Today we decorate the chateau's 'Peacocktail Corner' with a glamorous peacock & cocktails themed tree...
It's that time of year again - CHRISTMAS AT THE CHATEAU has begun! Happy Advent!
Follow all of us as we get the chateau ready for a spectacular French Christmas.
Each day will be filled with decorating, cooking, gift buying, carol singing and discovering ancient Christmas traditions from around the world.
Laughing with all the people here who have named the tree "Tipsy" 💕🤣 Perfect!
The perfectionist in me says, fix the star. But my sense of humor says, I like the tipsy tree. My favorite colors. Lovely

The tree reminds me of something from Dr Suess. "All the Who's down in Whoville..." He embraced the little foibles, like a crooked tree and made them whimsical. Whimsical is definitely a word I would use to describe LaLande and Stephanie 😀 🦚🌲 Cheers to all of you!🥂

What I have done with my artificial tree is after one year when I put every orniment on "perfectly" (like you have done this year) I did not have the heart to tear it all down so... I twisted their hangers around each stem for permanent placement and I store away my tree fully decorated...It makes me so happy to see it every year all done...ready to go...no work..and so pretty ...I can turn it a bit each year for a view of the side not shown the year before for a totally "new" but still "perfect" look......I add about 5 ornaments each year to have something new to put on for the fun of it. I call it "Christmas without the work but all about the beauty and fun." It works great for me...I also store it inside the right side of a closet about 20 feet away from where it always gets placed...so no stairs to climb with it, ..the closet keeps the dust off...no lugging my tree around out of storage anymore.....instead.....WALA !!! Instant, pretty, no work, perfect, Christmas..

The tree turned out gorgeous. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I know that Michael is back home, but it has been wonderful seeing him be a part of the Christmas Diaries.

Maybe you can wire a wooden dowel onto the top trunk of the tree to force the top to be stable. Especially the tip top. Every year my tip top is bent so I used a steel orchid stake wired to it so it won’t fall over when I put the tree topper on.
A green long knitting needle l use , it work wonder.

Im not a tea lover but I’m certainly a tea set hoarder…drinking coffee from my Spode tea set whilst watching this is a very cozy indeed…love the drunken peacocktailtree don’t bother to even straighten it it is perfectly fine ❤️❤️❤️
I left my big oversized Spode cups at my up north shack in the woods. I miss them.
By the way if you buy them and you don’t get an under plate or big saucer you can buy a cream soup under plate on eBay and they work perfectly.

And yes, the synchronicity of everyone world-wide selecting from the same colour palette to make the tree department-store-spectacular is truly amazing. LaLande magic at work! Marie used to furnish the chapel with beautiful flower arrangements in recent Christmas’s and also the Nativity that Selmar repaired last year in the Advent Diaries

The Peacock Tree is very beautiful. If I could make one recommendation for next year. Use your beautiful peacock ribbon. There are tutorials on how to do ribbon. I think it will take your tree to another level. PS. Take some heavier gauge wire to secure your top to stop it from leaning. Secure the wire lower down wrapping it up to the top. The wire is usually green.

Cheers! I love Peacocktail Corner and all of the purple baubles. The drunken tree is a good cover story for that wobbly topper. If you must fix it, then might I suggest using a "back brace," such as a metal straw, chopstick or strong twig, to be attached with a bit of wire or green tape to the offending limb to give it support. But, I kind of enjoy the ironic humor of the tree's current state.
