- We are officially underway. In this episode, we react to the fallout from the Hollywood party snafu, Heidi dropping out of FIDM AND landing her dream job with Brent Bolster at Bolt Bolt Party Productions. Not to mention, Whitney talks to Lauren in the fashion closet, looking cute and staying totally neutral and out of any potential LC/Heidi conflict.

Should Hedi have stayed in school, taken the job, or other? Feel free to get creative with "other."
She did what she felt was best at the time. Lauren was a little harsh when Heidi called her lol! PS- Audrina is not interested in Brian, how does he not know that?
@Maartje Goede ouch. harsh but true lol
She’s annoying lol that’s all I know. She should have done a lot of things different. Her and Spencer didn’t play their cards right like you and Lauren did- they broke now.
I feel bad for her! She’s just trying to live her best life, and clearly she was on to something because regardless of your opinion of her and Spencer they do seem really happy and very much in love still
Become an influencer, ditch Lauren and never meet Spencer
Whitney admitting to being a pot head during the hills makes so much sense she was always the chill one
She said she still used THC, but only at night on The City reaction videos.
I missed that
No wonder she’s the only one I liked and thought was level headed lol
I don’t remember this when did she say that ?!?
Does she still use?
Hedi was so cute before all the surgery. Seriously, adorable.
Right?! I wish she never got anything done.
She barely has had much of any done
She had 10 plastic surgeries in 24 hours at age 23
TOTALLY Adorbs!💖💖💖💯
Her face looked so wide after her surgery....
"Quit, I dont care. I have none of your best interest in mind" 😂😂😂
Best spit take!
Remember when we thought Lisa Love was terrifying, then we met Kelly Cutrone and Lisa suddenly seemed like a fuzzy kitten? 😂 I stand by the party fiasco was definitely Heidi's fault. Yes, Lauren and Whitney could have both said no, but they were pressured and put on the spot by a friend at 19 and 20. With the school stuff, this is exactly why I always liked Lauren, she didn't support lazy, low effort behavior. 'Likeable' or not, I remember respecting her for this and still do. As annoying as Heidi was here, she had so much confidence and spirit pre-Spencer.
I will say this before Heidi met Spencer and all the surgeries she had Heidi had such a natural beauty and the confidence to match and all of that went away the day she met Spencer!!!
😂
I love Kelly 😊
I’m sorry, but you trying to remember how Yeah! by Usher and Lil Jon went KILLED me 🤣 so close and yet... lol love you two
Absolute gold!
I was cracking up!!
Totally! And the duet part there at one point, so funny! I thought I knew the song, but when they started humming/singing I was thinking this must be a song I don´t remember hahah
Like fun fact: literally no one (except usher obvs) is able to sing Yeah!
Sameeeee! I was screaming 😭😭😭😭😭😭
"That could've been a text" 😂
The 2020 accuracy though
Always so weird rewatching this knowing how Lauren and Heidi's relationship ended. There were so many signs it was gonna go that way from the beginning...
absolutely!
When Lauren gets called to Lisa's office, you literally make the same exact face watching it as you do in the original clip!
LOL
tell me why finding out that whitney was a pothead makes me love her even more
Same but she still is and I love that for her- actually for both Whitney and Timmy. 👍🏼❤️
Couldn't tell if that was sarcasm or not! I know she smokes now, but it's hard to picture 19 year old Whitney a pot head. haha
@Sarah P if you watch any of the episodes filmed at night time they are clearly high, eyes red, they even say they enjoy weed gummies :)
@Sarah P 21:31
@@tl5672 lol grow up it’s just grass
Just did the math, there’s 102 episodes of The Hills, 2 episodes reactions per week, you will finish in November 2021😅 I have something to look forward to every Wednesday and Friday for the next 12 months!
This is excellent news. 🤩
Doin' god's work over here!
omg LOVEE
Not all hero's wear capes 🤗
Oh I’m so ready for this! 😍
Omg Timmy's impressions of Heidi's boyfriend and his friend are GIVING ME LIFE! I could watch Timmy read an entire book as 'Heidi's boyfriend'.
Hahaha that was my favorite part. He’s hilarious
I think Spencer has a book....😜
"is heidi still drunk? what's her deal..." lol timmy
Lmao
In Lauren's defense, at 20 years old, I would've had the same thoughts if my friend wanted to drop out of school for a job.
Now.. I completely understand leaving school for your dream job. If you're already working, you learn SO much more than you will at school. My husband spent 5 years getting a degree that he doesn't use or work in that field. So, I get it.
