    I really appreciate this video. My 07 G 4dr is my first car and my dream car so I've taken the time to take care of it and rebuild the suspension and replace struts on the front end and guides like this have helped me make sure I'm doing things correctly. Sadly the guy with it before me didn't care about the car as much so I'm left with a 14 years of neglect to the car. Rusted on bushings, and seized bolts etc but I promised myself I'd work through it!

    Eric you are doing such an awesome job with your channel!! I have learned so much from watching your videos. My 08 G Sedan has 271K Miles on it. Runs & drives perfectly. Recently had same front end parts replaced along with wheel bearings all the way around. I get 25 MPG @ 75 MPH on highway. No leaks less than 1 qt burn between 3700 mile oil changes. Have changed my PS/AT/Rear End/Coolant/Brake Fluids every 30K Also have evacuated & recharged my A/C every 3 years since i bought it in 2010 when it had 40K on it.

I replaced everything....rattle still there. It is a slight rattle when driving on uneven roads....not necessarily big potholes, etc....10 mechanics and 3 Infiniti Service Techs can't figure it out. Can you venture a guess?

    I bought me my first car at 18 november of last year a 2004 g35 sedan rwd with 142k. After I bought it I had an inspection done and was quoted over 4k for whole new front end suspension needed all new bushings in the front valve cover gasket, motor mounts and a few other little things ive forgot. I have about 172k and haven't had one issue so far *knock on wood* i have had to get 5 tires, one blow out unknown why one with a nail and one was worn out and ive just had 2 new front tires put on recently. I have done the regular Oil changes every 3 or 4k miles with mobile one, got new pads and rotors done at 148k got some cheap amazon pads and there going in and out when brakeing not sure what pads to get. I need all the advice and tips i can get.

    Great Video!!!!!! Watched the entire video!!!! My Rack and Pinion has a light leak on my 2010 FX35 with 172K miles. I found a really good used one on ebay which I'm having my mechanic install soon. Question, for the last 2 months, sometimes, not all the time, when stopping, there's a thug noise that i feel in my break pedal. I'm changing my transmission mount, but i also changed my front wheels bearings, added new rotors and pads... the thud issue doesnt happen all the time, but feels liek something is loose, i just cant find it. New rear subframe & controll arms were installed as well. Any idea?

    Hi Eric, Thanks for the videos they are really helpful! I have a G35 sedan base with 213K mile on it. I have it for a year now but I have started to fix it up because I fell in love with the car. Recently I took the car to one of my mechanic friends and he suggest the same repairs you did and mentioned on this car. I did not have the time , experience or tools to buy the parts and do it myself so I had to take it to a mechanic to do it. Do you have any estimation how much it would cost for me to let someone else do it and what brand for the parts do you suggest to full control arm sets, power steering, and shock absorbers? (important factor: I am on a tight budget)

    Hey Eric I have a question I’m currently trying to do the compression arms on my ride because the bushings are shot out so I’m just replacing the whole compression arm but when I try to remove the sub frame which I have the bigger one I guess they call it the bat wing as well there are at least three bolts on there that are impossible for me to get off. I can’t get a vice grip on them, I tried drilling a hole and using one of those other screw extractors, that you twist the opposite way. I guess it’s under so much pressure it just tears up the extractor I tried using the pointy star socket, extractor, and that just tears of the bolt even more I do not have a welder to weld another knot. Oh yeah, I even try to cut a notch on the bolt head and tried to remove it like a flat head and still no luck. I was told that the sub frame is holding up the engine and if I remove it, the whole engine will come down. I didn’t see how that was even possible, but this is my daily and I can feel the suspension getting worse with my tire scraping. If you know any other way or idea, it would be greatly appreciated. I just need to get it done before my car gets worse.

    • @ERICSDIYGARAGE
      @ERICSDIYGARAGE  Před 5 dny

      Sounds like you have a unique issue without me looking at it I would be much help. That's just a frame bracket it's not the subframe so no engine won't fall if you remove it.

  • @arthurstember6572
    @arthurstember6572 Před 6 měsíci

    Consider instead of replacing the suspension parts, where possible, replace the bushings with urethane. Longer lasting, a little noisier and stiffer perhaps.

    • @ERICSDIYGARAGE
      @ERICSDIYGARAGE  Před 5 dny

      For the customer is not the best in terms of cost effective. If it was my car id probably do that, but realistically, I don't see much of a difference as far as longevity
