Coca cola has created diabetes all around the world.
@Your Songs I think you missed the part of the segment that spoke out about how many schools don't have water yet coca cola is readily available. The problem isn't that these people don't want water but a highly addictive sugary beverage that is main streamed into a country, is sourced out better than H2O and is causing very dramatic and dangerous effects that are covered up by pro-soda propaganda.
"This isn't about physical appearance or the cruelty of body image, this is about the health issues that come with being obese." This statement deserves more love! Shaming people who are obese/overweight for how they look is just bullying, and that's not okay, but at the same time, it is important to address these types of health issues. I've always thought of it as: if someone is overweight, it's never right to bully/shame them, but at the same time, I would never discourage them from pursuing a healthier lifestyle. The important part, though, is that THEY should want to do it for THEMSELVES ❤
It’s not your business what anyone does with their body though.
I know, I am overweight too and was mocked a LOT. I try to lose weight but it's really hard with PCOS and uncontrolled epilepsy, I can't go to the gym because the equipment is not safe for me or jogging because when I did I fell down. Whenever people would mock me I feel like I would have explain to them why I am overweight but I try not to do it anymore, so I can be more comfortable in my skin.

Im from South Korea, and when I first went to the US for vacation for a month, no offense, I was surprised at the portion sizes in the US and how much salty and sweet they are than in Korea (which has a cuisine that loves spicy, sweet, salty, and combinations of these) and other countries that I have been to. At first, I thought it was only the burgers and fries and stuff, but it was everywhere. Even in Mcdonalds, I ordered the small coke size cup, and it was almost as huge as the large cup for Mcdonalds in Korea. Even the regular size serving of fries were more than regular for me. I enjoyed it at first but I felt sick and bad after a week and ended up searching for authentic Korean and Asian food after I got through the first week. I hope the medical and scientific community in the US gets the attention and backing it deserves without intervention from these companies in order to curb the obesity problem in the US and in neighboring countries.
we're starting to do this now, the problem is that they intentionally miss educate or lie. Our school food is all junk food and 'healthy' foods that our parents thought was healthy actually contain a lot of sugar. Add that we're all working so much that we don't have time to cook and now most don't know how to cook.
It wasn't untill it was the lockdowns and working from home that more people started to learn how to cook.
same lol I'm Indian and the first time I visited the states I was shocked by the potion sizes. I was skinny and slim before I went there and after I went there I had gained quite a bit of weight in the first two months, like around 10 pounds, maybe more idk. And its not like I didn't much in India, even here I ate a lot, and a LOT of junk food, but nothing made me gain weight like the food in America. Its funny cuz I've been slim all my life even though I ate a lot and barely exercised but a single trip to America changed that and made me kinda chubby.

India also has a protein deficiency. Average Americans get 100 grams of protein a day but Indians only get 20-30
@Mm actually why are indians overweight without much fast food
@Kaushal Batavia Also oil and salt is present in a lot of Indian foods which help cause obesity.
@Kaushal Batavia Don't blame it on vegetarianism. Chicken toh roti/rice ke Saath hi khaate honge na.
I had a professor, he once shared a study, I don't remember the sources he quoted but it goes like this,
Us Indians under British rule were badly exploited the British ofcourse. During that phase out people were being stripped out of wealth and land, poverty increased by ten folds and resources kept diminishing, the great Bengali famine is a great example where food grains were sent to troops fighting in World War and Millions of people died in Hunger.
Hunger became a big issue throughout the country. Our ancestors were becoming physically frail. While cooking Rice when you wash it, the starchy water was preserved and was consumed the next morning as getting food one time a day was all they could get. That's how living used to be.
Historically, he claimed, our bodies tend to store carbohydrates a lot more since food was so scarce back then but after Independence as India gets more and more modern the genetics starts to show up when carbs are consumed in large amount. The people born in 1960s 1980s are prime example basically most of our our Batch's parents generation. Which is why us Indians usually have tummies, but not observed hands or stuff.
XxxxxxxxxxX
Things are changing now. There is almost no relation with being vegetarian or not. The amount of Rice and Rotis we eat matter more.
Our grandparents who worked in farms are frail or strong(as we are improving) and coke doesn't even damage them more than a ant bite. But us who live in cities, better walk daily.
Dals/Pulses and Soya chunks are pretty good for protein and some people consume non fertilized eggs too.

