I'm convinced the guy in the red shorts from the slapping competition is a superhero. The way he moves is unreal
It’s staged
Better yet, it looks like it's on sand, maybe loose dirt, but either way that's hard to jump on.
No doubt, but his movement is impressive nonetheless@@_________.
I spit my water at the entire 'slap kabate' segment. "Then they give him money, then they throw the money, then the little kids grab the money" they gave that dude one bill and threw hundreds lmaooo
As an Australian it pains me to say this, but New Zealand punches way out of its weight division when it comes to sport. Admittedly they only really play Cricket and Rugby (well, and Netball), but theyre always strong. They have also given us some of the best motorsport drivers as well.
SVG has already shown himself to be a pretty decent stock car driver as well
We do real well in Netball and Rugby League as well, but the Aussies unfortunately just seem to be on another level
Its because there not much else to do here lol all the cool things to do are way over priced.
We used to be insanely dominant at men's softball as well, but that was mostly because almost no one plays men's softball
@@L1ama ha, I was going to ask if men even play softball 😂 We had to play it at school for PE instead of baseball because our school was too stingey to buy batting helmets.
3:25 kabaddi live is the single most confusing thing I've ever accidentally watched live. It's like Indian full contact tag with extra playground rules such as, you have to yell "kabaddi" the whole time you're raiding without taking a breath or you get no points. This goes on for forty minutes and it's bonkers the whole time. But this slap thing just looks like they only kept the tag part, like a hockey game that's only shootouts.
You don't really have to "yell" "kabaddi" the whole time while raiding. Just have to keep on saying it in a low voice.
I wonder what else do you find confusing about it? It's really just going into the opposite team's half and touching as many players as you can without getting caught.
Two sports that I thought were made up but am so glad exist: kabaddi and tejo
@@peterparker-zy9oethe hand holding is also confusing to watch. Not too many sports have holding hands as a defensive technique. Also it's not like football where once you are down you are out, so it's confusing to watch people crawl on the ground to get over the line.
Hand holding in football is illegal it constitutes a wedge block penalty
@@eitheroareitherroar7223there is normal pro kabaddi and there is this funny one . Both are different
This series can never end. It's so good... I love seeing all these different sports.
is it potentially going to end? i've seen someone make a comment about it before
Definitely got the kayfabe feel with the “game of slaps”.😂
Even if its somewhat staged, the slap fight was a lot more entertaining than the slap stuff Dana White is promoting.
It's like WWE with jumpy, spinny shit.
god I forgot all about that slap game. It’s like a celebration of CTE
No way that wasn't staged
You mean, concusion league?
Dana White ruined the rules of the slap contests. Dana has it so it's basically just "try to knock the guy out with the meaty part of your palm".
The rules in Russia, where slap fights were made popular, are unironically much safer.
You have to do the quarterfinals of the rugby world cup SA vs France and NZ vs Ireland was wild if you can handle more rugby?
felt like it was a challenge when you claimed i never planned on watching the sumo because i watch sumo. but you got me. i definitely did plan on watching or watch polish women's sumo.
"Hey man, grab a couple of beers and come over. We've got the Polish Women's Sumo Wrestling on stream. Gonna be wild!"
Said no one ever
Definitely a bold claim thinking we aren’t totally enthralled by the complicated lore of Polish Women’s Sumo. Tough to see Jomboy broad brushing their audience like this
Grand Sumo in Japan has had some really entertaining smaller rikishi like Enho, but most notably Harumafuji who made it to the very top as a Yokozuna. The smaller wrestlers that can make it to the top by nature have to be fast and very skilled at grappling, otherwise it's like the clip above.
Another option is to not grapple directly against someone twice your size, but to try and unsettle them by dodging the initial charge, then pulling them forward, using their own momentum against them.
Arguably not the most "honorable" way to win (particularly if the opponents are actually of similar size), but it gets the job done.
Small rikishi tend to be the most entertaining, due to the fact that they're the most mobile by far (lower weight = more agility + the need to use said agility to avoid getting grappled into a pancake, as happened in the video clip). Still, heavy rikishi dominate the sport at all levels; the heavier a wrestler is, the harder it is to bring down or push out of the ring, which are the win conditions in sumo.
@@BlackPawn14 Harumafuji used to be just on another level with grappling techniques; he'd just be so quick to find a position and make it work. I really miss watching him and Hakuho go at it, really a shame how his career ended. And Harumafuji was the lightest of the three Yokozuna of his time, and I think one of the smallest in the top division for his time. Downside was that he was bandaged like a mummy for the latter part of his career with all of the injuries.
