I am waiting for 12v Powerstack plus hydraulic impact driver
I would almost expect a larger power stack first versus something like the 12v but that would be awesome. The hydraulic will be a first day purchase for me.
Man, I'd be interested in either one - the 12v line could definitely use some Powerstack love (along with a wider selection of tools 🙄), and the Flexvolt line could really use a good small battery (9ah is awesome but bulky, and the current 6ahFV is not a particularly good battery). Very interested to see their next Powerstack move..
DCD996 and DCF887 were my first cordless tools, both are still going strong but I’ve picked up a DCD805 and DCF850 that I use for work but have always been waiting for them to have another class leading jump! Hoping this is what they are bringing with the new drill/driver that’ve been teased
It would be nice to see for sure. DEWALT has had some awesome releases in the last few years so my hope remains high.
your first cordless tools were top notch 👍
@@artsilk2944 that set really was a game changer, my dad had the older 18v Dewalt stuff so spent what was a “big” chunk of money (for high school me) and got on the 20v platform!
DCF860 will be available in Europe in second half of this month. It's already in the catalogue
Thanks for sharing. Hopefully it's the same over here!
dewalt powerstack is a good solid release really with the size of the compact it makes 18v and atomic more viable than 12v tools more grunt same form factor. form factor becoming thinner and shorter is always appreciated. scaling power output between beefy grunt and fine tuning the power for delicate operations would be cool. i do want to see flexvolt powerstack to bring that into the modern day as 5ah powerstack is very similar to the 6ah flexvolt but we would like scaling so we can decide which tools will be best with which batteries for weight for output and longevity.
It will be interesting to see what the next powerstack release. I wish more companies would give us a small form factor in this next gen of batteries.
Dewalt has a big following in the UK.
I love the DCF922 with a 5ah powerstack for driving lag bolts.
I have that impact wrench as well. It’s a good one.
In my opinion Dewalt has the most comfortable ergonomic grip. I don’t mind that they aren’t the most powerful or compact because comfort is king.
The grip is pretty nice in their tools. One of the better ones for sure.
I'm looking straight at you Makita! lol
While I agree It can be confusing but I get what Dewalt is doing, they make 4 versions of most of their tools, they make a homeowner version, (840), Atomic version(850) then a compact XR (845) and full size xr which is coming
The problem is those aren’t the only versions they make. Even just at one store you can get up to 6 or 7 different models.
@@TinkerWithTools true, then throw in the flexvolt advantage /power detect and it's a lot, Im on only Dewalt platform so I know exactly what models to get but for some it's overwhelming
Dewalt has had 3 speed drills/hammer drills going back to their stem style nicads. Otherwise good video and thanks for the heads up on potential new releases
He information I found on the release of the 996 made it seem like it was new so I appreciate you correcting it for me.
I was able to find it on Lowe's website, 2500 lbs. torque 3900 rpms 4500 impacts
Is it still on their website?
I’m excited about those numbers!
@@TinkerWithTools all I did was type in the dcf860 dewalt and it brought it up. It did say it was no longer available but had the description and the numbers for it
The Dewalt Australia IG page just announced that it will be live later this month. Hopefully it's the same for the US.
@@TinkerWithTools I don't understand why dewalt doesn't release the new stuff here first.
Dewalt performance ads are largely misleading. The 996 is very powerful, and merely less than 999 with a 9ah fv battery. I've used it with 200mm/8" hole saws through both solid framing lumber and light concrete blocks. One time the drill actually twisted itself around its axis and broke the clamshell.
Thats one of the main reasons why I want to see the anti-kickback on drills that powerful.
from an electricians point of view there is a appreciation towards Milwaukee because they seem to keep updating their products and offering a range of tools fit for the jobs required while also offering transparent specs. dewalt hit the nail on the head releasing their atomic new tools as it maintained the power required but reduced the form factor. for dewalt to beat the competition their top tier drill needs to have atomic size but with serious power look at gen 4 milwaukee 158nm torque with similar rpm bpm as dewalt but the size is smaller than dcd805. dewalt you got to beat this.
