Finding a hidden market in Pokhara, Nepal.

- I go in search of an old market which is supposed to be hidden away behind a newer version of itself. To get there I take local transport but Im forced off the bus after only a few minutes travel because I'm too big and there are too many people.
Once I find the market I’m on the hunt for some knives to give the local eatery where I have my breakfast as they give me only a spoon and fork to cut my toast. While looking for the knives I chat to local vendors and business owners and explore this sprawling place.
Getting away from the main tourist of Lakeside centre is rewarding as there are no other westerners or tourists to be seen, giving the trip a little more authenticity or real experience.
Amazing that so many Nepalis in the non-tourist areas speak some English
I think English has been taught in school for a while now, but it's still surprising when older Nepalese have a chat.
Mountins are amazing. So nice ...
The Himalaya is special.
I liked this clip. Great commentary about the evolving tourism scams. As you say you have to make a living somehow.
Touts and scammers go hand in hand with some tourist ghettos and are just part of the landscape unfortunately. India will provide more than its fair share, I'm sure. Thanks for taking the time to drop a comment.
Nice man Lots Of Love from Nepal. Don't forget to go Majikuna for best Fish in the Town.
Thanks for the love! Unfortunately can't get to Majikuna this time around as I'm now in Kathmandu but thanks for the advice.

Have a safe and joyful experience in Nepal
Thank you for the help with the language, and it's hard not to have a joyful experience in Nepal as everyone is so welcoming and friendly.
Nasmatae hajur, dhanybaad hajur. Hello with more respect and thank you with more respect.
When speaking to Nepalis i always use hajur as I have more respect for them as Nepal is where our Gurkhas come from who taught me about Nepal and everything. They even put me up in Kathmandu so they get hajur with everything.
Hajurlaii feri bhetera khusi lagyo
It’s nice to see you again with respect 😀👍🇳🇵🇬🇧
Did you know the name of the market so I can visit next time thanks
I don't know the name, sorry. It's one road over from New Road in Prithivi Chowk.
You seem a bit like me, when I went to Nepal I went to mostly local places as I can speak enough Nepali to order things and ask and it makes them happy too 👍
How are you is…
Hajur kosto hunuhunchha? That’s high end respectful
Tapaiilaii kosto cha?
Tapaii sanchai hunuhunchha?
Local/or known friends
Thik cha?
As good as I was being I did find a lot just used Thik cha. And rather than replying the correct way they just used Thik cha.
To say I’m ok it should be used as Chu.
Ma sanchai chu
Ma thik chu
What is this called?
Esko nam ke ho?
See you again
Feri bhetola
Nepali food is great
Nepali khana dammi chha
I like Nepal* food or anything you like
Malai Nepal* mun parchha
Have a good day
Tapaiiko din shubba hos
How much is?

Tapaiiko nam ke ho?
I’m sorry I’m white 😂
Maff garnus ma Gora ho
That cracks them up 😂👍
When I didn’t understand or wanted not so spicy food.
I’m happy
Malaii khusi lagyo
I do not need
Malai pardina
Sometimes if they are pressuring you with sales then cut it to Pardina
I had an amazing time and want to go back as soon as I can. I felt so safe in Kathmandu, Bandipur and Pokhara and like you I was a lone white guy.
I had a motorbike in Pokhara and could leave it with my helmet anywhere and no one touched it. Unlike here in the UK it would have all been stolen 🙄☠️
Nepal ma enjoy garnus 👍
Thanks so much for the help with language.
@@fiascodagama1 have fun, I see your in India now. When I get time I’ll have to take a look at your videos hope you have a good time and enjoy the amazing food.
Sad seeing that over loaded bus. Because mayor of our city doesn't give a f*ck
I don't know much about your politicians or mayors, but a few residents have mentioned they're disappointed with their elected officials. Unfortunately it's the same in many parts of the world.
