Thank you guys so much, this was legendary!!!! No wonder my Aunt never understood me, I cut my teeth on the likes of Leon Russell and Joe Cocker! 😁🎹🎸😃🌹🕊️✌️
His collaboration with Leon Russell ( Mad dogs and Englishmen) is amazing. That's Russell on piano.
Great band, great singer, great reaction!
And bobby keys and jim price, ended up with stones on tour after this
The Man, The Master, Joe Cocker. I've seen him live twice. Incredible.
You can leave your hat on, unchain my heart..... Love Joe. He worked and performed with some of the best musicians.
This performance is an orgy of sounds. The best ever!!
I agree with your interpretation of Joe Cocker and how he feels the music. Elvis was like that too. He said many times he couldn’t sing if he couldn’t move. Love Joe C. Thanks for the great reaction. 👏👏
Joe Cocker, the King Of Cover.
Every song he picks up, he elevates to another level compared to the original. Especially at live performances.
Why is he not in the the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame? He is Rock and Roll! I wore out my Mad Dogs and Englishmen LP! OMG! What a great performer!!!!! Thank you for this!!!
Billy Joel petitioned the voting board for Joe Cocker and was unable to get his name on the ballot. Somehow groups that don't perform rock and roll managed to get voted in, but Joe Cocker can't get on a ballot.
I saw Joe Cocker with Dr John and they opened for Stevie Ray Vaughn, it was one of the greatest concerts I ever went to and in my 79 years I have been to many many concerts.Use to go to the Gilmore in SF at least once a month back in the 60s and 70.
Thank you for keeping the Music Alive
I know some people think it's weird but I love to watch Joe perform...he embodies the music!
Not weird at all.
And I like to find a cover he did that I didn't knew before, normally I don't like the covered versions of songs (with few I like more than original) but with Joe it's something else I LIKE All of his Covers he did!
Not weird. Joe gets it. Joe shares it. Joe uses his voice, body, mind and spirit in every movement of what he emotes.
Agreed.
I was talking to a drummer friend one day and I told him after being a musician for a while and listening to music you tend to hear it differently and he said yeah it's like you hear it in 3D and that's exactly how the music sounds if you know what you're listening to or listening for.. or the feeling that I get often when listening to music
Saw him in his later years in Nelson NZ - and he was still such a powerful performer and presence, an absolutely brilliant show
And this is LIVE, my young musicologists. Keep on keeping on.
Such a unique performer. Joe always just felt the music differently than other artists. Even on the ballads he sang, you could just feel that he hears and sings music on another level. A great cover by Joe and a great band too. Beth Hart feels the music a bit like Joe does. ❤️🔥
Bobby Keys on Sax and Leon Russell on piano.
This whole tour was put together by Leon Russell.
@@telynns8490 yep, borrowed Delaney and Bonnie's Friends for the tour.
Chris Stainton on the Ivory.
@@michaelgallagher3640 If this is from Mad Dog and Englishmen tour, it is Russell playing on this song. Wish they had watched the live video so we would know for sure.
I saw Joe Cocker in concert in 1969. He was amazing.
Great to see you enjoy Joe. Saw him life several times and at one concert at 20 feet distance. Felt the sweat he distributed. He gave always the outmost of himself. Try also his life cover of "You are so beautiful".
I saw the Mad Dogs and Englishmen concert. Absolutely incredible. Unbelievable collection of musicians and back up singers filled the stage, but Joe Cocker owned it! Thanks for continuing your journey.
Mad Dogs and Englishmen. Also a great concert film if you can find it.
You've got to listen to the album called Mad Dogs and Englishmen. An amazing live performance. Joe leaves it all on the stage. One of a kind performer.
Thanks for the reaction! I LOVE this song! My fave Joe cover!
Joe cocker is really one of a kind! I saw him in concert many moons ago and his performance of So Beautiful brought me to tears.
When I was 18 I fronted a band led by the guy that wrote this song, Wayne Thompson.
Oh my lord! Joe has soul! This is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard.
Trumpets, saxophone, drums, guitar, bass, tambourine, piano. I even heard cowbell in there.
Joe always kept a great band.......always
OOOOooooh So So much for you 2 beginners to learn and listen to -- REALLY
GLAD you've found this gem.
Love this song. Thanks.
Such a cool, cool cover of this song--thanks for bringing it to us!
Great voice. Thanks Ray Charles!
You've got to see the couple of skits on Saturday night live with John Belushi and then John belushi and joe cocker together
A great talent, also does a good song you'll love called cry me a river.
There were 30 people in
This band. Joe could sing anything and we would all focus in on what we liked.
Hey, Sweeties! I love ALL of Joe's early stuff & I'm so glad you like him. Now I'd love to see you check out an older Joe doing "You Can Leave Your Hat On".
In the Official video you can see Joe, the musicians & backup singers all having a great time in the studio. I can already imagine y'all feeling the groove.
💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙
Look @ Joe Cocker in the 80's. Huge hits but mellow and awesome!
Rock out with your Joe Cocker records out!
The late great Leon Russell on piano! FYI - on your first exposure to Joe (Little help at Woodstock) his singing was excellent as usual but if you didn't already learn, his back up singers were stuck in traffic so he was forced to use the guys in the band and well....they aren't back-up singers for a reason. #albumversion
Ooh, I enjoyed that! And I enjoyed seeing you guys enjoying it. And I especially enjoyed the lack of interruptions.
Tasha looking shy and demure, then lighting UP when the heavenly choir kicked off.
There's today made right.
Loved this! One of my favorite performers!! Kills it every time!! 😊
Great Joe Cocker song! Haven’t heard it in quite some time. Enjoyed your reaction to it.
TNT. This Joe Cocker cover of The Letter is off of his Mad Dogs and Englishmen Album. Check out the song Delta Lady from that album.
Also he was surrounded by great musicians!
This is a superior cover of The Box Tops excellent original from the late 60s. Joe Cocker was The Man in this genre.
Another smooth performance, another good job.
great ,as always, for me its bobby bland, ray charles and joe cocker, by the way, ray is joe cockers man. who else does unchain my heart as cocker does.?
So true. Joe Cocker was cool to watch.
Love the way this song ends.
When Joe cover’s a song he owns it!
Synesthesia is the medical terms for seeing colors in music. My musician husband claimed to have it. I saw Joe Cocker live in the 70's, he was a bit hard to watch; the same with Jethro Tull, hard to watch but what great concerts. Love you guys.
Hey guys, discovered your channel today and I enjoyed watching you two grooving to such a legendary singer. I'm gonna tell you something, there are brillant musicians made to create, and others made to perform.
Joe Cocker was that kind of guy, he just took song he loved made by talented bands he liked, and transformed them in such a unique and brillant way, that you would think he created the song himself because it was so good. Joe was a great performer, to me he was the best performer, in term of transforming other bands' song, just like Janis Joplin did, I encourage you to look up her songs, it's absolutely wonderful, Joe Cocker & Janis Joplin were very similar in that matter!
Peace brother and sister, take care of yourselves. Love xx
Mad Dogs & Englishmen tour..
Joe Cocker - vocials
Leon Russell - them keys 😎
Live version, with joe you gotta watch him, thats half the fun
I have an old song for you to react to, if you would, though it’s not Joe Cocker. But it made me think of an old black & white video, not sure why though, of “Try Me” by a young James Brown. I love this song!
Seeing music in colors is called L S D baby!! 😄
Great song by the Boxtops.
👍👍👍👍
This is a cover of the song that the band The Box tops from the 60's. You should listen to it.
You should check out Joe and John belushi doing Joe on stage from SNL priceless 👌
I Joe. so much!!!! ❤😊
This is a cover. The original song was by The Boxtops. Great live version with Joe here.
Walked down the aisle to Joe "You are so beautiful" my sweet husband picked it out, he couldn't get me to walk down to ZZ Tops "She's got legs" 😆
You really need to react to Joe Cocker's official video of "You Can Leave Your Hat On", with scenes edited in from the film "9-1/2 Weeks".
THis is a cover tof the Box Tops 1967 hit, but this is far far better.
So much Soul, So Nasty, Goes all in Everytime.
The White Ray Charles 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Portland Oregon USA 🇺🇸
Check out the box tops version too.
Joe’s from Sheffield, England.
Sounds like Leon Russell on Piano.
Watch a video of joe preform, that man felt the music.
Damn spell check,The Filmore
Dude! Do you do voiceovers?
Joe is an amazing live performer! His motions are him following notes from every instrument. This is probably 35 years after Woodstock and I find this performance outstanding and I watch it often! I did get to see Joe live 3 times in 69-71 and he always put everything he had into every concert. Please check this one out. "You Can Leave Your Hat On" live. czcams.com/video/kDR2fXoHdQw/video.html
Cocker always sings with that raspy voice it was just his voice. Unlike Janis Joplin who was ordered to scream until her voice got raspy. Sad story for Joplin
You need to watch him live
We use to see music in color but I think it was the acid we took. Pink Floyd takes on a new meaning while under the influence of hallucinatory drugs.
If you don't feel music if it doesn't invoke some kind of emotions then it's just noise.
Synesthesia
Don’t expect that soul outta an Englishman but then he sings
Joe Joe Carter take any cover song and make it his own
This music is all from the
Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour arranged and conducted by the great Leon Russell who is playing that iconic piano to his arrangement of the letter with Joe Cocker and the incredible collection of singers in session men brought on tour.
Russell was inducted into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame after working with just about everybody from Sinatra, to the Monkeys to BB King.
Try his hit Delta lady.
Sorry about that Joe Cocker can take any cover song and make it his own
Cry me a River from the same concert/album.
Horrible
