My favorite Frasier inside joke was in an episode where he runs into his ex-wife, Nanny G, who's a children's entertainer. i did know it from the very first season,Niles/David was an obvious one.I adore him,Niles was always one of my very favourite characters in Frasier.Great actor too,he was very good in that movie "Perfect Host". I get the vibe that he would be a lovely person in real life.He has a gentle kinda aura about him,if that doesn't sound too flaky lol.
Actually, he has a reputation for being a bit sharp -- ''doesn't suffer fools gladly'' -- that sort of thing. Which isn't unusual among very smart, very talented people who are deluged by public attention. I wonder whether you're making the entirely understandable mistake of the appreciative viewer: Seeing what you want to see, or confusing the actor with what you like about the character. (No offense intended; we all do it.) ........... John Mahoney, on the other hand, had a reputation as a very down-to-earth person, somewhat more approachable (tho I'm sure he had his limits as well).

If you can get TV shows from the UK, you might like W1A, Quacks, Back, and Inside No. 9 -- all very clever. (Inside No. 9 can be very dark, tho, so be forewarned; the others are all clearly comedies.)

RE: the first scene where Frasier sarcastically says Niles' reaction to Roz's date means he's gay. Reminds me of the episode where the new (male) station manager gets the impression Frasier is gay and wants to date the new manager, while at the same time Frasier tries to fix up the new manager with Roz. Don't recall the name of the episode, but the concluding scene is one of the best. Similar to the episode where Patrick Stewart plays the opera director and starts a gay relationship with Frasier. Frasier knows it, but is enjoying the perqs of the relationship too much to be honest with Stewart, until the closing scene, another classic.
He tries to fix up the new manager with Daphne, not Roz. That of course creates all sorts of misunderstandings and makes Niles jealous until he discovers the truth and then gets a good laugh at Frasier's expense. Very funny episode.
At the risk of being, well ... something ... I can imagine that is wasn't particularly hard for Sir Patrick Stewart to play, with subtlety, a gay guy -- instead of the stereotypical 'minceing queen' -- given both his acting skills, and his close friendship with Sir Ian Mckellen, the latter having been out for years ...
After just watching this clip earlier today, I was watching an episode on Cozi TV tonight when Nanny G ( an ex-wife of Frasier's). She has this great line when she's complaining about playing the part of a children's entertainer and says to Frasier" Do you have any idea what it's like to play the same character for 20 years?" Well, at that point , between Cheers and Frasier, Kelsey had been playing Frasier, you guessed it, 20 years. A missed opportunity for this video
Nanny G was played by the amazing Emma Thompson on the Cheers episode. So that line would have been really funny had they managed to snag her to play the part again. You are right though, that is still a funny line and a true inside joke.
So many funny episodes! Innumerable pieces of hilarity. Hit every bit of emotion. Oddly enough where I got really emotional, was seeing the same guy in the same red work shirt pick up Martin's chair at the end. I thought, oh how cool of the show to bring him a little bit of recognition, we remembered him! A bit of familiarity, and a signal we'd never see him again, brought a little more heartbreak
Nice video. Thanks for posting. I liked the Maureen character. She would have made a good match for Martin if they'd have kept her around. They had a nice chemistry.
I remember being 5 when this was on tv. For me Fraiser meant that wrestling was over and my parents would then take over the tv and watch it and i would get up and play in my room. I then watched the whole series randomly 6 years ago when I was 22 and loved every second of it. It’s just had so many memorable moments and since I took psychology and sociology in high school I actually understood a lot of the jokes like “Pygmalionism” and the competing ideas of Jung and Freud that comes up between Niles and Frasier. I can see why it won so many emmys and Kelsey grammar was the highest paid tv star at the time!
I've been watching "Frasier" on Netflix. I forgot how addicting it is. I watch it every night on Netflix before I go to bed.
I'm currently binging it on Hulu! Love this show.
"This pointy hat is a babe magnet!" classic
+William Drake Years ago I found one of those hats worn by the French Foreign Legion and women were giving me the eye like never before. I don't know what happened to that hat now that I'm thinking about it.
Now we got another Putin in Russia other than Ras
Get a dunce cap. Chicks dig those.
“Just because I gave her a ride doesn’t mean I have to spend the whole evening with her.” Man I don’t really care for comedies that rely on misunderstanding but frasier did it perfectly
One the most well written and acted shows DHP is a gem!
i did know it from the very first season,Niles/David was an obvious one.I adore him,Niles was always one of my very favourite characters in Frasier.Great actor too,he was very good in that movie "Perfect Host".
(No offense intended; we all do it.)
........... John Mahoney, on the other hand, had a reputation as a very down-to-earth person, somewhat more approachable (tho I'm sure he had his limits as well).
@@JJ21210 i’m wondering why you needed to use this persons comment to start a think piece? Why and How in the hell would they know what DHP is like in real life? The poster is obviously of the show and of him why would they would hes “sharp in real life”. Not to mention he plays Niles so effortlessly, someone who is a little innocent and gentle, it seems like it could be his natural personality
im still watching frasier and its 2019 :D
2020
2021 and there will never be a better show than Frazier!!
This really was " the smartest show on TV ". Too bad we have so much " Reality TV " crap passing as " entertainment ".
If you can get TV shows from the UK, you might like W1A, Quacks, Back, and Inside No. 9 -- all very clever. (Inside No. 9 can be very dark, tho, so be forewarned; the others are all clearly comedies.)
knoxvilleguy2 Goodness. Happens
Always enjoyable.
Amen to that!!!
Damn right
Wow, this was very interesting. Thank you for posting.
Never gets old , can watch over and over
I love Frazier. I rewatched all 11 seasons while my newborn was napping!
Now your newborn is 12 and can't read, write, or walk but has excellent taste in TV shows.