Damn, Red Trunks' jump looked like a scene from the movie RRR! That was cool as hell.
Ah mate I appreciate you putting in some rugby 🤙A sport that deserves more love than it gets
I see it down below but Rugby Quarter Finals have to be breakdown-worthy! We already knew the world's best 4 teams were inseparable, and the weekend proved it ...insane atmosphere, and winners of the two group games getting knocked out on the final play in the quarter finals.
My fan vote goes to the entire crowd watching the Pakistani slap fighting, especially the kids running into the ring to grab some cash
Funnily enough with that "catch", Mitchell Starc's wife Alyssa Healy is the wicketkeeper of the women's team, so she would have had the best view of it of all the Aussie fielders.
For the guys who don't know, wicket keeper is like the cricket version of baseball's catcher
@@peterparker-zy9oe and commenters tend to forget that the decisions made are by globally accredited umpires who have mostly played the game at the highest levels.
This weekend was the greatest weekend of rugby probably ever. Hope you didn't miss it!
The only problem with your post is that rugby has been ruined with poor rule changes, over officiating and the belief that they needed to turn one of the toughest contact sports into soccer. As David Campese has noted the game has become a joke. Other than that it was a great weekend for rugby.
My boy went flying squirrel to back slap 😂😂..
Well done Jomboy! You've managed to REPLACE ESPN...
As a New Zealander, we dont actually exist as a country, just as an entity in sports
😂😂
I hoped you would show the crazy final play in the Ireland-NZ rugby WC 😢
Honestly didn't think the ABs were going to hold them off on the final play, easily could've gone either way
The SlapoMania was awesome 😂
This is my favorite Jomboy series
I was waiting for this...thanks bro!!
He's finally doing rugby I have no idea how it isn't more popular in the USA
Americans and Canadians turned rugby in gridiron football.
We liked it so much that we play the modded version, haha.
Funnily enough that was the first rugby match i ever watched, what an amazing play! I was trying to piece together the rules as the match went on...
You have to do a playback of the full body torpedo tackle Argentina had against Wales to protect the lead near the end of the game.
Been a subscriber and your work keeps getting better.
Props to the All Blacks, honestly astonished they beat Ireland, I really thought the Irish were gonna take the cup.
thought so after the group stage
More of the slapping! Please!
Loving the rugby content! My in-laws are huge fans of the sport and this World Cup has got me swept up in it. Was hoping you would feature some on Things You Missed and was not disappointed!
Love the channel! You get me interested in sports I would otherwise ignore, and you shit-talk. Well done, sir!
Thx Jomboy for showing Rugby!!!
Slap Fight was WWF-esque.
If you've ever wanted a more heartbreaking story, watch the last Cricket World Cup Final in '19
I'm not saying i'm bitter over it,
Just saying i'll never forget it
That slap thing is electric and hilarious
You can explain most American sports easily to a first time watcher. Most of these are too complicated, except sumo!
When the dudes slap fight and then turn to tell "mom" the ref lol
That guy in the red and black pants could jump !! Dang, he was good.
And I love watching NZ's teams doing the haka. Do awesome to watch.
Did anyone else catch the guy in white at 1:34 who tried to shake the QB's hand and the QB didn't want to shake hands. So the guy in white grabs his hand and shakes it for him. Lol.
That Indian dude is an athletic freak, that guy needs to be playing halfback for an nfl team with his maneuverability
I planned on watching all of that, right here, baby!
Killed the theme song this week!!
These are like everything the Sports Center Top 10 should be but isn't.
The slap thing totally reminded me of the fight scene at the derelict casino in a clockwork orange
on the topic of ruby world cup: you gotta make a break down for the portugal fiji game!
Swimming world cup currently going on Australian Kaylee McKeown breaks 2 world record and holds the WR across the 50, 100, and 200 backstroke
The beauty of sumo is that weight doesn’t matter. When a little guy (usually) throws a big one it’s awesome. That’s in Grand Sumo of course. World women’s sumo may be different.
Weight definitely matters - that's why they put on so much. There are a few wrestlers at the top level who are able to overcome it with skill and athleticism, but that's the exception rather than the rule.
Nobody earned Fan of the Week!? What about the Chargers fan? Fan of the Season!!😂
Shame it looks like your other CWC videos are being struck by our selfish overlords, but the hustle is appreciated.
the slap thing is a bollywood movie 😂😂
kabaddi is such a cool sport to watch even though I still don't really get it
More cricket breakdowns, or I walk
4:57 It's like they combined cricket and pro wrestling.
