You need to get out more often.
My life has been forever changed after watching this inspirational video. Before I watched it I was a 39 year old man who still lived in his childhood bedroom. But after watching this it gave me the inner strength to pack my stuff and move to the basement. There is so much more room for activities down there. Thanks Potato Slicer Can dude!
Kudos.....hope your new potato slice life is superior!
Dude...
Haaahaaa😂 I thought you were going to say you were 39 and aged to 60 by the end , Haaahaaa , deep basement inspiration 😅 awesome 👌

@@tjgentry8296 thanks for keeping things Real !
Love the hilarious comments!! And the engineering was very cool and appeals to my geeky nature
I must really hate my life to be stuck here watching this 😂
This must be the End of the World, Apocalyptic Sud Mangler that we forgot to buy before it all went down...LMAO 😂.
The end of all things... except spiral cut potatoes.
Just bored shit less lol
@@joesmith2505did you mean Spud mangler😅😂?
Me too !
I'm sure you're correct. What's really sad is your need to mention it.
Guests at dinner party: "These potatoes are delicious! How did you make them?"
Host: "Well, first I got me a complete tool shop and then I..."
🤣🤣🤣
Beginning to sound like a Seinfeld subplot...
Clearly the breakthrought humanity has been waiting for. Nothing will ever be the same.
I'm waiting for NASA to insist on installing this in all their future Space Programs Vehicles. The astronauts will be so pleased.
😂

After this, world peace is assured.
Flexible potatoes.
I never fully realized what an unfulfilled life I had until I spent 16 hours building this and while rotating the last part of the potato sliced off the end of my index finger and thumb. Now I have encountered complete satisfaction of life.
You ok man? Finger alright? I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or serious.
I love your sarcasm and the use of insulting without insulting, 👍
sarcasm was earned on this one ! best wishes @@richardhurwitz2798
🤣
lolol. Dont laugh I did that with a leaf mulcher last fall, ouch...caught all 3 blades and broke 3 places, now I have half a fingernail too.
No doubt the only one of these ever made.
How do I always fall for these videos 😢
I just filed a patent for this idea, appreciate it!
I am going to make these and give them as wedding presents
Boy are you going to be popular. Ron, the giver of tin can gifts.
I’m sure glad we’re not friends!😮
🤣🤣🤣
I dont need spiral cut taters this badly. Btw....are you on meth?
@ronburine1008 TOO FUNNY! Tanks! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awesome...TIP, they have tin can openers now that leave all the edges smooth to the touch, no extra work in smoothing and no cuts!!
I was standing out on the ledge of a bridge ready to jump when the police negotiator ruled up a large TV and showed me this video. I never realized how much I had to live for
FUNny 😂.
Had to pee.
😂😂😂😂
Tks for the laugh…your comment is too funny!!!!!!!!!!!!👵🏻…………but you have to admit he was creative in his project……I’ll give him that…
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I used mine with a string to call my neighbor. 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Too funny!🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
This video gets the Guinness record on the number of expensive, high powered tools needed for a single tin can while not affording a descent can opener 😊
😂
What's wrong with the can opener?
Funny... but true.
you perfectly articulated the cognitive dissonance i experienced one will experience watching this. If tovthe conclusion, you may want to seek counseling
@@joe9092410767 ha hahaha 😂
Someone said it is a cheap project? Hmmm, $9.95 for long bolt, screws, nuts, and washers, $1.79 can of peaches, $2.25 coke, $5.95 for razor blade cutter, $49.95 heat gun, $75.50 power drill, and a couple of other things. This compared to a spiral slicer at Walmart for less than $20. No, it is not a cheap way to do it!
Agreed. Buying one for 10 dollars is the cheap way
Plus, not 3". More like 30"
@@jakej9779 Minutes denoted by ' 3" = 3 inches.
Sadly the message was lost on you.
Ever heard the Stone soup story.
Missus would love that lovley looking thing in the kitchen cupboard 😂
The hard part is getting hold of a can of Russian pineapple chunks and a Kvass bottle.
Well, that's five minutes of my life I'll never get back?!
Sunriseboy. 😂😁😀👍
I was literally going to post exactly the same!
Was it only 5 minutes? Seemed longer...
Whenever I see the words brilliant or genius I skip straight to the last 30 seconds. About 1% of the time it’s actually worth going back and watching the video.
And here's me thinking it was going to be a starting handle for a Moggy 1000 & it turned out to be a spud slicer .😂😅 Wallace & Gromit would have been proud of you 👏 😊
love the can jumping out of the trash back into the hand!
Genius.
Next week, a home made motorbike ashtray..
The money you saved on the ancient can opener, allowed you to buy the drill and the heat gun and at least one bottle of soda and one can of whatever the hell that was. Good job dude.
Pineapple chunks.
@@hagerty1952 thanks I really wasn't that concerned. But I appreciate your attention to detail.