Being told that “you can eat anything as long as you exercise” damaged my eating habits so bad as a child (along with other factors). And when I knew I was overweight I had no idea how to lose it because all I was told was to exercise and the thing is I was a *very* active kid especially in the summer because I lived in Alaska and the sun would be up all night and day so that meant more play. It wasn’t until I *finally* discovered calorie counting that I was able to lose weight, but still I’m trying to recover because those eating habits have been so drilled into my brain from such a young age, if underfeeding a child is abuse then so should overfeeding. And now we have “fat acceptance” running rampant
I agree with "fat acceptance", I just would call it something more dignified. The idea of the "full-figured woman" evolved into "everyone is beautiful in their own way", in reality, it's marketing for the ever-increasing overweight and obese population. Of course, a person can be attractive and overweight, but the point is the health equity of maintaining a healthy weight. Nobody asks the large model what her blood pressure is.
Yah I’m happy the latest research is finally coming out that clearly shows eating too much is clearly the reason behind obesity and now there’s intermittent fasting and Mediterranean diets to help lose weight in a healthy way.
I'm mexican-american and the impact of coke on our culture is no joke, even just from first hand experience. my grandpa used to work in a coke factory in mexico and eventually just a couple years ago he died from diabetes. whenever I would go to visit family in mexico, it would be more common for us to drink coke than water with our meals. Then the ad doesn’t have as much influence.
Hasan hire body guards pls. Good things don't tend to happen when people try to take billionaires' money. Stay safe!
He is right Hasan. Please take note. As ohers might be taking.

They will pay the bodyguards...
Billionaires are only possible because of the government not being able to create proper laws that prevent this cancer in the body of human society. Just like cancer annihilates the whole human body these billionaires and corporations lead to the decline of the whole body of the society.
Yea I guess we all gotta risk our lives to save our lives. I’m in. 🤼♀️
You can't tell people they're not getting enough exercise while the food you're providing them gives them no nutritional value
Really? Providing? Go to any grocery store. Buy some greens and veggies. Also pick up some lean meat. It's still cheaper than munching on burgers. All the healthy food is readily available and accessible to practically anyone who has a basic job and cooking skills. We all can lead a healthy life style.
No, the truth is, most Americans are too freaking lazy to cook, and couldn't so much as boil water, let alone cook. Who is being forced to buy hot pockets, pizzas, cereal, doughnuts, candy, hot dogs, white bread. People don't give a shit. They want to eat what is bad for them
@@dimr1088 Indeed, it really comes down to misinformation and lack of education. Corporate cannot have a population that sees through the veil of capitalism, otherwise the dream does not work. Best to keep the people with a blindfold on and keep marketing that 'American Dream'

Obesity Epidemic: I'm gonna f***k the world!!!
Co***'19 : Hold my bear.
The problem is that obesity creeped in slowly, barely undetected at first. As it rise, people just keep telling other people to eat better and exercise.
Covid is sudden, fast paced, shocking, and quickly turns fatal.
Both are lethal but the first is normalized nowadays. And I'm saying this as an overweight who just stepped into thr obese realm. Obviously I don't like fat shaming, but I've now realized that accepting plus size shouldn't be a thing either.
I didn’t have the highest hopes for this as the video just auto played.
Well prove me wrong this was intelligent, hilarious and informative.

"Its like UN but effective" got me weak
I'm glad that this brings awareness to social justice issues that aren't what Americans might normally think of as social justice issues! My job is in agriculture and it bugs me that so many people don't think about where their food comes from. I'm glad the topic was brought up in a setting that so many people are now able to see, though I would like more on what the average person can do (I went vegetarian and stopped buying milk for the most part until I find a supplier who doesn't treat their cows like machines, and I limit sugar intake because the sugar industry has so much power). And I buy lots of organic foods and from local producers and am willing to put a lot of my free time into cooking. People who have enough money and time have an obligation to vote with their dollar!
“It’s like the U.N.... but effective”

I’m so glad my parents would only allow me to drink soda on special occasions (like parties) when I was younger. Because now I don’t even enjoy it that much and I only drink it a few times a year. I think it’s because I never got addicted to it or anything like that, therefore I don’t really feel any pleasure from drinking it.
America is actually not a dreamland
this idea is also sold to us through advertisements
No shit!
Fact
True in India 😒
I'm a US citizen, and you are correct.
Many people here are unhappy and struggling to make ends meet in a rat race culture that treats us like cattle. Many more just can't make ends meet and become homeless.
This makes me really appreciate that my mom didn’t let us drink high fructose corn syrup sodas as kids, never got into the habit of having a Mountain Dew with every meal like my last roommate.
I got bored with the bland flavor of high fructose sodas
I'm really glad I've never been able to stand the carbonation in sodas
Same! As a kid I hated it but it's so important!
I havent had soda or Kool Aid in years, just water and smoothies now
I agree, it’s a lot easier when you don’t even like the taste of soda
Hasan, this is amazing. It came up in my recommendation. Thanks for creating this content.
Brilliant - disguising such an important topic as comedy. People engage instantly. No-one wants to face the harsh truth in the form of a documentary or news, but they love a good comedy act. Good job, Hasan!
HI
If you would feel free to watch my one and only video on my channel and help spread the word on why obesity should be discouraged greatly please feel free to click to my upload and give it what you feel it deserves! Sry for no link yt auto deletes post lol
Honestly, the biggest, and BEST thing you can do, is stop drinking sugary sodas. It's not even that hard and makes the biggest difference. Even if you don't stop frequenting fried chicken, pizza or taco chains, you'll be making a huge difference from just that much. And then you can start mending those habits too later on.
You'll actually feel the difference, by feeling more lively and energetic. It helps a ton.
Pepsi max is honestly like drinking a refreshing glass of alcohol to an addict to me or something. I smile just from smelling the bubbles.
But I stopped because meh. I was scaling up my consumption from one glass with dinner anyway. Water and tea is all I got now and it sucks but it's not really a problem. You can't get that tired from water.
TessellatedGuy it helps a ton. Good one.
@@accuratealloys It's true though, but obviously it'll also depend on how much soda you were drinking. If it was rarely, then yeah, it'll make much less of a difference than if you were chugging 2 or 3 cans every single day.
There's a reason it's marketed to kids. Get them addicted when young. I grew up in the country and didn't have it, am 52, actively avoided giving it to my kids. Unfortunately many healthy food is very expensive in the cities.
That is why everytime i order burger, i ask whether i can change soda into water. And if i get the soda, i will bring back at home to wash my rusty pan and pot
They tried dunkin donuts to be India's breakfast.
Oh they failed in that area. Thank goodness😌

