I met Elvis in early 1972 a few months after his 37th birthday . In L.A. I was 21 and at the time a solid 5' 10 . I was wearing Flag Brothers zipper ankle boots about a one and a half inch heal.he was in black ankle boots to. ( I purposely looked. ) from what I saw there was no lift and his boot heal seemed about the same. He didn't have a pompadour , his hair was swept to the side ..I can say that he was easily six foot. In his early days he looked taller because of his pomp. Which Added about two to three inches. Plus he was very lean , like a rail which made him Look even taller. ..
BTW heck of a nice guy.
Thanks. He’s always claimed he was 6 foot. I took the reading from celeb heights and the height is basically an estimation based on peoples opinion. And btw I’m only a minute fraction off here. Thanks again
Elvis's drivers license, and death certificate have him at 6'-1"
And since when is Snoop Dogg considered a singer?
@@rscottdoan1 he’s a rapper. Did you read the opening credit? Funny about Elvis because he only ever claimed to be 6’ and I only have him less than 1cm off.

Can’t believe a lot of great musicians were this short? Mind blown 🤯. It seems most are? I guess that’s the trade off? Musical talent. Billy Ocean at 5’ 3” freaked me out. Don’t worry Billy, I’m still a fan 😎
Size doesn’t really matter I suppose
Wtf its music not sports dude
A singer heard a guitar track I had done for a session and was looking for a guitar player - As soon as he saw I was 5 11-1/2 he said see ya - tall gals lose gigs - hahaha - TG for studios. BTW you missed Jack White - great guy I met a few times in Nashville. So was Leon Russell - surprised me that they were basically height opposites of what I expected. My dad taught me from very young that the way to tell them apart was “tall Hall” and then of course there’s Oates lol. So, my dad is 5’4” and I think he always was looking out for other shorter people (heck I’m 5’1”!!!)
@@thephoenixwitch Did he make that one up?
Interesting to look at the distribution:
5 artists are 7" to 8" shorter than average, 20 are 4" to 6" shorter, 50 are 1" to 3" shorter, 40 are within 1" of average size, 59 are 1" to 3" taller, 7 are 4" to 6" taller and 1, the tallest, at 10" taller than average.
So it appears there's a bias towards shorter artists particularly at the far ends of distribution, with the shortest outnumbering the tallest over three to one.
Did you really do all that while watching? 🥸 🤪

Thanks mate. No and retention isn’t as good on this as the actor vid, not sure why
Very cool…!
Thank you so much
Woah at 5'8 and now 58 year old female I was taller than most of these men.
Yes. Roughly my size lol
I've got a sister 64 yrs old and 5' 10". 👍
I'm 71 and 5'8. There are 2 women my age in my neighborhood and both come up to my shoulders. I hated being tall growing up but now it doesn't bother me.
Wow ..these TALENTED artists are sooo Short
Some yes
Great video. Always thought Alice Cooper was short! Eric Burdon and Keith Richards missing!
Didn’t realise richards was a singer. Thought he was more a musician
@@DataWatch. Well he has had a few solo albums and always sings one or two songs on each Stones album since the 60s. I'm a fan, lol.
@@Blondie101010100 ok I stand corrected on that one 😊
@@DataWatch. He's 5'10" too 😉😉😁
@@Blondie101010100 thanks
Very interesting. Where do you get your data from? Is it from personal encounters? I agree with most of the estimates. However, for example, Francis Rossi of Status Quo is nowhere near 6ft. There are a few other anomalies like this in your videos.
it’s based on peak height. Rossi is around 70 so he won’t be now. from 40 the average man loses half inch every ten years then from 60 it’s an inch or more. celeb heights for most of these
Imagine meeting all of these people? As well you can’t know how tall people are today, only way to make this vid is by estimated peak height. Not sure where the Rossi figure is from, had a sleep since. Might have been IMDb
@@DataWatch. I see, but I don't think he was ever 6ft, maybe 5'10 ish
@@by_antony I’d say he’s probably that or less now even if he was 6’ back in the day. I won’t argue with you. No substitute for seeing someone in person other than using a tape measure. Thanks for watching 😊
What the?? Billy Ocean is only 5'3"?? He looked like he was 6'5" in the videos.
