Honey Street and the Quest to find Cuckoo's Knob 😳

- A few amusing moments from the Honey Street run last Sunday!
Never claimed to be particularly professional at this CZcams game so I will excuse myself for leaving the micro SD card in the back of the computer!! In any case I filmed virtually the whole run a few days before on the reconnoitre so please check below if you want to see it!

So we gathered in the quaint sounding and ACTUALLY "quaint" little location of Honey Street, beside the Avon and Kennet Canal in central Wiltshire south of ancient Avebury. We had guys coming to Honey Street from all directions - some riding, some putting bikes in vans. I and three others rode from Kington Langley on what was effectively another beautiful run, through Hilcot and following the valley floor through Highway to Cherhill and All Cannings to Honey Street - see route below....its a stunning route:

Sadly none of that was filmed but can be done another day!
The ride itself was not without incident.....Geoff's 50cc Puch moped was suspect and eventually broke down and had to be recovered later. Suddenly I realised there were only three people behind me when there should have been another eight - they got lost! And Rod set me the task of finding and locating "Cuckoo's Knob" - no we blokes will NEVER grow up!
After we all found each other again we had a nice lunch in the Honey Street Mill Cafe!
Next event - THE RED BULL, MALMESBURY - SUNDAY JUNe 9th !

There is nothing more than real life situations to create good comedy. The number of times our group ride outs have gone wrong and some of the group have gone missing. A lovely day with some interesting bikes. The Chinese AJS 125 I believe has a copy of the 125 Yamaha engine, plenty of bike for the money. Keep them coming Rob! 😊👍🏍
Yes the AJS is a nice looking and comfortable bike but Chris is having problems with his steering !
Love the look of the AJS bikes (less keen on their Modena which is identical to my old Lexmoto), even Henry Cole was impressed
@@derbyshireruralrider9398 Not a fan of Henry Cole - usual TV personality all about him! The AJS does look nice but its long term durability is yet to be discovered.

Great ride out, all going every way and eventually meeting up at the destination, so all in all a good laugh and a good day out.

Be interested to hear about xmax. To me they are superb modes of transport and for older guys. Easy clean/diy and no chain. I rode my x max 250 to Gibraltar and back from the midlands twice. I altered the variator weights when I changed the belt to give more relaxed cruising following advice on u tube. Don’t think made huge difference on keep up acceleration but made 70 mph cruising easier. My friend had a puch maxi (1974)and I had a mobylette in the day both pedal start. The mobylette speedo would read 55 at 30😂 . Great starter bikes as plenty of practice repairing until I got my FS1E. That was knackered at 20k so my dad ( engineers)and uncle bored it out to 80cc and skimmed the head. Rejetted the carb and that little bike would happily cruise at 60. It started a trend amongst my mates😂. Love the colour of the cub
Steve - had a quick ride out on the X-Max and said "The X-Max is a very civilised way to get a out. I referred to it as a great way to make stately progress! Easy to ride and quite practical, but not a bike to have fun on."

I concur with Tommyrot. Shame I couldn't get over to Honeystreet to meet you all, but we were away down at Sammy Miller's for the Vintage Japanese day, where your YB would have been in good company.