I was maybe a year or two behind Lauren in school so I felt her worry. We were drilled to believe you went to college after to high school. Even Lauren going to FIDM seemed like such a risk to me watching this and then to have Heidi dropping out completely was just not normal. It was college or bust for millennials so I relate to Lauren’s reaction.
I’m Lauren’s age and I was on Lauren’s side when The Hills was airing but now on Heidis side. Same for when Heidi chose Spenser.
I know we’re not at that point yet but I remember fuming at Heidi because she was SO lazy and unappreciative of her internship. At the time I was desperate to get anything, i was sleeping on my friends couch and stuffing envelopes for far less impressive companies. She expected to go straight to the top.
That all said I forgot how Heidi used to be I don’t remember this sweet party girl, just someone who seemed permanently exhausted and on edge trying to defend her boyfriend. I still don’t understand those two
@@bellam31 Spencer was not a good person on the show especially spreading lies about Lauren and Heidi not caring...that really was evil
@@EmmaWalton123 but she would have probably turned out different if he’d never met him, he turned her into a joke sadly
It's so funny to hear that Whitney was stoned all the time at that age. I would have never guessed back when I first watched these shows, she always seemed like such a sweet "good" girl lol
Watching this episode again proves to me that Lauren and heidis friendship wasn’t great from the beginning lol
I think Lauren's reaction was what every rule follower thinks when it looks like someone is being rewarded who hasn't done the work. It feels unfair and leads to resentment instead of support. In essence she is mad that Heidi got to the goal without doing the hard stuff.
I can see that
this
Yes... But in hindsight, Lauren has an EMPIRE now, in which she utilizes the skills she learned through her internships and fashion school. She can stay on top of trends to make sure her brand is never outdated. Her wealth will be passed down generations. Meanwhile, Heidi has reality tv and Spencer's crystal business. Crystals have a potential to have longevity, but its at a higher risk of just being a fad.
Very very true
Lauren always had really strong opinions on how her friends should lead their lives and I would find it very suffocating but no one seems to care ‘cause she’s the protagonist.
Heidi: i don't give up easily
Also Heidi: quits school in 3.4 seconds
That’s her prerogative though. She didn’t quit the job once she got it - I mean she got fired but that’s not quitting 🤷🏽♀️
The whole scene with Whitney’s face and the calculations and equations flying around was perfection 😝😆😂
I never knew Whitney had such a cool personality! I guess they never let her really show it on the show. Love her!!!
Whitney was the voice of reason/knowledge on The Hills. I guess that's why it was weird watching you be the one with issues on The City! It was definitely a role reversal.
yesssss!!!
I think Lauren was very black and white on wanting to do the "right" thing and hadn't matured enough yet to see that there isn't one right path for everyone and there is grey areas. I think she was trying to protect Heidi from making a mistake as we all were taught that your whole goal was to get good grades and go to College and then a job- that you had to check those things off the list in that order. I think she was always coming from a place of wanting what's best for Heidi but in doing so she unfortunately judged her and sort of lectured her without meaning to. She should totally have just been happy for her and congratulated her instead of being a killjoy and I am sure in retrospect prob cringes now that she has more life experience. It wasn't her job to make sure Heidi was making good decisions but their relationship was based on Lauren feeling like it was I think.
@@leahmarie112 lol also prob a bit of this as well
I feel like that was the view of MANY people.. I remember when I graduated HS and knowing I was more of a life person than to go to a college, and it definitely wasn't the popular choice.
That's fair, but I still get that judgement vibe from her. I didn't even get halfway through the 1st interview with her. It's like I see something in her now that I didn't really see before, and it puts me off. I can be judgmental too, obviously.
@@rydbthatsme I don't think finishing school would have had an affect on that. It isn't like Lauren's career is because of her degree. Her career is because she capitalized on the opportunities that the reality shows brought her.
@@mmcmann9539 Lauren has always had that 'I'm better than everyone syndrome'. She basically did nothing and became the star of Laguna Beach, then was the star of this spinoff, again, for doing nothing; I would probably think I was better than everyone else too.
Lol, I love that Heidi knew what she wanted and went for it. She was so courageous and confident in her young age. It's also hilarious how little she cared about her school "interview" with the dean or whatever and how seriously she took the job interview with Bolt. Amazing! Re-watching this show I'm remembering how judgy Lauren was, but I know she just cared a lot about her friends. She did always come off a little self-righteous though.
Timmy reminds me so much of Jenna Marbles' boyfriend Julien
Julien Solomita! Yes! I see it too!
No No and no
I remember liking Lauren a lot when this show came out, but watching it back as an adult...she's a bit of a my way or the highway type. It's Heidi's life.
No .. friends do this all the time what are you talking about
This. Is. Hilarious. The editing with the calculations and mini Sonny made me literally lol.