Cricket? Where did you get cricket in that?
@@anonymouslyopinionated656 The boundary line and the official mostly.
3:48 how can he slap!?
You forgot to mention one of the many other sporting events that New Zealanders are good at...holding the America's Cup.
Poor performance by fans everywhere this week.
Big hopes that NZ can get to the finals (for the third time in a row) and then win the CWC this time!
When there’s a NZ match being shown, you should at least fit in a few frames of the pre-competition Haka …
3:46 Not all heroes wear capes. Some ARE capes.
2:46 Foreshadowing!
I just discovered a new sport today. Carjitsu. That's right--jiu jitsu match between two people inside a car. We need a breakdown on this!!! Please
Is the car in motion during the fight?
@@chimpinaneckbrace No. the two fighers get to look in the car prior to the fight. One in drivers seat. One in passenger. Then they fight-ref and everything. Bizarre.
Dudes got arm drags like Rickey Steamboat
As a wrestling fan, thank you for introducing me to that slapping thing
I thought this looks like a wrestling thing
Common jomboy dub
Always good to see Ireland getting beat 🤣😁😁😁
Aussie here - not a catch.
As for the "Catch or not a catch" - looks like no from that frame - but I didn't see any debris from the ground. Had it touched the ground, there'd have been a good spray of dirt. Where was that dirt? I didn't see any dirt. No dirt = good catch.
I think it skidded into her hand off the ground. There seems to be a change in angle, but of course the camera can play tricks.
Nope. Unlike baseball, a cricket pitch is NOT made up of loose dirt, so there is no chance of a spray of dirt. A cricket pitch is essentially ground that has been rolled, rolled and rolled some more, essentially killing the grass giving it its brown colour while keeping the soil bound together.
That slap shit is looking like a WWE variant.
yes
I don't know much about Sumo, but I thought women weren't allowed to enter at all, like culturally the rings are sanctified and if a woman enters the ring it's now considered impure. Probably that's changed in recent times though.
Thanks
Was it a catch? Err... no. DRS umpire screwed up.
This will be good!
You should do the Geoguessr World Cup for this
I wish you would do your old breakdown on vids like these. They used to be hilarious
never missing the world cup mate
how satisfying
So I'm guessing that first clip was rugby? Maybe some rules descriptions like you've done for cricket would help us less informed.
I guess we can catch these games on the Ocho?
Slap Kabaddi! Can't wait for real Kabaddi to show up! And the New Zealand-Ireland match was epic, even if Ireland were robbed. ROBBED!
Agree... can't wait for Jomboy to blow up Kabbadi... Also, I really thought it would be Ireland's year to get to the Semi's, if not the Finals, after than group stage.
dunno if NZ is a small island nation. they're at least medium sized
No way that looks like a clean catch.
Indeed...from a cmera that is 80+ metres distant and an elevation some 10 metres above ground...ideal conditions !!
04:20
*Scam Likely vs. Unknown Caller.*
England also got beaten pretty handily by Afghanistan in the cricket, which is crazy considering they won the last WC
On close catches I almost always say, if it's close enough, you give it to em !!
Prior to the advent of slow mo replays and turd umpires, cricket was called the gentlemen's game. It was generally taken that if a fielder claimed the catch it was given....gentlemen's agreement. Video killed more than the radio star.
Love the cricket!!
why is Adam LaRoche in this video at 6:50
Rugby World Cup quarter finals have all been great.
Are there any horse socks?
Should look into dota 2 TI that’s going on right now.
Better than ESPN Top 10 🤷🏿♂️💯
where does he post the results of fan of the week (when there is one )
WWE but instead it's WWS. Somewhere in the audience is Vince McMahon.
with his cheque book.
missed opportunity to put the purdue students who went 4/5 in field goal challenges when the actual kicker went 0/3 in the game as fans of the week
Jomboy gonna get cancelled for fat shaming
Boom!!
Are there any horse socks…
As soon as I figured out that the slap game was staged it all made sense and was actually entertaining.
That slap fighting is definitely pro-wrestling adjacent. You can see the guys throw themselves over red shorts when he's suppose to be throwing them. It's all a show.
I really want one of New Zealand’s players to be on both the cricket and rugby teams.
They cant do it at the same time but Jeff Wilson did it representing both All Blacks and the Black Caps in the 90s
There's an annual charity match where a bunch of active rugby players play cricket against retired cricket players. The rugby team has won it before. Loads of people play both in school but there's way more money in rugby for Kiwis so it often gets the best.
There have actually been at least six of them...search for a list.
That's just Bollywood WWE
