Great video of Joe Cocker young and give so much soul to the music to make it his, magic to a old 74 year old long hair hippie me, now with short hair. I always loved Joe Cocker, RIP .. my friend and music plays on.
haha! this was a movie. i remember going in the Drive Inn exit with lights out and quick finding a parking spot. unlocking the the trunk to let my friends out. yeah that happened
I believe it was box tops 1 hit wonder joe takes them and makes them his own. Like came in bathroom window.john Lennon said that not me,and theobald song cry me a river, which he made a classic. 😮
I think the way Joe Cocker covered songs was respectful in a way. His versions are so different to the original I wouldn t compare them. Each of them are standing for their own. No competition. And he s unique. He could have sung christmas songs... same result
Thank you for the background information. Yes, Joe was fantastic. Stunning. He came from Yorkshire in the north of England. See his performance at Woodstock. That really is something. To an Englishman, that sounds like a real,Southern accent you have there. Lovely to hear.
I remember going to see this movie when it came out in Theatres. Boy I am getting old but joe was the best on stage, plus he performed in this concert in his socks.
Big ask, the whole album, is just mind blowing.. the letter, more like, A love letter, missed her , get me home ,the quickest way possible..got to be with her..aw that's sweet..that voice once again Y'all..love it👊
Backup singer woman in yellow @1;23 was the keyboard player in the all female band Fanny,,,.NIcky barclay....was apparently a nightmare to tour with...Joe Cocker's tour photographer relayed that to me anyway. From the ourtside looking in ..it all looks like fun and love..but apparently Leon and Joe hated each other after the tour. Apparently there was talk of doing a Mad Dogs and Englishmen reunion at some point but Joe didnt want to because it brought back bad memories.
Love Joe Cocker! Got to see him live 3-4 times. His live performances are amazing! Here's 1 he did maybe 30 years after The Letter that you have to see! czcams.com/video/kDR2fXoHdQw/video.html He was still a beast doing live performances! This is "You Can Leave Your Hat On" from the movie 9 1/2 Weeks.
🤠 And Leon Russell (on piano🎹) is a true legend in his own right! 👍
Awesome reaction! My favorite song by Joe Cocker is "Up Where We Belong", a duet he did with Jennifer Warnes, released back in 1982..
I very recently came across your videos, and even without speaking your facial reactions are so natural, and expressive.
The legendary Bobby Keys on Saxophone.
Wow. Some voices are just so honest.

Joes voice is AMAZING, great song choice. Love to see you review “Music” by John Miles, an epic tune 😉

🤠 Laurie, the best description I ever read of Joe said he was "like a full-bodied human tuning fork!" 😂🎙🎵🎶
I always says he danced like a fish out of water 😂❤️
