ABC 1976-77 Fall Promo

Here's ABC's fall promo for the 1976-77 season. Around this time, Happy Days had officially unseated All in The Family as the #1 show in the ratings (also partially due to CBS messing around with its schedules at the time.) ABC was also dominating the Nielsen ratings, having seventeen shows in the Top 30, gaining an unprecedented & unheard of 567% jump from where the network was just two seasons prior, when it only had three Top 30 shows.

WOW! I don't remember this very elaborate commercial! Unusual as it does not feature any new TV programs or references to TV at all until the end.

In 1976, Fred Silverman assisted on the development for many failures like Nancy Walker and Tony Randall. Nancy Walker however does not repeat the success of CBS' All in the Family and it was quickly cancelled.