I can’t say for certain he’s 5’3 but he’s definitely short. If you look at his videos the camera is always panning up or down on him, making him look taller
@@DataWatch. I believe he's actually 5'8", that seems about right. He's not very tall, but I DO believe he's more than 5'3".
@@chrismulwee4911 sources say he’s 5’3 160cm and after looking at some more pictures, one in particular being dwarfed by 5’6 Alex Jones and 5’9 Matt baker
Yes Prince was small…and I’m sure this was why he was so shy but on stage he looked so big .
Little man, big personality definitely
Great video! 👍
I'm not sure if Status Quo singer Francis has the full 6'0. He looks more like 5'11".
I’d say that’s possible
Wow, I did not realise how short Prince was, many of the taller ones are surprises too. Are you certain about Joe Jackson?? He certainly did not look so tall on stage. Very entertaining video, thanks x
Regarding joe, I thought he looked very tall on stage tbh. I couldn’t actually find a definitive source for him. If you google his height it it just gives you michael Jackson’s dads height lol. But he did an interview years back and was asked his height to which he replied 6’4. Had to go with it, couldn’t find anything else. Thanks
@@DataWatch. No doubt your research is precise, maybe because he sings/sang alone on stage so no one next to him to compare him too. Thanks to you for the video 👍
@@STRANGERINMOSCOW1 no thank you 😊
@@DataWatch. subscribed! you have some very interesting uploads 👍
@@STRANGERINMOSCOW1 yes I sure do. Wide mix of topics. Thanks
mi favorito Barry Gibb contextura perfecta 😍
😊
Many heights are based on what the artists themselves claim. At the start of his career, McCartney was measured at 5-9. He claimed 5-11, but that was with the two inch Beatle boots. Today, with age, he is probably closer to 5-8.
I think he’s about 5’8 today. All of the Beatles except ringo claimed to be 5’11. I think my peak figures are fairly accurate. McCartney had the edge on the other two who I listed 5’10. You could maybe go down half an inch but I don’t think anymore. I’ve listed many of these guys less than they said they were or claimed to be
The real Paul McCartney was 5’9” when he died. 😉
@@DataWatch. Eric Clapton, David Bowie, and John Lennon are all 5'8". Mick Jagger might be 8'1/4".
Noel Gallagher is about 5'7", Liam about 5'9", Rod Stewart is 5'8.5" Paul McCartney 5'9", Sting is maybe 5'9.5", Boy George is about 5'6.5".
Nice video. Also makes me feel a little better being 5'11 as I'm shorter than most men in the US.
Interesting. The average man is the states is 1.77. Not many countries have higher average than your height, some Nordic countries and one or two other European ones that’s it
@@DataWatch. Really? I have not researched the data so you're probably right. I'm from Texas so maybe everything is bigger here😂
@@ravishingrickrude3721 lol
Wow! I told myself there’s no way montell Jordan is on here bc I thought you all wouldn’t know him. Very good list
Thank you 😊
Elvis is perfection in every way. ❤
😊
I remember seeing Leo Sayer at The Opera house after The Bob Dylan concert and he was heaps short 🤣🤣🤣
He really is 😊😊
Nice vid! Joey Ramone, 1.98 mt is missing…
Yes sorry
Nice soundtrack
Thank you 😊
I feel sooooo tall right now! And i'm a girl 😂
I’m guessing you are taller than me then 😂
Tall people are the worst always shaming and making fun of shorter people
I didn’t know Billy Ocean was THAT damn short!
I was the same
@@DataWatch. I thought he was like 5’10! How true is this?
@@Guitarist888 it appears it’s definitely true! Wherever you look it says the same thing
@@DataWatch. gotcha! Thanks for informing me.
@Guitarist 1988 His height surprised the heck out of me too! Would've guessed more like 5'10".
Cool like that
Thank you so much
Hi btw kewl vid
