  • An absolute must in any workshop has got to be a Circle cutting jig.
This design is not only really easy and quick to make, it also allows you to avoid making a whole in the middle of your workpiece but also allows you to use a Pin if Required.
This jig spins on a Ball Bearing so its practically drag free.
Full detailed Instructions will Sketchup Diagrams are available on my Etsy store completed with stl files so you can 3d print the hardware (plasticware??) yourself.

That's what I wondered about, how to not put an awful hole in the center of the piece. Inspiratiounal. OK, you spell it. Second visit: this is very good, with detailed descriptions of what to do to make this work.

Hi David, thank you. Let me know how you get on / when you've used it, what you thought of it?👍

Ingenious, Graham. My only thought is that if the jig spins on the centre plate/bearing then there must be a small gap under the mdf. Therefore, as you press down on the router, the bit won’t quite be at 90 degrees to the workpiece. A small detail but might be critical if you were fitting two parts together.

Hi David, no sir, the 3D Printed base plate is recessed into the MDF Jig, one of the reasons to give it a good few coats of hardwearing finish. 👍

I am curious about the router guide bushing. Is that unique to your router? I don't have anything like it. Can I still make this work? I bought your plan and parts bundle. Thanks!

Hi Reg, not at all, they are available for every router I've every bought, check out Axminster Tools, they make some generic ones.

I make lots of mdf jigs, and am always interested to hear of new protective coatings that won’t make the mdf swell up.
What is the exact name of the varnish you used please?