Now he can. 1M views is good for at least 1000 USD.
Without a doubt, the LONGEST 3 minutes of my life...
Thank Goodness For Speed framing vids to save TIME!!!
@@NomadcreationsFor sure. Now, if he would leave out 90% of the details of smoothing out the edge of the tin can and 90% of most of the rest of it. This project could have taken 1 minute and 30 seconds = 90 seconds.
There is a much simpler way to do this with a kitchen tool invented by a chef back in the early 50s. A long 'screw-like' center piece with a blade attached to it with a handle that is does exactly the same thing that is simply 'screwed' into the potato. If you cut through on side the finished string of potatoes to the center you also get another presentation of potatoes. I still have one of them and it works great.
an apple peeler does this too
Well hell I didn’t know a tin can could jump out of a trash can ether 👍
I don't know… I mean… At least if he had made it into a tin can telephone, we could have heard him say something! 🙂
In the next video he adds a string, it's amazing...
@@jcanfixall1585 LOL!!! (BTW, I am Gasmaster in another skin for the moment :-)
Either way, he’s still a big-time loser!
Lol
1959 called it wants it's can opener back, still liked this inventive neat video!
Give this guy a decent can opener
Love it... gotta try it thx for sharing
THAT was cool to watch thank you
Love this video. I don't know why but it gave me a feeling of watching Wallace and Gromit working away in a Grand Day Out. Something to do with the way it is filmed and the sound effects I think. 😁 👍
And thank God it wasn't filmed by some pea-brained nerd in vertical.
truly, human ingenuity knows no bounds!
👏😅
It's amazing! I didn't think it was that stupid but I sat through that and actually watched it
I was thinking this was going to be some type of bird feeder. I used to have a very simple kitchen gadget that would cut potatoes, zucchini, etc into spirals. It was metal with a screw type thing attached that went into the vegetable and a semi-circular blade with a hole in it that you put your finger then just turn the blade around like a pinwheel (or dialing an old rotary phone) and it cuts the spirals.
Sounds a dangerous contraption for fingers! You still got all ten?
Absolutely ingenious! I love it.
Wow!! Longest 3 mins though lol 😆 but great result!😊
I do like your tools.
Going out to make one now !! I only need a Drill,Table top sander,dremmel,ink pen,drill bits,knife, length of threaded bar,nuts washers,green gloves,screws, OH AND A CAN OF POTATOES !!
You forgot to add safety glasses to your list. Would hate to lose an eyeball over this.
You forgot the gloves
He has all the tools but the right one for the job
No really i didnt mean it that u r boring. No really. U r brilliant. As for the potato spiral, my wife, she wore as her necklace to our anniversary dinner at our local fish n chip shop.
excellent litle video great tool making and very tasty looking result I love it
Awesome, wish I had skills like that.. lol
Yeah . Don't know how I've survived for so long without this.😊
Solid video. I don't think I'll ever take the time to make a pototo spiraler, but if I do, now I know how.
This vidéo is going to change my life forever !
I'll never get that 5 minutes of my life back
Quite a bit of trouble but neat. You know there are hand can openers that break the seal which leaves no sharp edges.
Straight to the comments because you know that some folks are losing their mind over this. 😄
Ill probably never make one of these but its very stimulating to watch the process and the ingenuity.
Lighten up people.
Yeah....half way through I figured out it was a bit of a piss-take! And yes... I fell for it!
Performer of ideas, This is great! I liked it and subscribed!
Great suggestion. Might I suggest you invest in a more modern can opener? Even a 20th century one would do the job safely and remove the need for the pliers to make the edges safe.
Hear, Hear
Maybe he can make one with a candy a piece of his saw teeth.
All you need is a fully equipped machine shop to make a potentially contaminated skewer.
You forgot the rust later on
Belle trouvaille ingénieuse. Bravo.
How did we ever live without one of these things?
Hahaha this one had me guessing all the way to the end LOL Awesome !!
Easier to just buy one!
This was fun. Thanks for sharing. Cool idea.
SUPERB! 🎉
This project deserved a subscription to your videos! Done! 😊
I like how the guy thought it all out. If it's not a potato spiral tool, he could think of other stuff. Gives me confidence that I can think of stuff like this.
Thank you would have never have thought of this definitely making one
Very cool! I love repurposing and thinking out of the box.
For the amount of time and materials this took I could drive to Walmart and get one for $2.49.
Chefe du hast eine gute Idee gehabt ! Danke .
Some people have way too much time on their hands. I could have peeled and sliced that potato before he finished converting his tin can. But kudos to his imagination.
You are the one with too much time on your hands as you did watch it,,, why did you waste all that good time you had on your hands?
@@andrewmeadors936I’m rubber, you’re glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you. 🙄🤡