Notice at 4:32 that Whitney unintentionally makes the same facial expression as she did in the episode in reaction to blain calling Lauren into Lisa’s office 😂
“Her doesn’t give a shit about anything attitude is scary” LMAOOOOO AHAHAHAHAHA
Omg LOL the Sonny math part 😂😂
Lmao I was confused as hell🤣🤣🤣🤣
I laughed so hard at that! Because i had the same reaction as Whitney. lol
Sorry if somebody else already commented this but Heidi said on her podcast with Spencer that production offered to pay Lauren’s whole way through school but not hers and she wouldn’t have been able to afford it by herself at that time which is the real reason she dropped out apparently
I would take anything those two say with a very very big pinch of salt
I would have asked mtv if they can help her pay or at least 1 semester.
it is also called student loans.
I loved Heidi’s young, carefree energy. Lauren was old school. I am too. I had to put a pause on college for six years then went back because a diploma meant so much to me and my family. They were just on teo different mindsets.
Completely and I to loved Heidi’s carefree spirit attitude til she met the devil himself Spencer lol
Whitney, you are so gorgeous all the time! I cringe looking at Heidi and Lauren’s hair and makeup and eyebrows. But you are just a timeless classic beauty.
AGREED!
Then trying to sing “yeah” literally made my day. So funny. I’m loving this
I love that Whitney is a fellow pothead lol...I knew I always liked her the best. Whitney has become even more of my favorite after watching these reaction videos. So adorable
I always loved her. She seemed so positive & supportive. I just finished LG & started rewatching The Hills reaction videos. Whitney & Timmy are hilarious! Love them & their commentary!
Heidi is def coked up in that club scene.
her husband is so funny ! i love his commentary!
I remember when fans were going through Bolthouse directory to see if she really worked there 😆
lauren was being selfish imo. she didn't want what was best for heidi, cuz the moment she sees her job taking off she's like "i'm over school" and was SO mean to heidi for doing the same. also idk why i died when whitney said she was a pothead at this point hahahah we've all been there
I truly do believe Lauren wanted was best for Heidi but what Lauren didn’t realize and I think she knows this now is that not everyone was born to do what she was born to do in a sense but it was kinda harsh that she hung up on Heidi like that after watching the episode all over again I would’ve felt some type a way to be honest
I think Lauren saw that Heidi had no self discipline and needed structure, it was only an internship, not a job offer. And I have to say I think she was right because where’s Heidi now? Living with her in laws because she has no money, no education, and no job prospects. And that all said she seems like a really awesome mum, but I’m still sad to see the way things turned out, when for many years she was seen as a joke
Well they met in school in SF and the deal was they’d go to school together in LA and film the show. I’d wonder if Heidi was just using her to be on the show. Heidi just left Lauren hanging not even talking to her about it. And it wasn’t a job, it was an internship. Now for years her and Spencer have been living in his parents beach house. They’re lucky otherwise they’d be in major trouble as they pissed away every cent they made.
Oh my gosh! LOL! That rendition of "Yeah" had me cracking up! You two are hilarious!
Re-watching the show as an adult was eye opening. Lauren was kind of a mean girl...
Just slightly.....I would’ve felt some type a way personally
From Lauren and Lauren’s family’s own words she’s more introverted and artistic and used reality tv as a Point A. She’s also 19 years old here. I think Lauren was mostly disappointed that Heidi seemed to be veering into a more fame/clout chasing lane and was probably very annoyed, disappointed and a bit suspicious of Heidi’s motivations to being Lauren’s friend. Honestly at 19 I’d be like “oh so you didn’t move to LA to go to school with me, you moved here so you could get into clubs as the costar of a reality tv show.” These women had very different goals but it seems like Heidi manipulated Lauren into believing they wanted the same things thus securing Lauren’s friendship and a spot on the show.
I’d be a mean girl too....
I want whit to talk more about how it works behind the scenes. Like do the teachers/bosses decide when it was okay for them to film, or is the filming constant and production decides what to keep?
Please do two episodes in a row, they’re so short!!!
I agree!
PLEASE!!
Totally!! I was thinking the same thing!
Yes!
Yes pls
The editing is getting better and better! The confused meme part was hilarious. Keep up the good work!
That made me laugh more than it should’ve 🤣
...and I still don't know what Timmy meant :/
@@KP-dd2ci same, I think that’s why I laughed so hard haha with Whitney thinking about it
Agreed! Killed me!
I've never heard a 'word search' be called a 'word find' before 😂
I think we call them "Find-a-words" in Australia haha
Lauren was such a buzzkill when Heidi said she got an interview. BE HAPPY FOR YOUR FRIEND GIRL!
