Another great day today, my heart is growing with all the Christmas secrets, silliness and antics. I love how Sabina creates a back story and purpose for every article of clothing... she should write for the J. Peterman catalogue!
Lol!! I was thinking the same thing! Her imagery is so evocative! Land Girl chic would be fabulous on her! Hopefully she bought all the items. At those prices it’s worth experimenting with various styles!

Because of you I looked up j peterman ... . Did a little research and learned the company still exist. Yes! Sabina would be great she sounds just like the catalog . The clothes are so amazing . Great cut simple and well made.. I called them and spoke to a very helpful kind young woman. Their company still exist.
Yes, I remember my father being on their catalogue mail list in the early 80's. I think from an article at the back of New Yorker. So much fun reading the manual, when it arrived. Kept in the bathroom for light reading and entertainment. They did have a few store front, but went bust and then regrouped.

Just a note, Stephanie. Your uncle is soooo right about flashing lights versus constant ones. The flashing lights give me headaches! And Amaury’s voice is so wonderful and calming, the timbre of his voice, really, that he could read a phone book to me and any elements of stress in my life would immediately depart. Just sayin’.

I wish I could get on board with the espalier trees. I do love them but think they would be better in the walled garden or perhaps to line the path to the lake, but I am sure in person it looks right. I wish you all an amazing Christmas!

They have them in the wall garden also, but are fruit trees. They are being repruned.

I have an avenue of Lindon trees and I planted them to be pruned into two lines of narrow foliage. But we left the country and left them unpruned. So I appreciate the look Davey is developing and it is very French. I think the scale will be perfect for the size of the building. Everything was too small and too low before like the veg garden. My lindens are flowering now and full of beautiful bees. I will be harvesting flowers for tinsanes along with my bees' honey for delicious teas in the afternoon or breakfast.
You comment made me remember that my mother when pregnant with me in 1946 had the urge to sit under her Linden tree. They will look spectacular when leaves and flowers come out, I think Dave has great vision.

I find it so strange that I feel so happy every time one of the prodigal lalanders arrives back for Christmas! I have never physically met any of you but I truly feel as if my old friends have come for a visit and I find it a very perplexing feeling to be so truly comforted by their return. Stephanie, you have truly created a magical experience for those of us who have been fortunate enough to discover your amazing little world. I can’t imagine that this kind of community exists in this form anywhere or ever has existed anywhere where perfect strangers from every corner of this crazy world have developed a feeling of friendship and investment in a group of people who hardly any of us know personally. You guys are all truly amazing and wonderful and beautiful and talented and kind and endearing and I wish all of us and all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Did you know you can collect and dry the keys that grow on linden trees and make a very tasty tea of it? Another bonus of the tree you have chosen. I wasn’t sure of the courtyard structure but now that it is in place, I quite like it!
I love the scent of the flowers in June💛🌿
Yes it is call Tilleul tea . All my chilhood memories of grandpa tilleul tea before bed , good for sleep !!!! But it attract a lots of bees in summer , as it smell beautiful and will also fall and make a mess in the fontain, unless it is a Linden made to be without flowers. Does Stephanie know they are growing into some of the biggest trees . Hope there is no undergroung pipes where the trees are . The front of the facade of the chateau will disapear in time and the fontain will be totally shade in summer . But again it may be like a secret garden , l dont thing it will be what Stephanie imagine . My worries are the Roots of those trees planted too deep and still tied in a bowl and they think it is all right . ?????
I checked several times with Davy and he says that it’s normal to plant the trees like that

@@tinathene yes- the scent of the white flowers in springtime is another lovely aspect of Linden trees! Bees attracted to the tree shouldn’t be a problem - looking after pollinators is a good thing. Luckily Amaury has learned bee keeping!! He’ll keep them organized.🐝

Philip I quite like the pie dish it's whimsical and interesting. Of course it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks , if it brings you joy then you should have it. I am sure there are others that won't care for it, but that is their taste and hopefully wouldn't be so rude as to disparage your choices.

In the US we use hollow faux stones ( small boulder size) to cover things we wish to hide.