Not bad for someone having a mechanical workshop but impractical for the common homeowner. I would rather pay $10 for the real thing. Thanks for posting anyway.
I thought he was making a mini rocket launcher, given all of the tools, screws, and glues he was using. But I thought wrong. My algorithms must be off-point today.
That is pretty nifty! Tyfs.👍
3 minutes = 1 afternoon minimum
So clever! Give this man a gold star!!
gold star this fukin idiot needs a straight jacket
Has applied for 30 different patents. Da Vinci would have been in awe for that one!😂
Slinky ka-bob. Awesome! Now I want to watch Deadpool again. 😊
I have often wondered if I could perform this spiral cut with a paring knife... I'm going to build this slicer when I get my Tax return 👍
Good 👍
And right now he’s working on a wind-up spring-loaded manual version of this device, for when the world goes completely off grid. All credit to him, this is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard, but building it keeps him off the streets! 🤓
Super cool idea nice way to recycle stuff too.
It might only take 3minutes but not everyone has all the tools it takes.
How come I always get sucked into watching these videos from a mute?
Nice project. Cooking temp and time?
Very cool!!!
Pretty nifty ... you have some interesting ideas there Sir ... kept my interest up. ... God Bless

Thanks for not having a music backing , great idea and enjoyable to watch was going to happen !

Yes. I get right off the ones with the background music. There’s no need for it.
a guy with a mustache used to do this on infomercials in 70s...but, you are indeed a PERFORMER of IDEAS..
I think it was great!!
Yes. You could have peeled and sliced...but once this has been put together you can use it over and over..and I bet it will work much quicker than your idea ..
In order to recycle, you should rinse the can.
I like it..with different seasonings and dips it'll be a hit unique food truck snack. Try em all $5 ea. Fairs, carnivals craftmeet.
Lovely therapeutic sounds.
Good idea mate. In this day and age people are just going broke, start showing people more of this.
yes but to cut this potato we need to buy a drill, Grinder, and a blow torch
I would say the reason most people are going broke is because they are dumb enough to think this shite is a good idea.
Generally speaking, if you spend 500 bucks at a Hardware store to cut a potato, instead of just getting a potato cutter on Amazon, there's a good reason you're broke
This may be the reason some people are broke 🤣
👍👍
I saw this , and then i went to my garage! I looked at my drill, angle grinder along with all the other tools in there. I then got in my car , and went to arby's . Got a roast beef , and some CURLY fries.
This is not what I was expecting and I'm going to have to give this video a thumbs up.
Yeah, had me in suspense for quite a while, too.
That's 5 min of my life I'll never get back.
May I suggest you show the finished product first, then one can decide whether they want to put the time in to make it. For me wasting 5 minutes watching your video could have been avoided. Thanks for your attempt .
Richtig. Diese Kartoffel Schneider gibt es für kleines Geld zu kaufen. Ich habe auch einen. Dieses selbst gefriemelte Ding, ist nach der 3ten Kartoffel sowieso kaputt.
😊
May I suggest you go to the end of the video first to check the final result and decide if you are interested or not. Because you made me waste 15 seconds reading your comment. Thanks for your attempt.

An a mini whatyamightcallit. And a screwdriver. And a file. And a heat gun, and a vice, and a butane burner, and an angle grinder and a workbench, and a workshop sander and a gluegun and a pipe cutter.... and a tube of glue.
