  • As I indicated in the video this was my first time making Beldi soap, and I’m so glad I did. I was totally inspired to adventure a little deeper into the Beldi soap world.
My apologies, a couple times in the video I called the lye "sodium potassium", which is incorrect, I used "potassium hydroxide", to make the Beldi soap.
Other than the essential oils I used, the recipe demonstrated in the video was an exact replication of what is written in the book, The Little Book of Beldi Soap, A modern take on a classical soap. Authored by Rebecca Wright.

Namaste ma’am. I made the traditional once before and I love it. I do want to figure out a way to level up. I should buy her book. I just bought the book. It’s an e book which is not my favorite way to purchase books but I’ll print it.

I really like her book. She has some really cool ideas, also I see this as a greats tool to help you expand your own creativity.

When I was in Morocco in November, I bought about 1kg of Moroccan black soap and brought it back to Toronto. I looked at it the other day and noticed that it’s become very liquidy, essentially the consistency of juice. What caused this to occur? Is it possible to fix it (I was thinking boiling maybe)? I tried googling for answers, but I couldn't find any.

Sorry to hear what has happened to your soap. Without knowing the ingredients, processes and all the other nuances that accompanied the manufacturer’s soap making process the fix is difficult to determine. You need to reach out to the creator/manufacturer of the soap, they are should be able to provide instructions on how to fix the issue.

    Thank you for sharing.
Please explain how to use the Beldi olive oil soap. Is water added to the jar? Or after the face is moistened with water, is the soap added to the face?

You do not put water in the jar. This is how I use it. I dampen my face with a bit of water. I take a dime size or less of soap put it in my hands, add a bit of water to generate lather, then proceed to wash my face.

@@DeGanyaAromatics Thank you. You introduced something new to me. I was a little confused on how to use it. Your clarity is greatly appreciated.