And an even TERRIBLE reaction when she got the job and Lauren didn't even congratulate and hang up on her. This isn't a good friend.
When I was 18 I would have said the same thing but now at 25 I believe that staying in school is the better option. You have your entire life to work but only a few years to experience college and get an education . Lauren was giving her good advice. She was being a wise ,mature friend.
@@js-mg3rh - Interesting way of looking at it. I was 21 when this came out and I was on Lauren's side believing that school is more important, but now at 35 I'm on Heidi's side because networking and being out in the field leads to great opportunities. Total reverse.
@@rei__tv yeah u do have a point about networking but most people graduate college at 21/22 so you have time after to network and if we have to look at an example of Lauren and Heidi's careers . Lauren became a successful fashion line owner and now has gone into beauty. Heidi on the other hand rushed into a Job and then marriage at such a young age that even she and Spencer admitted on a epsiode of the hills new beginnings that they became broke at one stage. Life is a process not a race.
Agreed 100%. I wonder what Timmy/Whitney's reactions will be because a lot of late-20s/early-30s people rewatching "The Hills" have changed their views on Lauren. I think she didn't want Heidi not living the FIDM life she had wanted the two of them to do; but at the same time, if your friend finds something she thinks is her calling , be HAPPY for her. And I've never hung up on a friend before. Not cool.
When I first watched this I was so team Lauren but actually re-watching when older you see how horrible she actually was to Heidi throughout the whole time and then Audrina later on. Basically if it’s not her way it’s the highway. She’s a terrible friend.
'Going out' tops and Jeans is STILL my style! 😂 👌
I’m retrospect I think Heidis personality changed because she lost all of her friends/ support system when she got with spencer and so he was the only one she leaned on. I remember her continuously saying “losing my girls is really hard for me” etc.
Heidi came across as so unlikable at this point. She had such privilege.
I don't disagree. Lauren struck me as quite anxious and trying really hard to prove she was responsible. Possibly to the detriment of her friendships.
Heidi actually came from very little, I’ve seen her or spencer say that at times her mum couldn’t even afford tampons. I think she was just really enjoying this lifestyle as it was totally new to her, where as Lauren came from money and was spoilt and so continues to be quite childish throwing tantrums when she doesn’t get her own way xxx
There's no such thing as privilege.....anyone who uses that word is just a jealous loser
😂🤭🤐
Really? I thought this was when she was the most likable to me, even cute! As the seasons went on, I always found myself missing S1 Heidi.
I love how affectionate Timmy and Whitney are. It’s so natural and sweet. Warms my heart!
Living for the early 2000´s everything right now
Timmy's face during the interview when Heidi says "Honestly, I'm hardworking..." 😂😂
Whitney you are just naturally beautiful, I think that was one my things about The Hills
LOVING these so much. The going out tops. the red bull. the way we all went out in quite casual clothes..
Whitney you were legit the cutest! The true friend and confidant every girl dreamed of! I also think so far in this reaction series you aren't as hard on yourself as you were when watching The City and it's lovely to see! Also cracking up at: "Probably, I was such a pothead at this point in my life!"😂😂
I love watching this, I do think Lauren was unfair regarding Heidi's job situation, almost controlling in a way. I think people learn in different ways like via education and the traditional route, learning on the job, apprenticeships etc. And I think their personalities suited different ways of learning and LC should have been more open minded and supportive of the fact that they both had different approaches to it. I know for me personally I was an average achiever and didn't feel ready for university as I didn't think I was at a level to be good enough yet but my school had it ingrained in us that in order to have a job in future you HAD to go to university and in hindsight I probably would have benefitted more from not attending and going straight into working like Heidi did instead of listening to the 'traditional route'. So I get where she's coming from in this episode although how it's edited does make it seem like a sudden rash decision. I always felt bad for Heidi in this episode when LC hangs up on her, it was such an exciting achievement and opportunity for her and she was so unsupportive just because it didn't fit her ideals, it stung to watch back then and still stings watching it years later!
Also side notes; I definitely stole LC's job interview advice for past jobs and they worked! hahahaha! I was gutted that Brian and Jordan weren't in the rest of the series because I always thought they were fun to watch :D
Timmy’s impressions of everyone are too funny! I love your singing of the intro Whitney! These are so relaxing and nostalgic to watch!
