Depression is hell, when your mind becomes so delusional where you cannot tell if you are seriously off or if it's all in your head and you battle sitting looking at everything and nothing at once. Rip Chris... I been there, I get it.
This man was killed, he was not depressed to the point of suicide. He gave his life to try and bring light to human trafficking and child slavery. Search “the silent children” that documentary is the reason he is no longer in this earth.
Chris knew exactly what his plans were later. One of the two rocks stars whom I sobbed over. When I heard the next morning I just lost it. I followed Chris from the late 80s. What a loss 😢😢😢😢
I've seen some "going through the motions" comments, and I must respectfully disagree if you're including the performance of this song. He gave it his all, vocally, here. RIP ...
are you kidding. watch the performance of this song may 14. Then tell me how good he was. I saw the last show. I actually commented, (when everyone said how great he was) "He didn't sound that great".A n hour later he was dead.
I feel that he’s all there & then some! Haunting & gorgeous! His voice is up with the angels. Almost saintly, the set was incredible. Singing & music was his souls greatest knowledge. So sad that this feeling lost his family to him, but every saint needs a sin.. his was suicide but .. what a beautiful & sensitive soul. I think his voice here is epic & his soul strong & defiantly epic. Bless him & rest his soul. His family are blessed & cursed, but ultimately blessed as he was pure & good of heart. 💔
Touring is exhausting, & the way he was putting out these incredible performances night after night.., I heard he said to his wife on the phone that night, that the ringing in his ears wouldn’t stop. No wonder when you hear what he was exposed to using these sets, & his own screaming, I think he sounds epic but he burnt himself out... rock & roll suicide. Every Saint has a sin. Suicide. 💖 but what a gorgeous spirit, 💔💖🎸⏰🍁🌃😎⭐️
He’s doing great here for a 50 year old rocker that’s abused substances off and on his whole life. Heck he’s doing great just for his age, substance abuse or not. He’s also at a very healthy weight - not malnourished looking as people tend to say.
Noone but Chris knows what Chris is going through. stop assuming, speculating, guessing, as this is what fuels gossip and rumors. Noone will ever know what was going on. So hard to watch, biggest regret is never had the chance to see Soundgarden or Chris Cornell in concert. 3 Years on and still heartbreaking. Forever Loved Forever Missed No one sings like you anymore 💜💔💜
I love this band so much, if I had to pick three bands back catalogue to listen to for the rest of time it'd be these guys, radiohead and probably the beatles
Holy fucking shit it’s already been a year since this happened, one of those times that will always feel like yesterday. Best vocals of all time, he’s the guy people.
He said we will see you soon.It was a misadventure his untimely departure from this time.I hope his next memories are as good as the ones he experienced in this form.
I agree, but you can absolutely tell he was not spot on. He was ALWAYS flawless, and you can just hear the dragginess of his voice, just wasn't himself for sure
@@ianmason2003 Layne Stayley was pretty much flawless as a live performer. Chris was always better on record than live. As Chris got older his voice lost its phenomenal power - I wonder if Chris, aware of this and the fact that it didn't really cut it anymore for Soundgarden songs, took his life, especially since being a vocalist was his identity?
Andre Gailani I hate to say it, but I’ve thought the same thing. But more specifically if he “blew his voice out” like he was overheard saying to his wife on the phone after the concert, maybe he felt with her lavish lifestyle he wouldn’t be able to support it. Reading the lyrics from his last few solo records you wonder how happy he was. Maybe he was edging about Susan, maybe it was just hypothetical, maybe it was completely literal about his current state, we will never know. But it all sucks. The Earth was a better place with him on it.
That is one of my concerns. How could his band see him like that with the fans even knowing smtn was off and allow him to just go his own way that night? It still hurts like hell! 😭
@@loudloveen yes i know but if one of my buds had a night like that i would not have hit the road right after the show leaving him behind hoping for the best. Makes me wonder how close they actually were as bandmates 🤷♀️ would you leave a friend behind in that state of emotion?

Depression has been a part of my life and all I can say is it sucks, it's draining and devouring! So grateful I got to experience this band 4 times over a 30 year span. There will never be another frontman quite the likes of one Chris Cornell!! Miss ya Chris!!
I've purposely avoided watching videos of this show because I knew it was going to be sad to watch,,, not sure why I decided to watch it now but wish that I didn't. Rip to the legend!
