Mattryanfisher running on stock 21, had to swap from original continental tires (garbage) to pilot 4s. I think 20’s would be even better

My b58 with a Vargas turbo running on E30 pulled a new M5 comp several times today. Looks like a stage 2 s58 is equal to a stage 3 b58.
Low 8 second SUV with just a tune and downpipes? This world has gone mad. Good chance it would walk a stock R35 from a standstill too if it doesn't muff up the launch.

Loving my m40i with a stage 2 tune..doing 0-60 in less than 4 seconds..I purchased the m40i for the same reason I got the GTR R35, plenty of bang for the buck

Why do tuning vs. Stock?
I have a 2018 M3 with Competition and M Performance packages with a 6-spd. I think the F80 looks so much better than the G80, but the difference in performance is going to be significant with the S58. I'm torn between keeping the YMB F80 or getting a new G80 that with a tune will be unbelievably fast. I'm just not sure the looks can justify the performance. Maybe the best route is to go with an X3M Comp instead.

The x3 m competition just makes people regret who didn’t buy this car it’s just great. Now the Amg is a fast stock car but the Amg has more top end.
The asphalt looked damp, which is probably why the X3M won the first race. Good video.
I don't think that's the real reason. The lower speed starts are in favor of the BMW. The Mercedes is the faster car because of the aero up top. Remember the bmw is brick going through air. That benz is a true super car that cuts the air easier. That is also why from a dig the bmw will crush it at that power level through the quarter. Extend the race to half mile or mile and the benz starts to come back.
All the hype for the s58, which of course is a great motor, but come on with the amg m178 man. You can get a C63 for the same price as a m3. It has the 4l twin turbo v8, and doesnt look ugly as sin. This motor also can push a lot more boost with a tune and downpipes just like the s58.
The real bmw bargain power motor is the new b58, which will be in all the leased msport models and probably had for cheap in a couple years once they're on the third owner. Or, if you're poor like me, the n54. My next motor for sure if I don't go ls v8.
The s58 is significantly stronger internally and has better valve train then the b58 that being said both are great motors. As for the amg I strongly disagree, hot v turbo motors are costly and generate massive heat, BMW and Mercedes have identical issues with hot v turbo 8 cylinder's. There are two upsides to a hot v one being faster spooling turbos the other is packaging and manufacturing cost.
AMG definitely had him up top. Probably was spinning cuz of the low speeds where the X3M got the jump on him.
The GT-R pulls like crazy after 100mph. I noticed that in all 1/2 mile races.
next time when launch control fails just do the drag without launch on both :))
Raced a x3m in my 770 rwhp mustang, I was impressed with how well it kept up. Only was like 4-5 cars ahead at ~150 starting at ~50. Must not have been a stock one. I do 5.5 60-130 on average, my best is 5.09 though in good weather. (vid on my channel if you want to check it out)
What an anti-climatic but realistic third race. Getting into launch control is sometimes the biggest hassle and culprit of losing a race in the heat of the moment. And especially when you're tuned, it tends to give more issues.
We need Amg gtr pro vs m8 competition please
Pro might be even slower than the GTR. They have everything same except the Pro has a diff race manually adjustable race suspension + more downforce. Pro is def faster around a track, but in these drags - idk

But usually a stage 2 E30 will give you 757 hop and 95 torque, I don’t know how this one was only 700 and being a stage 2 something does not add up, I have seen an x3M competition 825 psi and 100+ torque but that one was a stage 3
maybe a softer tune. A few of these things have been doing 10.4/10.5 in the 1/4 and low 7's 60-130 stock turbo. really an amazing car

A good friend of mine has a tuned amg with very little spent it has taken the car to a completely different level so the while this shows how quick that x3 can be when tuned it does not show the reality of how much faster the amg is when it is also tuned.

I think you should have kept trying from a dig until the driver was able to execute launch control. THis isn't NHRA drag racing, people want to see which one is faster or handles better etc.
The 2nd race from the start was not even. The GTR had a lead from the start and carried it through to win the race. Should have started even.
Please just tune that gtr and lets see it get to the 6 sec 60-130mph 👌🏻
