    ☆ ABOUT ME ☆
I am a former tech worker who lived in NYC for 30 years. At 50, I started an Amazon FBA business. Fun, but neither career allowed time for healthy living.
Last year, I turned 60, overweight, out-of-shape, pre-diabetic, with high cholesterol, and couldn't walk 20 minutes without resting.
In August 2023, I began the carnivore diet. I lost 65 pounds in 3 months.
Now, I can walk for miles without a rest. My cholesterol and blood pressure are at healthy levels, and I am no longer pre-diabetic. I feel 30 years younger, and I'm passionate about sharing my story to help others.

This is the best show I have seen you do. Many people come to carnivore to lose weight and find that it transforms their body. January 1st 2024 I stopped drinking alcohol because I want to be healthier. After 6 months now of no alcohol I will never go back to alcohol. I applaud you for going to the next level. Good on you for quitting booze. I was never a heavy drinker, but I quit for a few months about 12 years ago to lose weight, and I felt so much better that I had no interest in starting up again. People in my life were really upset -- especially certain family members who were / are heavy drinkers -- and a lot of things shifted around. Kind of like when I started carnivore. i think that happens naturally though. i'm still ketovore but less and less and more meat n eggs (yolks). i had so little appetite yesterday it kinda scared me (used to a life of junk food compulsion). i don't think about food and some aversions are presenting like egg whites. so don't we naturally lower food consumption over time? i've been on a million diets in my 65 years so i see it from a different perspective. yes you want to get all the weight off but listen to your body too. maybe it isn't ready and is doing some healing. i'd say if you lose nothing for 3 to 6 months then time to rethink things. but that's me. if you have the ability to get it off quickly and want to then good for you. for me slower means less sagging skin. may we all get to our goal!!!!!

However I do lift weights so I appear bigger than what the scale says. I’m a 58 yr old male, 5’ 10”. I too switched from a “dirty” carnivore to the lion diet about four months in and have had better results. But there is a little science to it if you really want to to dial-in. I had to weigh and track my food (my fitness pal) which I despise doing. But I needed to find my baseline of how many calories of fat and protein I needed a day because yeah, once you’re not obese anymore you can yo yo and especially stall on carnivore. interesting update. not sure about thinking cows/ruminants don't eat bugs. they eat hundreds of bugs in the grass and even small baby rodents in those grasses (they are really large relentless lawn mowers). i lived near deer for 4 years and they eat more variety too, fruit, nuts, stems, twigs, and leaves, mushrooms, and tender spring grass...of course bugs are on all of those.
watched a vid on chickens and their digestive tracts. a chicken farmer explained they digest their food extremely well. starts with the beak then lands in the crop for 12 hours! then passes into the gizzard for grinding and onto the cecum where bacteria takes over to break food down further. but i guess it could be true that cows and deer do a better job.
Good luck on lion diet...i guess i'm not 100% sold on it yet. i also think about lions/cats eating grass often and not because they are sick necessarily. they say it aids digestion and they also eat the vegetation in the stomach of their pray. anyway it will be great to watch along with you on this journey. your videos are always well done and helpful and your insights into the information we find along this meat based way of eating presented clearly.

You will very quickly find if you feel better with more fat or protein and which would be best for your fat loss. Technically you weren't eating "dirty" carnivore. All meats are allowed on the carnivore diet, beef, pork, chicken, turkey, lamb. Seasonings and sauces with any plant based ingredients, coffee, tea, etc. would have made it "dirty". Eating just beef and lamb and water, now that's going to really be a test. I love grass fed beef but have never been a fan of lamb. Not sure I could do the lion diet to be honest. Switching to OMAD might also be helpful. If you can do 2MAD, OMAD shouldn't be terribly difficult. I did OMAD so I could afford to eat only grass fed beef, free range eggs and chicken, Duroc pork, and uncured bacon (usually Applegate). Mainly ate beef as it's more filling and makes you feel fuller longer than chicken. Used "lite salt" for the potassium, along with Himalayan pink salt because it tastes better. Good luck on the Lion Diet!

Thanks for the tips! I would love to switch to grass-fed meat only, but that would really be stretching my budget. There are a couple of farms in southern Vermont with better prices, so I may make the trip later in the month. And yes, I’m going to try OMAD. I’ll be quitting coffee as well. My one non-carnivore vice. Lifelong caffeine addict here. That should make for an interesting video….

@@Jaylwoodworth just realized I forgot to add fish, shellfish and dairy (though dairy is best kept to a minimum) to the carnivore list of foods. Steak and wild caught gulf shrimp sautéed in butter is a staple meal for me. Usually once or twice a week. I completely understand how hard it is to give up coffee. I tried and failed. Wasn't worth the literal headache so I wish you luck in that endeavor. I'll keep having my one or two cups a day with a splash of heavy cream 😂. Weight training (or resistance bands if you can't afford weights or a gym membership) to build muscle might also help break your plateau. Also, measuring is better than weighing. There were times when the scale showed no progress but I knew I was thinner, so I measured and found that I lost inches even when the scale didn't budge. Now I just go by how my clothes fit. Good luck!

I’m only 5 minutes in but do you weight your portions and count the calories? If you’re in a calorie deficit you should start losing again. 45 minutes of cardio everyday will help you burn more calories. At least 300 a day. Over a week that’s 2100 calories burned.

I haven’t been too concerned about portion size, but will be more mindful while on the lion diet.

@@Jaylwoodworth lions don't care about portion control though😆 we are all giving you advice lol. i think with lion you can eat til full. but again maybe nature does the portion control because they don't always get a meal for a while.