Timmy is so funny. His commentary is making me laugh so much. I want to hear his producer opinion of every reality show
"can we get a couple shots of smog? excellent..." timmy man...you are a star
YES lol
I understand where both Heidi and Lauren were coming from. The reason Lauren was so annoyed is her and Heidi met at school in San Fran, and it didn’t work out. Later Lauren and Heidi decided to move to LA to go to school together so Lauren was upset because that was the reason they moved there and Heidi made no effort to even try school. It’s obviously easier to make it through when you have a friend going through it too. Heidi is also a wonderful free spirit and she had the confidence to go after what she wants so I’m glad she did what was best for her.
Cannot wait to see more of these! Especially as the UK is in our second lockdown, need quarantine tv!
This is seriously the best way to rewatch one of my favorite shows
I just finished watching the hills. You were my favorite! So elegant, classy, and timeless! So excited for this series! 🥰🥰🥰
Ahhh this is giving my middle/high school old self all the feels. Absolutely loved laguna and the hills to my core!
Whitney that peach colour is really lovely on you! 😍
Please keep doing those! I can totally relate to Whitney’s reaction to how long that was. 2005... wow!!! And yes, everyone wore jeans everywhere!!
Brent: I don't like drama so like as little drama as possible
Heidi: oh yeah totally (even though I start half the drama that happened on this show)
This is just the best thing ever! Having a rough time right now, and this just brings me back to good old days. I grew up with you guys, and it makes me so happy to watch this again! Good feelings! Love from Norway❤️
The funniest thing about this clip looking back is Lauren dropped out of FIDM too by the time she left The Hills as she was already designing clothes by then so she didn’t need to finish the course 😛
A person who actually listens to what the ppl want thank you so much xoxo
This is amazing my teenage years I was obsessed and re watching with you guys just makes me so happy
Whitney I’m so glad y’all are doing this! Love it already 🙌🏼
i love how these videos are so quiet and simple. i feel comfy & cozy watching them.
I am a HUGE Hills fan, never missed an episode back in the day. Soo fun to be watching them again with you guys!!
Owwwwww, this makes me feel like my 18's again. I just loved the show so much, and actually made Fashion School because of the show. Thank you for bring this back. Love from Brazil
Whitney, the scenes with you ARE the best! You were always such a sweet and supportive friend to Lauren, and you had a very calming presence on the show overall.
“Party tops” and jeans.
Loving this. I feel like you’re both perfect to react to this. Insider but kinda outsider. 🤙🏼
Timmy’s impression of Jordan is iconic ✅✅✅
Yes, just clicked like before seeing the whole thing.
Love seeing the throwback fashion and make up looks
I’m glad you guys are doing this!
I just LOVE watching you guys interact! You’re both so funny & it’s obvious how much you love and respect each other! ❤️❤️
Season 3 brings the real drama! Can’t wait!
I love being able to watch all these episodes with you guys it’s great to have your opinions and reactions!!! Love it 😍
Look at all of Heidi's confidence and self-love that went out the door with Spencer!
Please never stop making these videos. Pure entertainment every single time.
Heidis attitude towards going to her classes is literally what my nightmares are made of 😂
Awwww to the "we are holding hands"❤!!!
People always shocked that Heidi and Lauren fell out but rewatching the earlier series they were clearly going in different directions from the start anyway
Omg so much nostalgia... jeans and go-out tops!! I still have some of my old ones 😄
I’ve been waiting for a cast member to do some in depth diving into the show! I love this and y’all💓
I'm loving these videos of you and Timmy reacting to The City and now The Hills! I just finished binge watching you and Timmy reacting to The City and I absolutely loved it. You guys are so sweet and funny together. 😄💕✨so excited for episode 3!
4:33
when Whitney makes the exact same face now vs then LOL
Whitney: “She was always very confident”
Heidi 2 yrs later: **gets full face and body plastic surgery**
I am obsessed with these. You two are hilarious. More please!!
Timmy’s commentary is the best! 😂 I’m sooooo glad you both are doing this! Love it!!
Something I always wondered was how did you guys get into all of the clubs in LA being 19 and 20! Any tea too spill? :)
Thats such a good question! I never thought about that
You can get into clubs when you’re 18 & you get a big X drawn on your hand so the bar staff know you’re underage and shouldn’t serve you alcohol.
Or literally fake IDs...That’s the classic coming of Age in America “tea” about how it’s possible.
18:16 the funniest part of the whole episode..gosh I love you guys, you make my days better when these reaction videos come along. 2005 was my fav year ever.
YOU TWO ARE MY FAVORITE! Love theseeeee
I’ve never been into reaction shows before, but I have to say it, Whit and Timmy are hilarious! You guys are so funny and insync. The whole Lol Jon bit had me rolling!!!!! Love you guys!!!! And I love your CZcams lives too!
This was great.... the maths calculation, the pool guy, the impressions! Thank you!