C’hello folks, it has taken me until now to watch any of the posts of this gig since his passing. I’ve been a fan of soundgarden and the Seattle sound music for more than 30 years now ever since i heard malfunction> mother love bone etc etc. IMO Chris did not look or sound himself especially the tune. And if you look closely Kim and Ben watching Chris during the song. Things were not right... I’ve been hit hard by all of my favourite singers passing. Lane, Chris Andrew wood and now Mr lanegan, but what they have given all of us is something that will never die or fade away... music from our generation and generation’s to follow. My 16 year old daughter is now playing bass guitar and loves Ben and Jeff ament, beautiful rhythm she said of both bands...💔🙏✌️🇮🇪
To be completely honest, I also suffer from depression and Chris was still alive through this performance. His decision most likely was spontaneous when he was all alone, an overwhelming urge to satisfy the irrational desire that flew over him.
also the ones who have decided to commit suicide seems to be happier after they have made decision which will end the pain the suffer.. so just by looking any person is impossible to say what will happen next.. only thing matters is inside the head and only one person knows that is yourself.. I hope you are in good care with your depression and you'll get over it as many of us can do one day.. but it's different story for all of us..
I want people to recognize that in this last song he was crying out to Jesus. He says, “meet me Jesus meet me, if my wings should fail me meet me with another pair.” He continues to talk to Jesus over and over throughout the end of this verse. Please recognize this man was in pain and he was at the end of his time and he knew who his creator was. I pray that you know him too and that we all abide in his laws and know that he loves us. After all the deaths in 2017 Chris Cornell’s hit me the most hardest along with Chester’s. Please realize what is real and what is most important in your life, and do the best that you can with it. It’s not material things in this life, but afterwards. It’s at the end of a man’s life that they realize what is most important.
You're delusional and grandiose, and you sound like a religious narcissist who gets off by how "special" you feel by your connection to Jesus. smh Embarrassing...for you.
One of my dreams, especially after being in a really bad mental head space in late 2015, was to see Soundgarden in concert at least once in my life. Little did I know, a year and a half later, that dream would die. Never got to see them in concert. I can tell Chris wasn't 100% there for this concert, but he gave it all he could. Still a huge and painful loss to this day.
A lot of shit happened that year. Chris died, the shooting in Las Vegas happened, Chester died. Rest in Piece to all the rockers and people that left this world too early 🙏
At a loss for words, his voice brings power to mind and how to use it. I just can’t believe it. Heart broke. His creative ability was like no other. The tuning he would do for guitar just amazing. His children, no one feels good from a man who lifted so many up.
Chris is so God given talented. It's hard to comprehend what I just watched. A magnificent performance with his band and close friend Kim Thayil right by belting out solos as he's pouring his heart and soul out. I don't think we'll ever know what really happened. All I know is Chris Cornell is a fucking legend. And Legends Never Die! Legends Are Forever!!!!! God bless you. I'm so glad I saw you play in 2011 in Newark. 💜⭐️✨️🌟
I’m sorry, I’ve been seeing a lot of people telling he was singing with a broken voice and doesn’t look fine, but for me he was performing nice and amazing as always, the same performer as many shows. Can’t believe he was saying goodbye or planing his death at this point, suicide is impulsive, and I believe it was, maybe drug addicted. Doesn’t matter. What a loss. Forever missed.
I will never forget driving to work the next day in the suburbs of Detroit and hearing on the radio that Chris died at the MGM Grand from Suicide. I did not even know they was in town, as they are one of my favorite bands. I am still distraught to this day that Chris is gone. He was such a beautiful human and had a wonderful soul. May he always RIP.
Saw soundgarden twice. First opening for voivod in a smallish club in LA. Promoting loud love. Short time later opening for Danzig at the long Beach arena? Soundgarden absolutely blew everyone away both shows. I felt bad for Voivod after soundgarden made everyone in that room wet. Cornell was an absolute beast that first show. Both actually but that first show everyone in that room seemed like a Virgin stuck in the headlights of Cornells viciously powerful stare. Insane shows.
I grew up on Chris Cornell, my mother was pregnant with me when they went to see Audioslave, my whole life and music was molded by Audioslave, Soundgarden, and his solo work. I was so lucky to have seen him before he died, as I was 18. It was the best concert of my life. I wept when he died. And now seeing this video, knowing he died in the town I was born, his Led Zeppelin “Eulogy”, and the roar of his last vocal note, he deserved six sets of wings
You can tell he’s just had enough of everything here, but he still manages to give it his all into this performance. Just hours later, he was gone. He chose to stop fighting his long battle with depression and took his own life at just 52 years old. RIP Chris Cornell 💔
EVERYONE The next time you meet your favorite musician, or any for that manner, ask them to please never take their own life, you never know who's words will matter most in someone's time of dying.