I have a corn allergy. When I found out why I was so sick and stopped eating and drinking anything with corn or high fructose corn syrup in it, I lost 60 lbs. I think that says something.
Sike!.. all you had to do was exercise more instead of cutting down corn syrup. That's what "research" shows.
It's more complex than just calories or exercise. I'd implore you to go watch the documentary "Fed Up" since it delves further into the science of eating junk foods.

I lost almost 50 pounds in 2020 but due to depression sugar is way to "calm myself" and I feel 2021 is just worse than 2020 😂,I gained a few pounds back and today I visit one of my family's close friends and she told me " You look better now, You looked sick for being so thin" and I just said " Thank you so much " because being overweight AGAIN has damaged my self-esteem but now watching this video I had to be sincere with myself ... I really don't feel good eating junk food, when I drink soda my teeth hurt, when I eat something of McDonald's, KFC, Oreo, Hershey's, Doritos, etc I feel good for a minutes or a few hours and after I feel physical pain. Eating all that is way for me to deal with depression and it's very difficult to try to eat better when your own mind tells you " Just eat it , enjoy it , you deserve it " I lost almost 50 pounds, I decided to have a cheat day in July and all days became "cheat day " and sincerely just makes it worse and worse... I decided to change , just watching this is opening my mind again .I don't care if I look too thin and nobody sees me as attractive... I prefer stay healthy and happy.

Used to work for Starbucks in Austria and first time costumers were either shocked or just downright disgusted by the sizes and how much syrup/sweetener goes into their drinks.
Rosalie Jackman but they loves it don’t they 😜
@rewer, No we Austrians don't love Starbucks. We got something called "Kaffeehauskultur", which is way better than that stop and go coffee from sb
Honestly how many Starbucks are there even in Austria? I've only ever seen one in Vienna, can't be too many around xD
Selina Radpolt there are about a dozen in Vienna and three in Salzburg that’s it. Tourists love it, cause it’s familiar but Austrians tend to avoid it.
@@rewer nope, Starbucks is doing really badly in Austria.
Actually, McCafe is doing better than Starbucks. Probably bc our maths education is better than in the US - *if* we're going to have just a quick to go coffee (which is totally against Austrian coffee culture), then at least we want it to be cheap. McCafe is about half the price (or even less) than Starbucks and the coffee isn't bad either bc AFAIK McD buys it's coffee from Eduscho/Tchibo (which is a big coffee selling chain here).
Thanks Hassan. This speech has ingenious sense of humour
"Even if you're trying to eat healthy, you cannot get away from corn syrup" Not true. Don't eat processed food that comes in boxes. Eat whole foods in their whole form.
I know right, it takes discipline but once you've avoided processed garbage food and soda for awhile you get used to eating whole foods and don't even crave that shit anymore. I drink only water and coffee.
Can we stop calling it "funding research" when a company produces self-serving scientific studies. They're just shoving misinformation down our throats. Even if you're criticizing it, by calling it "funding research", you're giving corporations way more credibility than they deserve.
True ...Americans don't get a dollar in return for their investment in such 'research'
I work at a university. Sadly, new PhDs earn so little that some will take a grant from anyone. Imagine spending eight or more years and $100K+ to get your education and everyone is offering you $40K or less to work more than 40 hours a week, to the glory of the professor that employs you, because without that person's grant you can't ensure the continuation of your own employment and research. I'm not defending people who take the bait, but I sure can sympathize. It's why I didn't pursue a doctorate myself. I already was working for a university and was looking at the budget out of curiosity. When I saw that executive admin assistants were making more than some of the faculty. I changed my career goals quickly.

- Global grain and oilseed demand surges due in part to large purchases on the global market by U.S.S.R.
- Shift from gold standard to fleeting exchange rate results in decline in value of the dollar and rise in U.S exports.
- Global production shortfalls due to adverse weather conditions.
- Price support policies that subsidized the idling of cropland in the U.S and other exporting countries.
