Hi everyone! Let me know YOUR favorite architectural modeling add-on for Blender in the comments below!
gonna try out osm and measure it tommorow
@@SinpleaOfficial osemo
You are the only one who gives THE WHOLE Architecture content..
All the possible softwares needed to achieve best Architectural Visuals..
Blender OSM is exactly what I have been looking for!
I had been trying to get OSM data into blender the manual way.
After awhile, I just gave up and moved on.
Now I will go back and see what I can get done with this add-on.
This is why I just watch every tutorial I can.
You never know what you'll learn.
Your channel is really growing on me, I appreciate you. Thanks.
idk but I understand the explanations on this channel a lot better than the other channels I watched on the same topic! They need to take their time and explain stuff. Some people are new to this.
CAD Transform has been a godsend, gave the creator a decent tip for the plugin!
This is some good quality stuff my man
This video was a big help!
Super helpful, can't wait to check some of these out.
Glad you like them!
that cad addon is insanely good!!
The more I learn about Blender, the more I'm more blown away by its power and versatility. And i suffered with 3DSMax (and others!) for 30 years! The landscape plugin alone is incredible. Am also going to deep dive into OSM since it looks incredibly useful for motion graphics. Great post!
Thanks very much!
This is exactly how I feel. I can't believe how long I suffered using cinema 4d. Once I gave blender a shot i realized how much better it can be
This has opened up some different flavors... To add to my creative palate... Thanks for sharing...
Thanks for watching!
Hi Justin I just like the start of your videos :)
As a new Blender user trying to migrate my workflow from Sketchup - I deeply appreciate this video - so helpful. Well done. Wish I could click the thumbs up five or ten times on this one.
Glad it helped! :)
@Aiden Humphrey why did you wanted to migrate from sketchup? What are you using blender for?
hey, i need your opinion on blender, i started using sketchup like a week ago, do you consider me switching to blender before its too late?
Great - Thank you!
You are welcome!
Very welcome tips and plugins, do you know by any chance of an addon for drafting? Addind dimensions and anotations to models and print out blueprints or plans?
Hi, thanks so much for your videos about the architecture add on. i would like to ask if blender can pop an existing site survey of a hill side into a terrain or 3 d
Thank you, so awesome
Glad you like it!
Epic list thx so much.
But the MVP has to be FSpy. Hands down. This is simply magic in my mind.
That's definitely a good one :)
Amazing
Thanks!
WOW, all of them are usefull
They're pretty awesome! :)
Cad transform is so usefull, thanks.
Thanks!
Thanks, very helpful!
I really miss the Sketchup's tape to see quickly the distances between things. This measure tool that comes with blender is so annoying. I think it's the only tool I still want to have in Blender in the same way (and functionality) as Sketchup.
yeah agree, I really miss the dimensions in sketchup LOL.... I'm a newbie to blender and still having a hard time adjusting it
This video just reminded me how long its been since I used Autocad or 3DS and how much Ive forgotten about precision modeling
Yeah...it's really not designed for that as a base product. It can do it, but it's definitely still a workaround...
thank you 😊 very helpful , i liked the measurement tool and 3d city importer from maps. is there a tool for line drawing. i dont use blender much because i cant accurately model objects to mm accuracy like in sketchup or cad is there a tool for that.
thank you
yes i use snap_utilities_line addon in blender for line drawing
Hi, when i write "archi" in the addons bar, there is just Archimesh but no Archipack, do someone knows why?
The landscape addon and achimesh addon is so useful.
Yep!
Hey dude... I've been following you for a few years now and learned so much. I am really wondering your sincere thoughts on What's the better tool for such things as this and everything SketchUp is/was good for... SU or Blender?
I'm trying to create some architecture type works in Blender and have found SketchUp So much easier (.. same with HD CADtools and VectorWorks) and I keep finding myself tempted to just say f it and go back to SU.
HOWEVER I need to learn Blender for so many other things. I know of you through all of your great SU training and thought that was your Go-To .... What is, hands down, now?
I don't know that I could say definitively that either one is just "better" - it really depends on what you're trying to do. PERSONALLY for me whenever I'm doing architectural style modeling, I'm using SketchUp. The toolset is set up better for precision modeling, the extension ecosystem provides better options for most architectural applications, there's actually a tool for creating 2D documents from your 3D model, etc. Blender is great for a lot of things and I love working with it, but in my opinion, there are better tools out there for precision CAD style modeling and SketchUp is one of them.
That's not to say Blender doesn't have a place in the workflow, because I think it does - it's great for rendering, has better texturing tools, is great for organic style modeling, and much more.
When talking about Blender OSM, it's worth mentioning Blender GIS addon too, which is similar but even more robust ;)
Interesting - will have to give it a look. Does it create buildings?
GIS is free, but it definitely has more steps than OSM. In tutorials I watched, the buildings always load in as blank objects and you can't really load their details in any way.
@@Mercurio2435 It's been a long time I've last used it, though I can remember I had no problem importing buildings and even details as vertices, but the imported geometry was stretched, probably due to geographic coordinate system conversion, and I didn't know how to resolve that. Blender OSM, I guess, automatically chooses optimal conversion, and there is no stretching problem, even on large areas, like a whole county (not country, I didn't try THAT hard :P).
@@TheCGEssentials Sorry for not responding you. I missed your reply and saw it only now, after Nathan replied. Yes, Blender GIS can generate buildings. It's more advanced than the free version of Blender OSM, but not that intuitive.
My fav would be Archipack. I turned the Archimesh on, I can use it no problem, and it's awesome, but it seems the Archipack isn't offered in Blender version 3.4.1 (2022-12-20). I wonder if it's discontinued now.
can any one do lines? I think?
you should ask on lines
lake..
Building tool
Is this an add on?
@@TheCGEssentials you too made tutorials with building tools add on great for exterior elevation with presice measurrments
@@vishnupravin OH right - that one! Lol - I make a lot of videos and forget sometimes - that's a great one for fast exterior modeling!
Thanks Zuckerberg.