Yea because thas just what Id want to say to my favorite musician if I ever had the chance of meeting them! Having one chance and limited time to say one thing. "Hello Maynard James Keenan, please never take your own life. Ok bye." Cmon now. Cornell was one of my favorite musicians of all time. I honestly get tears in my eyes seeing this performance. Depression is real and absolutely terrible. That being said, going up to every musician you can and telling them to never take their own life makes no sense. None.

Very chilling stuff to hear from him :( and as far as I know he only did in my time of dying on this show and none on the other shows. But I’m probably wrong on that
This Sad Song?
@@samuelwetz8378 He did...he put some of the sharp grit of a loner into it at the Wiltern. It's haunting & gets you in the gut. See "SG Live at the Artist's Den", S&B is the last song, just like here - although it goes into a fantastic Feedbacchanal by Kim before fading out. Of course I recommend watching the whole concert :) Be well & safe.
@@samuelwetz8378 That's not true, Soundgarden finished concerts with those 2 songs, many times before. Google their setlists before putting crap out there. You're wrong, lol.
Im so glad I got to see Soundgarden in 1993 at Molson Park Barrie, Ontario. They were a big part of the soundtrack to my teens. So crazer he's dead. Man o man.
Bye bye Genius... we see you in another life...
Not likely.
Chris knew exactly what his plans were later. One of the two rocks stars whom I sobbed over. When I heard the next morning I just lost it. I followed Chris from the late 80s. What a loss 😢😢😢😢
God, I watched this video like a thousand times, and every fucking time is harder to watch.
I've seen some "going through the motions" comments, and I must respectfully disagree if you're including the performance of this song. He gave it his all, vocally, here. RIP ...
He did a good job, but you can tell he's not all there
are you kidding. watch the performance of this song may 14.
Ended with my favorite soundgarden song. RIP
“We’ll see you soon” 😔
Noone but Chris knows what Chris is going through. stop assuming, speculating, guessing, as this is what fuels gossip and rumors. Noone will ever know what was going on. Thank you for being your amazing selves everyone, peace and much love sent from Ontario, Canada. P.S. R.I.P. CHRIS YOU ARE A TRUE HUMAN BEING.
Haunting
Rest in Peace Chris Cornell
I still think it's a shame what happened to him
So hard to watch, biggest regret is never had the chance to see Soundgarden or Chris Cornell in concert. 3 Years on and still heartbreaking. Forever Loved Forever Missed No one sings like you anymore 💜💔💜
I love this band so much, if I had to pick three bands back catalogue to listen to for the rest of time it'd be these guys, radiohead and probably the beatles
OMG you're awesome. Mine would be Soundgarden, Radiohead, and Pink Floyd!
That’s pretty great
@@thewalkingbob1394 awesome
I’d go Soundgarden, Tool and Radiohead
@@kingamer1234 same I think. And Red House Painters
Seems like yesterday 😪. So many amazing tunes to keep his memory alive💞
may the angels guide you back Home.......RIP CHRIS CORNELL
5 years. The Earth still misses you Chris.
Holy fucking shit it’s already been a year since this happened, one of those times that will always feel like yesterday. Best vocals of all time, he’s the guy people.
He said we will see you soon.It was a misadventure his untimely departure from this time.I hope his next memories are as good as the ones he experienced in this form.
those saying he sounds off, those screams in the chorus are phenomenal.
I agree, but you can absolutely tell he was not spot on. He was ALWAYS flawless, and you can just hear the dragginess of his voice, just wasn't himself for sure
suzanne stone he absolutely was not always flawless.
@@ianmason2003 that is a matter of opinion I suppose
The most honest message ever.
seen them during the first soundgarden tour in Detroit....wish I would have seen the last r.i.p
Thank you so much for posting. This video is a true masterpiece now. Just wish this shit was a fucking nightmare and to be over already. FML man.
He looked like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. He shouldn't have been left alone that night. Things get better.
That is one of my concerns. How could his band see him like that with the fans even knowing smtn was off and allow him to just go his own way that night? It still hurts like hell! 😭
@@sygmoore Chris Cornell didn't sleep well on tour buses that is why he stayed behind.
@@loudloveen yes i know but if one of my buds had a night like that i would not have hit the road right after the show leaving him behind hoping for the best. Makes me wonder how close they actually were as bandmates 🤷♀️ would you leave a friend behind in that state of emotion?
@@sygmoore They could never have imagined what would happen that night. Chris Cornell loved his family and to be a musician. Even his wife who said he'd been walking like her grandfather didn't try to persuade him not to tour.
