  • We got this mixer lift on sale at Lee Valley quite some time ago and we were ready to install it. It didn’t come with directions and it was marked down to half off. GJ had to tighten a rivet to make sure it wasn’t wobbly and it was ready to install. I found the directions online and we went to town. Our mixer is 17” and the lift says for appliances 16” or less. So we lowered it a little over an inch to start. We ended up lowering it two more times before we could get the mixer to clear the countertop support. GJ came up with a really interesting way to install the springs that I bet Lee Valley never thought of. I wish it would have came with clear direction for installing the springs because it was impossible to do just by hand.
I cannot wait to get the kitchen finished and be able to reveal it to all of you.

Thank you the trick with the spring! I used pennies. It worked great! The Lee Valley instructions totally leave out the spring attachment. I would never have been able to install without the help of your video!

How's the kitchen coming along? Would definitely be interested is seeing your mixer lift again.

I love that mixer lift. During COVID I made bread at least twice a week with that mixer. Now I have a red one, it looks so good. And the lift makes it so easy.

can you add a followup vid showing the shelf in actual use? and your thoughts on if it is worth while? I am wondering if it will hold up in use, especial for mixing bread and what-not

This will be coming soon. Since Covid hit I have been working at home with 3 kids homeschooling while hubby is starting a new job, from home right now, and I have been making bread once or twice a week with my mixer. It is definitely worth it!

I'm custom building a set of oak cabinets. I'm using Revashelf mixer lift for that project. They are the best made. All assembled and everything you need in the kit. Your mixer lift is sitting too low. Should be raised so it's closer with top.

If I raise it any higher the mixer won't fit inside, we lowered it twice to get it to fit. It just clears it now going in and out.

We have exactly the same mixer... 16.5" tall and 10.5" wide. Exactly how far down is the top bracket from plywood cross bar you needed to clear? It looks like you got the perfect height. We are installing below a drawer so I also need to ensure we have enough height in the cabinet.

This lift is from Lee Valley so it will depend on what type you have. Our screws are 5” below the face frame of the cabinet. Not gonna lie we had three attempts to put it in so under the brackets are screw holes not used. The mixer just clears the counter if it is pulled out to the front of the shelf. I would put it a half inch lower next time.

Seems kind of flimsy for what they cost.

No it isn’t flimsy, it is quite sturdy. I use my mixer 2-3 times a week and the lift works great. Just no good directions to install it and the springs are impossible to stretch by hand.
