James Arnes at 79" tall would make an easy target. It makes sense why he was wounded in WW2 and not Audie Murphy.

It's amazing how many of these actors were able to conceal their shortness or tallness
in stature, during their acting careers! At 77, I have seen a few of them, in person, &
knew that they were much shorter then they appeared on screen! Even some tall actors
had to hide their extreme height, for fear of being too tall for female co-stars! Great job!

when I was 16 & realized then how short they were!

I have to say Mark for actors born before 1940 I seemed to know a lot. Mostly from old movies growing up as a kid. This looks like it has taken off in the right direction mate and I hope the trend explodes from now on. It's so reassuring that most of the popular actors ever filmed are of normal height and not extremely tall. There is hope for us yet mate!

I’m a fan of Clint Eastwood who stood 6.4. I saw a picture of him recently with the actor Jason Momao who is 6.4.
I know Clint is 92 and I know people lose height as they grow older but in the pics of him with Momoa he barely reached Momoas Shoulder with the top of his head. It appears that Clint is around 5.8 or less now. That’s a lot of height to lose. I did think it could be the angle of the picture but there were several images and it’s clear that Clint has sadly lost a lot of height.

While I enjoyed the height comparisons, there's no way that Jack Webb was 5-feet 10-inches tall. That was the whole, long-running joke about his prolific radio and television career: he went into acting because he didn't meet the height requirement for his dream job in the LAPD. At best, he was 5'6" or 5'7".

The average height for US men born in the 30's was 5ft 8in and in the 40's 5ft 9in so relatively speaking some of these were not that short.

Again how accurate are your height numbers ?
Some of them are just taken from IMDb. It depends if I can find any evidence to the contrary. That’s how I do it. I’ll look at everyone, study images with other actors, take footwear into account then make a decision based on the evidence. If I can’t disprove their IMDb listing which should be put in by themselves, then I go with it

You missed a few. Humphrey Bogart at 6 foot exactly and of course Marrion Wayne Morrison aka John "Duke" Wayne at a TRUE 6 foot 4 1/4 inches on his union card, and Mickey Rooney at 5 foot 4 1/2 inches, and Lon Chaney Jr. was 6 foot 4 inches on his draft board ID and his Actor's Equity Card and was easily 8 inches taller than Burgess Meredith at 5 foot 6 inches in "Of Mice and Men" (1939), Douglas Fairbanks Sr. and Jr. both just a bit over 6 foot with Sr. pushing 6'2", Silent Cowboy Star and friend of my cousin Wyatt Earp, Tom Mix at 5 foot 11 1/2 inches, and the TALLEST actor with an Equity Card Silent star Harrison Ford (yes, they "recycled" his name!) at 6 feet 8 inches! There was a French silent actor at 7 feet+ before WWI. He was one of the first actors they built sets "around". They put a "trough" in the floor for him to stand in while normal sized people stood on the set floor-remarkable for the time.

@@alanadale4299 it was just a bit of research I did. Most of the names in this video are suggestions of missing people from part 1. Unfortunately blocker was mentioned but I don’t think Landon was. Part 1 is a much better version in the fact it has much bigger names

The big number who were exactly 6ft makes me suspect that the perfect height for a Hollywood leading man is just less than 6th, with little enough in it for people to to be able to claim you're 6 ft.

I’ve never heard of Dunn unfortunately. The rest are in part 1, I explained this in the intro
Michael Dunn was a "Little Person" who most famously played Dr. Miggalito Loveless in the TV series Wild Wild West, which starred Robert Conrad (who's on this list). He also played Alexander on an episode of the original Star Trek series. An absolutely amazing actor who died way too young.