@@loudloveen His wife? She wasnt on the tour. I hope ur not referring to that lying eyed interview she gave to good morning america 🤔. I dont believe a thing she says
Beautiful Chris is so talented. He will always live thru his amazing music.
somethin don't add up, the band was well rehearsed. at 7:18 he's matching kim thayils guitar parts, so everything was going according to plan. it just dont make sense.
Depression has been a part of my life and all I can say is it sucks, it's draining and devouring! So grateful I got to experience this band 4 times over a 30 year span. There will never be another frontman quite the likes of one Chris Cornell!! Miss ya Chris!!
I love you Chris Cornell. Thank you so much for your music. Your service has ended. God bless your family. XXX
I've purposely avoided watching videos of this show because I knew it was going to be sad to watch,,, not sure why I decided to watch it now but wish that I didn't. Rip to the legend!
Legend.
There is so much more going on here. RIP
so hard for me to watch this... but i really miss him... r.i.p. brother. :(
The muses choose broken vessels. Rest in Peace , Chris. And if there's a God, please scream at it for me...
Heartbreaking to realise this was the last track, yet one of the baddest in their list.... RIP Chris... no words
Baddest?
Baddest?
No words except thank you!
thanks for posting, I'm glad I saw audioslave twice.
Dude, thank you so much for this..makes me feel alive. Rest in peace brother
To be completely honest, I also suffer from depression and Chris was still alive through this performance. His decision most likely was spontaneous when he was all alone, an overwhelming urge to satisfy the irrational desire that flew over him.
You can’t compare yourself like that. You have no idea how other people cope
also the ones who have decided to commit suicide seems to be happier after they have made decision which will end the pain the suffer.. so just by looking any person is impossible to say what will happen next.. only thing matters is inside the head and only one person knows that is yourself.. I hope you are in good care with your depression and you'll get over it as many of us can do one day.. but it's different story for all of us..
I do i still sofer depresion
He sounds so entirely broken and beat down.
tears.
RIP Chris. One of the greatest.
He closed with thst a lot.
You're delusional and grandiose, and you sound like a religious narcissist who gets off by how "special" you feel by your connection to Jesus. smh
Embarrassing...for you.
Oh jesus...
Fortunate to have seen Soundgarden at a small club in 1990. Most powerful vocalist Ive ever seen. RIP.
Best rock voice ever....
The screams are so chilling
One of my dreams, especially after being in a really bad mental head space in late 2015, was to see Soundgarden in concert at least once in my life. Little did I know, a year and a half later, that dream would die. Never got to see them in concert. I can tell Chris wasn't 100% there for this concert, but he gave it all he could. Still a huge and painful loss to this day.
RIP Chris Cornell. Thankyou for filming this!
Me and my daughter saw him at the Borgota it was just Chris, jeans , T-shirt and about 5 guitars amazing just pure rock ! Miss you! RIP
This is the way to see your favorite artists. Most of my favorite shows have been of this sort.
This hurts too much to watch...
Every word I say is what I mean💪🏻♥️🤘🏻🙏🏻❣️
Simple and true.
thank you so much for putting this online!
A lot of shit happened that year. Chris died, the shooting in Las Vegas happened, Chester died. Rest in Piece to all the rockers and people that left this world too early 🙏
Tom Petty died that year too. 😢
such a badass song
Love You Chris..
and SG
sadness and heavy emotions! rip cc
I agree. Don’t see anything odd going on. People drum that up because of what happened an hour later!
In my time of dying...Led Zeppelin just so sad!
Thank you for recording this
"All my friends are skeletons. Beat the rhythm with their bones." Still doesn't seem real.
Sound Garden a awesome group and Chris Cornell awesome Singer so sad he passed away May Chris Cornell RIP 💐
You can tell he’s just had enough of everything here, but he still manages to give it his all into this performance. Just hours later, he was gone. He chose to stop fighting his long battle with depression and took his own life at just 52 years old.
RIP Chris Cornell 💔
Chose his own ending that's the way it should be if we want too❤
EVERYONE The next time you meet your favorite musician, or any for that manner, ask them to please never take their own life, you never know who's words will matter most in someone's time of dying.
None.
@@rilenixx It's just something to do, just because you don't want to doesn't mean you have too. I'll still say it to everyone I meet, cause who knows if you saying something won't be the thing that stops them from doing it?
This was his most dark, heave
& honest song (in studio or live) and this vertion is angry, correct & honest. Thanck you for this performance and your other great songs RIP Chris Cornell (1964-2017): "no one sings like you anymore"
RIP
