Absolutely one of the very best version of this classic from Gershwin score for "Porgy and Bess" from 1939 I believe. This is superlative by a 10 year old or for that matter any vocalists that has ever existed. Thanks Saeed. One of my absolute top 100 of my top 5 from Angelina. KORK is an abbreviation for the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, one of the most prestigious Orchestras in Scandinavia. A true honor to be invited to perform with them.....In this case the honor is theirs, without a doubt
This is absolutely one of my favorite performances by her, it is so magical and so stunning. The barefoot princess is absolutely an angel sent from heaven.
Funfact, as far as I know it, her dress was designed by her and grandma Mery and then sewed by Angelina. Today, she designes and others do the sewing. I heard she has now her own design line.

There is no better blending of a voice and an orchestra than that produced by Angelina Jordan and KORK. Her singing "Unchained Melody" with them last year at the Nobel Peace Prize tribute is simply exquisite, as is this performance.

This is KORK, (the Norwegian Broadcast Company's (sister of BBC in the UK) full-time orchestra. Every year they hold a "wish concert" where the Norwegian public can submit wishes to hear them perform their favourite (classical) pieces. Those chosen are invited to the televised concert and are given the opportunity to express why their pick is so special to them. The final song of the concert was the host's own pick - a chance to hear AJ perform Summertime in front of a full orchestra. The most patient pre-teen singer ever to have existed delivered.

She is 10 yo in this version with the KORK Orchestra & it's totally different from her raspy version with trumpet backing in NGT, 2 years earlier. She's done a few songs at various ages in different styles. My favorite is her many versions of the jazz standard, My Funny Valentine, at 9, 10, 16, 17 & 18. It's a jazz standard that she owns, IMO, & many legends have covered it.

A Norwegian joked, that the orchestra and AJ did not know who should feel more honored (normally the invited artists to this venue feel highly honored). But so he joked The National Treasure of Norway had come to perform. A person, something like a noble woman would be in the UK, who was viewed by other musicians with ahw and admiration. I am NOT exaggerating !!!! I have seen video clips of 11 yo Angelina, who was THE BOSS on stage, even when everybody was older than her. Her kind manners and friendliness earned her an immens respect for her musical instinct.

I'm glad you trusted the algorithm this time. The most magical interpretation she's ever done of this song.
She's two years older than when she performed it as a jazz standard at NGT. And she's done several impressive interpretations in between, it was part of her first regular concert repertoire.
But this isn't Ella & Louis, this is closer to Gershwin's opera aria than anything else she's done up to that point. Simply beautiful. It's actually a soprano part and should be sung in a way that lulls a baby to sleep. With her contralto tessitura, Angelina can't go as high as a soprano in the long run, but this interpretation not only does the original more than justice - it has fairytale magic in it.
And the orchestra's performance cannot be praised enough. The whole package is just great. KORK (KringkastingsORKestret = The Radio Orchestra) is here in full force (I count 53 musicians). And did you notice that Angelia is the headliner here, with her back to the conductor - and yet is perfectly in sync with the orchestra? At ten!
