- If you have a garden hose that is truly stuck on the faucet on your house, don’t risk breaking it off with a wrench, there is another way.
Watch this video to see a way to remove the hose from the spigot, without damaging the spigot on the house - Jak na to + styl
Ok- 70 yr young lady here again- just finished the job-new hose on-the entire process took about 5 minutes. I couldn't believe how that hacksaw-little walmart hand hacksaw--even as dull as it was-cut thru that hose fitting like butter- It was so fast-my little screwdriver lifted that fitting up-I can't believe how much frustration that has caused me and took care of it so fast-again-Huge Thanks!
Wow. This method really worked just as shown in the video. It took me just a few minutes to remove the hose from the spigot . Thanks for sharing this great advice!
Thank you so much!!! I'm 72 yo woman!! I've tried everything til i saw your advice.
Thank you. Every other video about this was awful, but yours was fast and easy.
Yes! Every other video was pretty much worthless!! This is a solution!
Thank you so much!! You kept it short and sweet and this did the job! I’m a single woman and it feels good to be able to do something on my own. 😊
Incredible.... removed my stuck hose in 2 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!
Another lady here that did this! The best advice and instructions!
Thank you!
Thanks a lot!! Literally Couldn’t have done it without this video! Got a new 100 ft. Retractable hose on and I will be taking it off for winter and shutting off the water to that valve!
Thank you so much--70 yr young lady here-Bought a new 100ft hose last night to reach my pig Daisy's water bowl and found that old hose stuck. You are so much help-changing out that hose as soon as I find my hacksaw and plumbers tape. Keep up the GOOD work. God Bless you Hon!
I went to Harbor Freight and bought a small hacksaw, borrowed a flat head screwdriver, and it worked!!! Thanks Mike, you are a genius! I wish I would have found this 2 years ago!
You are spot on. No oil or penetrating oil is going to work. Get sawing.
Was disappointed with myself that I couldn't even take a hose off. Great video
I felt the same way! I will try this one.
Wow! I couldn't believe how easy it was. Thank you for the excellent advice. Like a lot of the other folks here. I have been fighting with this issue for months. Awesome job 👏
Great how to DYI video. I have that issue to face myself plus removing a useless irrigation set up as well, which both a 'plumber' and an 'irrigation specialist' turned down saying neither could do it.
This worked very well! Thank you so much!! I’m so happy I didn’t have to pay a handyman to do this!
Worked for me, too! I will p/u some plumbers tape today!
Thank you so much! I've been fighting with that hose for a long time and you're the only one that helped me. After all that time and effort, your suggestion took me about five minutes to get it off.
I went through the same frustrating steps and before doing something expensive and stupid I found this neat hack (pardon the pun) on your channel. So after watching this, I grabbed my hacksaw, a screwdriver and less than 5 minutes later my spigot was free from the crusted hose attachment that had been there for quite some time. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
thank you so much, the new hose you put on is exactly the one that was stuck on my faucet, bought a hacksaw on amazon, after much elbow grease, it worked like a charm!!
Omg tysm for this! We live in MA and the same thing happened. This totally worked!
Just followed the steps and 100% success! Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the idea. This is my current problem with our faucet in lavatory.
Worked for me as well..thank you, much appreciated. Saved me the trouble of going out and buying vinegar as other vids suggested.
BAM! worked like a charm. Thank you!
Thank you so much !!!
I did not want to lose my antique turtle hose bib.
It worked exactly how you said and believe it or not the hose is still usable .
I needed to attach a dual bib under the turtle.
Watched the video even tho I was skeptical but it worked. Thanks.
Thanks! I have been fighting with this issue for 2 years! I tried the WD-40, and pliers and just didn't work! Great info! I will get the hacksaw!
I just completed the task 10 mins ago and it worked! Thank you ! 🐾
Geez I had been messing with for awhile and came across this and voila
Worked. Thanks.
Worked, your the man
Thanks for your tips.
Perfect. I’ve had a stuck hose for over a year.
Thank you, saved me a plumbing bill. Was for my washing machine though, same thing. Was afraid of bending the thin copper pipes. Liked and subscribed! Wire brush worked beautifully on old rusty threads too. Had washers so I didn't need teflon
I know, right? You would think there might be some other way, but after all my research (I had the same problem, hose stuck outside for YEARS, until it sprung a leak finally.) Short of using a sledgehammer, and a flamethrower, this worked best. 😀
Thank you! ☺️
The root cause of this is the manufacturers putting aluminum fittings on the hose. They are cheaper than brass, but they set up galvanic corrosion when in contact with the brass hose bibbs. The Teflon tape becomes essential. Also, you can remove the hose from the faucet after every use. But who does that consistently?
Very helpful. Thanks.
Thanks for the tip. Just made repair… success!!!
Great video. Hand similar setup on my laundry tub hot water hook up. Tried WD40 would not budge, Very good idea with hacksaw. Thanks for posting this video you have helped me solve a huge problem.
Very nice sir. Took me maybe 10 min including wire brushing the minerals off the threads
This method worked great for me 🙏 thank you !
Thanks for that advice❤
Little petrol gelly on threads before installing for next time. Oh. Got to the part with the teflon tape. Even better.
Thank you!!!
Thank you, I have the same problem. Hope I can do it as nicely as you.
Cool. Mine is like that but I could turn the connector. I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks.
I got so mad I shot mine off with a shotgun. No lie
Nice dude lol
This is the point I’m at now!!
@@jen389lethbr Bro, I was fuckin pissed the fuck off when I did it. I'm getting mad just thinking about it.
@@losheroes6076 It had to be done. I get mad just remembering that day.
Can I borrow your shotgun? 😂😂😂😂😂
That worked after fighting it for hours. Thanks
Thanks! It worked 🎉
Thank you it worked
You're my hero!
Try wrapping it in cloth with and elastic around. Pour a boiling kettle over. Let sit five minutes. Try to turn it out. It might work.
Awesome video, save me from shooting it off
Thanks
heck yeah, ive seen this done with stuck conduit too. so ive seen this work with conduit stuck inside.
im going to try this and i will let you know if it works
I used a dremel, works great
Wow. Thats great
is there anything i can use if i don’t have a hacksaw?
I got one of those Quick Disconnect things ( two parts that click apart) ten years ago. Of course the half on the faucet is stuck on there but the other half on the hose just clicked right off. So that's my solution as renter. Keep the half on the corroded spigot and not even deal with it
Genious
I need to getter done
Maybe vinegar and lubricant might get it off. Vinegar might eats up the calcium deposits.
What if I don't have a hacksaw? What can I do?
As mom would say , those Chinese are smart
I was twisting the opposite way.
I don’t have one of those hacksaws so ima use a grinder 😂
Thank you, mine was really stuck hard , when I made the cut I used a hammer and a screw driver and finally got it off
Come do mine!
Propane touch on very low flame...........
Just the tip, only the tip.
How do I take one off without it breaking it off? I have a $666 hose but need to take it off.😢
That is a great question. I don't know the answer. Everything I attempted on my hose, failed, for several years. Until finally the hose itself burst from being in the New England weather. I had to research myself, to find the answer of sawing through the ring of the hose itself.
a faster non destructive way is simply using a heat gun
I feel much smarter now.
Everyone keeps saying this I’m not gonna cut my $50 hose isn’t there has to be another option!
Just put a new hose connector on - they sell them at hardware stores. Cut off the old busted on, pop in the connector, and use the locking screw to keep it in place. Boom, new 48' hose.
This is ridiculous with the hacksaw.