I love it when the comment section delivers what the actual video did not!
I love frasier, I watch this show all the time. ☺️☺️☺️❤️❤️❤️
Love that 2nd scene with Lois (the mom) from Malcolm in the Middle. A crossover between my, probably, two favourite comedy shows ever.
Fraser is Awesome!
At the end of that episode, Frasier's wife dressed as Eve, leaves with Satan.
Such clever writing / attention to detail.
Masterpiece
It was called the Matchmaker
@@GoGreen1977 , was on last night
At the risk of being, well ... something ... I can imagine that is wasn't particularly hard for Sir Patrick Stewart to play, with subtlety, a gay guy -- instead of the stereotypical 'minceing queen' -- given both his acting skills, and his close friendship with Sir Ian Mckellen, the latter having been out for years ...
The Halloween episode is absolutely hilarious!
Hilarity in true human angst of every character
"This pointy hat is a babe magnet!"
Best sitcom EVER!!!!!
Love this show!!!
😆✌🏻💖🌈
2021 and rumour has it Frasier is returning 👍🏻👍🏻
Just binged 264 episodes of Frazier...all still funny as hell all these years later...also Cheers...RIP Kirstie...:(
I love these shows that use the actors family. Its sweet. Thanks for sharing
Perfect sitcom
I can't believe I watch the repeats every morning ,brilliant show
After just watching this clip earlier today, I was watching an episode on Cozi TV tonight when Nanny G ( an ex-wife of Frasier's).
Best show ever!
The best of all time.
I love this show.
Great show!
Best show ever
This and Cheers are awesome
When they did the 1940s radio show, i couldn't stop laughing 😂😂😂
Nice video. Thanks for posting.
I liked the Maureen character. She would have made a good match for Martin if they'd have kept her around. They had a nice chemistry.
Loved the Halloween episode. Niles as Cyrano was so much fun!
I like that episode too!
The misunderstanding, Roz...
And of course Niles because of course .. Niles.
That Halloween costume party episode was the first one I ever watched. Finding out Roz was pregnant - talk about spoiler alert! 🤣🤣
In September 1993 when Frasier first aired I entered junior high school as a 7th grader
My favorite was the clap on clap off show. Hilarious
This was uploaded 11 years ago. How awesome 😎.
Please upload MORE! 😂💕👍🌴🌴💯
aww DHPs dad is so cute
The writing in this show was pure genius..
"The good book?" Oh, I just got it!
They just dont make shows like this anymore smh!
2022 and still fenomenal to me! ❤️❤️❤️
I love the episode set in the coffee shop the entire time, my favourite.
WATCHING 20 YEARS EARLIER. N. NOW. LAUGHTER,,,,TY
just discovered it, so funny i now have to go and find all episodes
"Well, I uh... Was shot by an armed suspect." I always found that line to be cute (though someone getting shot is never funny!).
It's just how casually how Martin mentioned it. He's a great guy like that.
Depends on who's getting shot.
I've been watching "Frasier" on Netflix. I forgot how addicting it is. I watched this show as a child and young pre-teen and I honestly believe that was a reason why I was intellectually ahead of my peers, especially when it came to literary, musical, or travel references. Why can't there be shows like this anymore?! I need to get it all on DVD just in case I can't find it in the future, that way my children can watch it as well.
