Thank you for watching the video. I like tallow a lot, it can be soothing very dry, itchy skin.

Something I read about using tallow/lard in soap - and from a vegetarian no less- is that it shows honor to the animal that a part normally sent to garbage is used to make something so beautiful and useful.
Loved the video and will give your soap a try. Thanks!

Thanks for watching the video. Regarding honoring the animal, I never knew that. Wonderful and enlightening piece of information to share with others as the opportunity becomes available.

Just adding a comment to boost your video! Thanks for sharing your process! I haven't made soap in a while because the last cp soaps I made (about 5 pounds of soap!) accelerated on me so badly... LOL! I had soap on a stick in about 3 SECONDS after I added my fragrance. I was so discouraged. But I was able to rebatch it into something quite lovely. I felt better after that. I've been looking into hot process soap to see if it would be a better method of creating fragranced soap. I'd like to keep my product(s) as natural as possible, and I'm wondering if hot process would be the way to go?
On a positive note: I also learned that my rotary style, hand crank, cheese grater worked like a dream to shred my failed soap batches. Yay! It ended up being a lavender colored, fig scented, soap. It lathers so nicely. I don't think it's a sellable product because it looks too rustic - for my brand/packaging, but next time... I think I could create something that's sellable. I wonder if rebatching my soap and THEN adding my fragrance would be a way to preserve the fragrance?? I'm gonna try a rebatched soap and see what-all happens.
Thanks for sharing your technique with us. I use lard to make lots of stuff, that's why I'm called "This Little Piggy" ... LOL! I haven't had a chance to use tallow. Don't mind the haters that leave nasty comments about using animal fats.

    Sabrina

Thank you for taking the time to watch the video, it is appreciated. My apologies for the delay in responding. I have been a bit under the weather. Good to hear about your re-batching success , doesn’t it feel absolutely wonderful. Whenever mines are successful I have a big smile on my face. I like both hot process and cold process soap making. There are pros and cons to both methods. It will take time for you to decide which one you like best. I like them both so I flip-flop between the two. I love your sense of humor. Keep up the good work, stay creative.
