It's that time of year again - CHRISTMAS AT THE CHATEAU has begun! Happy Advent!
Follow all of us as we get the chateau ready for a spectacular French Christmas.
Each day will be filled with decorating, cooking, gift buying, carol singing and discovering ancient Christmas traditions from around the world.
We couldn't love today's video more - we just published a gift guide for her and show a hat box from Antoinette Poisson because we are so madly in love with everything they do. How amazing that you went there - thank you so so much for the incredible tour.x

What blows my mind every time I watch some of the "let me show you another room at the chateau" episodes is how ENORMOUS this place is! Usually we only see the same 8 or 10 rooms--kitchen, grand salon, petite salon, dining room, a couple outbuildings and a couple bedrooms--but it just keeps going and going! The blue entryway! The leafy room! Nati's apartment! What's behind door #22?! I have GOT to get over there and get the full tour one day.

This may be one of my favorite places you've ever gone! And I have been so eager to see more of the servant's quarters and to learn what their fate will be (I still hold that the largest of the three rooms would make an excellent sewing studio for the chateau, especially now that the fabrics are so close to it in the attic!), and the mix of wallpapers has always fascinated me. Learning more about it and that it's actually an earlier design of wallpaper is so cool!

Dear Stephanie, La Landers and everyone preparing for Christmas. We sang this Advent song at Mass today, the 2nd Sunday of Advent. "People look East. The time is near, of the crowning of the year. Make your house fair as you are able. Trim the hearth and set the table. People look East and sing today. Love, the guest, is on the way." This so describes the activities at Chateau La lande now. The turquoise paper is one of the prettiest I've ever seen. Even a single sheet can be framed on a wall. Adhered to the wall then simply adding a wooden frame directly to the wall like paneling.
Not only soul confirming, engaging, educational, beautify, but glorious.

As a metal casting sculptor, I took classes in traditional woodblock design and printing. Thank you for bringing back some wonderful old memories of art school.
Stephanie, how exciting to find the same type of paper on the attic walls and to think you may not have realized what a gem it was if you had not visited that Parisian shop? I remember seeing that wallpaper in a much earlier video in the attic and the wallpaper wasn’t quite the centre of attention that it will be from now on. (I would be taking photos of all the old papers if they are not good enough to leave in situ, so in the future they could be reproduced to live on again.)

That was a treasure of a shopping trip! What a fabulous artisan business. I loved all of the paper, but the cream and the green with the birds was exquisite. I surprised you didn't buy Nati a box, as she loves her boxes! Lovely to buy gifts for all.

Fascinating vlog! Throughout the years we have spent many months in Paris and countryside as my husband is from Paris. I am definitely going to visit Chez Antionette Poisson on our next visit. In the meantime, their online shop is much appreciated.

Some of the rooms are pre changes of the last year and a half in the two older tours; like the entrance hall, red pigeon stairway and attics. You see the Grand Salon as it was originally and how it looked for years till this month. What fun.
More work for your future archivist! Fascinating to find that wallpaper still visible in the chateau. The trip to the shop was so informative and the prints are beautiful.
I know you said that there was an archivist in the village. Could you film an afternoon with him answering your questions or add more details as you do a new set of tours of the Chateau?