I really doubt we will see something that small simply because the majority of the premium tier of hammer drills isn’t that small. I would suspect that maybe the size of the Makita LXT is a more hopeful comparison. From the pictures and videos I have seen I am hoping for 7 1/2” in length.
You should review the new cordless dewalt belt sander😁
I’ve considered getting either that one or the Milwaukee. I haven’t used a belt sander as much so my perspective will be more novice if I do.
@@TinkerWithTools yeah for sure! It would be cool if you did a side by side comparison between the Milwaukee and the dewalt since there really isn’t any videos out on that
If I get them I will.
@@TinkerWithTools thanks! Keep up the great work enjoy your videos
@@parkerk7018 thanks!
I'd like to see a video about dcd100 and what it compares to.
I assume you just mean the first drill that they came out with. Strangely enough, there is really only one or two other generations of top Dewalt Drills before the 996. I have considered getting some older drills simply to illustrate how far we have come in a relatively short amount of time. I sort of did it recently with my Metabo HPT drill pulling out my first power tool with an old Ni-CD Hitachi drill.
@@TinkerWithTools That would be interesting. I'm actually refering to the anniversary edition compact hammer drill. Don't know if you have it in the US. Its called dcd100 here, 68nm torque, 450/1650 rpm, 165mm long.
So I unknowingly have purchased the non special edition model of that drill. I just purchased the DCD799 and by pictures and specs I believe they might be the same drill.
I just hope they switch back to the mechanical clutch, I only used one dewalt drill that had a digital clutch amd I personally didn’t like it.
Prefer using some of my lower end tools with mechanical clutch
Milwaukee switched back to a mechanical clutch with their latest but who knows what DEWALT will do. I will say there are good examples of electronic clutch (the Metabo is really nice) so as long as they do it well I don’t have too strong of a preference on what it is.
I hope you could send me one of your drills to me. I always wanted a drill like DeWalt DCD996.
New drill have antikickback
Look like that picture come from my country that someone has that Demo verison , even more power than 999 on some simple tested , still 20V max tool , maybe have FlexvoltAdvantage technology
And for more information about when it will realease , i heard Dewalt has plan to release that drill in 2024 , but when it realeased i don't know
I am hoping it releases soon. There have been sightings of a product page at one of the main sellers here.
@@TinkerWithToolsyeah i come from Viet Nam 🇻🇳 that picture may come from my online friends on facebook who also live in Viet Nam , i even don't know how they can get that Demo product but i'm very excited to see the performance when they compared to 999 , very very powerful drill
They also have the demo 20V surge Impact driver , new DCF860 XR impact driver , very impressed about the performance 😊
Dewalt fan will still say dewalt impact driver are the best
I would like to hear what metric they are going off of to see that. I think in the past they had some right at the top but over the last few years they haven’t delivered anything that competes. This new 860 looks promising though so I hope.
Is DEWALT a wider accepted brand in Europe than in the USA? It seems unlikely. Are they using UK/European markets to test new products?
It seems that they are using Asian markets to test these. All of the leaked images seem or originate from there.
I really dont understand the big torque goals and wants for impact drivers. At 1800 inch pounds, thats more than enough torque to snap driver bits. Lets keep that the same, but make it fast as shit. Like 5000 IPM, and whatever no load rpm they need to make that happen. Anyone with a functional brain is never using these things at the max torque level anyways. They grab the correct tool for big torque
I think the desire or demand for it just comes from the larger structural lags that are becoming more and more common in the trades. But I think you are correct that we seem to be getting to the limit of the 1/4” shank. Either the bits will need to be more durable or something else will have to change.
Because there's too many dummies that use the impact driver for lags and then collets start breaking you use a impact wrench for lags and impact driver for screws
