    Coming in for a landing at the airport, the pilot warns us of altitude sickness and offers quite a few tips in case you feel dizzy and lightheaded. That’s La Paz. 5000 m or 16,500 fr above sea level. Extreme city. And pretty wonderful.

    • @anso5833
      @anso5833 Před 3 měsíci

      @@gregrussell7821 Hi, I'm not really sure about the budgeting because I went when I was young, so it was paid for by my parents. I think Santa Cruz is probably more expensive because it is a bigger and more modern city. I went to Arampampa, a city up in the mountains. It isn't expensive there and there is beautiful nature, but there is a lot of poverty there so as a child coming from a Western country it was a very big culture shock. There weren't any hotels available, so we had to sleep with 6 in one bedroom. I don't know if this place is recommended for tourists either since I was told it could get dangerous, but I definitely recommend visiting a city up in the mountains with a native or tour guide because the you have to see the scenery there. I also went to Cochabamba, it's a very big city and there's lots to do there, I think this is maybe in the middle range. Not as expensive as Santa Cruz, but more expensive than Arampampa or any city high up in the mountains for that matter. I suggest you maybe look up more information on this topic, but these are some suggestions. Bolivia is a very beautiful country and I'm happy you get to visit it, definitely try to learn some basic Spanish if you haven't already, I'm sure the Bolivians will love it!

Honestly they fade into the picture waaaay to badly for this interested Aussie to focus and try and read along with. Sorry guys but I'm missing a good half of everything these fascinating locals are saying and I've had to click off watch something else not 10 minutes into it... Bolivia in Winter was a very rewarding, yet challenging experience.
    Do find Alpaca knit gear in La Paz.
    Do Explore the witches market.
    DO NOT stay out after 9-10pm, you risk getting robbed or stabbed.
    DO NOT film around the city, there is allot of drug activity and people DO NOT like cameras.
    DO NOT seek out the rotating Cocaine bar in La Paz
    There is VERY little tourists infrastructure, you will find it difficult if your not use to basic conditions.

    This documentary illustrates the unlimited adaptability of human beings , able to survive at high altitudes, high latitudes, in the desert, in the jungle, underground, on the sea,in space ( international space station, and soon the Moon ). That's the reason why I find the narrative of the " doom and gloom" crowd ( Greta Thunberg ) false and ridiculous.
