This video will show you how to fix the issue when WMP is missing in Windows 10.
If your running Windows N or KN versions. these versions don’t have media features included by default. (Example: Music, Video, Voice Recorder, and Skype)

I just had a lady come to me and ask where is media player, my dvd used to play but now it doesn't .... I installed VLC player for her and yes WMP had disappeared. Thanks for this Video mate.

Dude what happen to editing album info in WMP? I remember I was able to manually edit song and choose the track number for that song but now I can't do shit but rename the tracks.

After having windows 10 Home N installed my two Nikon cameras would not link to Adobe Lightroom or show as connected in File explorer. All of my music files would only show the name of the file in File Explorer and all other filters had no information at all. After installing the Media Feature Pack all of these issues resolved themselves. So glad I found your video.

The Media Feature Pack for N versions of Windows 10 is available for download as an Optional Feature. To install the Media Feature Pack, navigate to Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > Optional Features > Add a Feature and find the Media Feature Pack in the list of available Optional Features. Note, you will not be prompted to restart your computer, but you must restart in order to successfully complete installation of the Media Feature Pack.

Best video player by far is mpc-be. Click on videos to pause/play, thumbnail for video frames like youtube so you can easily skip through videos, and much more. Play with the settings and youll see. I was all about vlc first then i found mpc-hc. Thought i hit gold until i found mpc-be, diamonds!

Use VLC and Plex they can do so much more than WMP. I also use Kodi the legal way.
VLC does play music but it has no menu to list music. Plex is great at streaming media, but I like a simple program that plays music like WMP.

I thought WMP was removed a long time ago, cause I've been using "Groove Music", "Movies & TV" & "Photos" for a long time, they have been setup by default ever since I upgraded, which has been years now. Then again, I don't use pro, because it just doesn't seem worth it...

Hi Brian and Readers. I have windows 10 media player (recently upgraded from windows 7) I have a library of CDs ripped to my
P..C and on my previous windows 7 player I was able to open the album and it would display a "play all option" which played the album right through.
I cannot find this option on the windows 10 player anywhere? I've tried highlighting all the tracks, right click the album etc but still no luck. I'm currently having to play one track at time, very frustrating!!. If anyone can help I'd be most grateful. Many Thanks

Hi, I couldn't find "the Media Feature Pack" , but after Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > Optional Features - there is "Windows Media Player", I have clicked install button, but the installations failled, what is the reason?

The N Build was required by EU many years ago and the rumours are that a bare handful of PCs a year had it installed - in the real world it is almost as rare as the Northern White Rhino.
I would be more worried about WMP being removed from all W10 versions as MS wants us all to use Groove and Films& TV apps (both of which are cr*p)

Hello. I hope you still read comments here. I have this problem where I have the N version like you, I downloaded the Media player from Microsoft website and restarted the computer numerous times, but it still doesn’t show up. When I try to install it again it doesn’t work. Any suggestions? Thanks!
The same thing happened to me! Last week I had VLC, WMP, and that "Movies & TV" thing ALL PLAYING the same video so I could compare quality. Well, just now I was trying to play a video in WMP because the default "Movies & TV" seems to randomly reframe and cuts off portions of the video. I can actually see the black edges shifting, trying to frame the video, when it settles down the video frame is slightly cropped - WHAT A CROCK!- Anyway I wanted to use WMP but apparently MS has disabled it. It appears as though everything is there still in "program files x86", but NOTHING will respond. I did an update a few days ago and that seems to have queued up it's death by MS. AAaarrgghh

I further suggest that everyone removes any other update packs that you installed which wasn't relevant to their system.
