Thanks so much for allowing me to be on your awesome channel Dan!
Any time Old Dog! It was my pleasure.
Paul is the coolest guy on the internet. Great interview young man.
@@dynasty50his mind set reminds me of Tyler in fight club โSome times the things you own, end up owning YOU!โ
Iโm a pooriegner not a foreigner, very nice Paul.๐คฃ
Great interview Paul! Really enjoyed it. At least you have some wisdom for an old dog ๐
I spent an hour with Paul in a coffee shop in Duma and he was very nice and helpful. I enjoyed my time talking to him. He is what you see.
Thanks for sharing!
Don't get married just because you are lonely...best piece of advice I heard over the last year. If you are emotionally messed up before you get to the Philippines try your best to be at peace with yourself before you show up.
Correct. Much better to be lonely than lonely *and* broke.
Makes sense bro๐๐๐
@@jshepard152 funny but true๐๐
โDonโt get married just because your lonelyโ.
I say, โDonโt get married period!โ Because the relationship rarely lasts forever.
Wasnโt it Henry Youngman that saidโฆ โDonโt get married, just find a woman you hate and buy her a houseโ.
Great video guys.
There are some bitter dudes in the world...my Dad was married to my Mom for 41 years before she passed away...the love of his life...he got married about two years later, because he believes in marriage, so do I...fix yourself first...a woman definitely doesn't need that responsibility...๐คช๐คช๐ต๐ญ
Paul is such a likable guy. I enjoy his videos a lot and this partnership with Dan is gold.
One of the best interviews Iโve seen of Paul. Great job Dan.
@@kippsguitar6539 oh sure-He is has a great lady and living the way he likes, living for money aint nothing in this world but a litmus test for those who are the fools!
โ@@kippsguitar6539 well, i'm sure if you lose most of your stuff/relations/future at 61, you'll do better
@@kippsguitar6539 Divorces will do that to you. Dude didn't learn his lesson apparently
Successful people don't become that way overnight. most people see at a glance-wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life too ๐๐๐
Starting early is the best way of getting ahead to build wealth, investing remains a priority. I learnt from my last year's experience, i am able to build a suitable life because I invested early ahead this time
I urge everyone to start somewhere now no matter how small, this is literally the time for that, forget material things, don't get tempted,i became more better the moment i realized this.
yeah investment is the key to sustaining your financial longevity but venturing into any legitimate Investment without a proper guidance of an expert can lead to a great loss too
exactly! That's my major concern and what kind of profitable business or investment can someone do with the current rise in economic downturn
Hello nice advice here, please what exactly kind of investment are you talking about here, I'm really interested too
My two favorite expat vloggers . Genuine, honest, human. Thank you, both.
Wow, thank you!
Good wisdom. I'm learning what's important in my 40's and in some cases feel like I've wasted a lot of time chasing nothing........
Same here. Moving to Turkiye in a few months and saying goodbye to the USA ๐
My story is so much like Pauls except I retired at 50 and moved to Fiji. I am now 67 and will be moving to Asia at the beginning of the year and slow traveling til my end of years.
Paul is living a good life and knows his math really well... I hope all young people will learn from this vlog.
Dan is a good host. He let the guest talk n doesn't interrupt. Watching from Bay area CA.
Best saying I heard years ago....'Time tarnishes your trophies" As in, you work all your life for your trophies but in the end, no one will know/understand what it took you to earn that trophy.
Dan has traveled to more than 67 countries and gives away lots of valuable info, Paul is a good guy, but he has traveled only in some Estern Asia countries.
To keep up with rising cost we are beginning to see the equity of our home for what it truly is, Its becoming hard for us seniors not to ask the obvious question: โShould we cash in, invest the money, and rent/relocate?โ my wfe doesnt buy in on this idea.
Move out of the country. Don't sell your house, rent it out. Your house will help finance your new life.
Perhaps the most important element in a successful life in the Philippines, is to be lucky in love. That, and a partner who is faithful, honest and financially responsible, with some skills and income stream of her own. Itโs a big ask to get all the above, and in my 25 years of experience of the Philippines, very few get it right.
Dan, this is one of my favorite interviews . The chemistry and compatibility of both rich personalities that are just right down to earth. One learns so much about life while having fun watching this video. Good luck to both of you always.
He is cool, A car guy Some of the coolest people work in that industry. I can picture him desking some deals back in the day.
Paul , i truely believe your success in retiring in the Philippines is in large part due to you finding such a good woman as Baby May!
NO๐ซSTRESS
My two favorite expatriate, social media personalities; both down-to-earth and personable.
Two of my favorite youtubers together. Nice treat. Thanks guys !
Glad you two did this together! You both have so much wisdom and understanding from your experiences to share. I've been a subscriber since you both started and I get Dan's reports on where I want to go. Retired 6 months now, donated all my belongings (don't need them anymore). I also get Dan's reports as a lifetime member too. Paul has some of the most heart felt videos that have had such an impact on me. I've spent 3 years preparing myself by getting into the best physical shape possible to be ready for my journey. Retired at 62 and 6 months on my journey already in Mexico. I'm in Queretaro which is in Dan's top 5. It belongs in the top 5! I'm following your advise and finding such great places in the Centro area. You can definitely live here very well under $1500 per month as Dan has shown me how it was possible! Almost tempted to c'mon over to where your at now instead of another 6 months on this side. Please follow both of these great gents of our time. you won't regret it!
You both are amazing! I learn so much from you all. Recently retired, i cant wait for my journey to begin in the next few months with a trrrific roadmap you both provided. โค you guys!
Good luck. I hope your days become fully yours. I'm just a few years behind ya. โ๏ธ
You're my kind of guy's...I'm 62 and ready to get off the treadmill. Thank you for this enjoyable discussion.
Please get off ASAP - health and time are most valuable assets
it's so precious to watch a video that is full of real life words from real experienced person..
I love listening to Paul. He is full of wisdom. This is an awesome video
I love listening to Old Dog. He is such a pragmatist and no BS yet polite. He is sort of an every man in many ways.
Same as many above, I have been watching you both for a while - great to see you interview each other - keep up the great work! Cheers!
Good to see two of my favorites sharing practical advice for retirement. From 62/63-70 Iโll bounce from USA & Philippines. After 70 just the Philippines
You 2 have such great chemistry! You're a top bloke Dan, glad you're happy in life. Great inspiration for me and many.
Excellent interview, Dan. I really enjoyed hearing Paul's take on life lessons. Thx for sharing.
Paul's tips are golden for anyone looking to thrive in the Philippines. Really practical and inspiring.
This was absolutely a fantastic interview !!!
Been waiting for this interview for a while!
Two of my favorites right here! Thanks
Great piece. Complicated issues that were discussed In a light hearted and succinct way.
When Paul talks, everything is fair game. And he is honest, even at his own expense.
Such a great interview. Love the Old Dawg. Same thing happened to me. I'll be in PI retired in Aug.
I love Old Dog videos. Also yours , thanks guys
Retired Air Force Officer here, was stationed in the Philippines, been back to visit many times since the 1980's. Here's the deal - the Philippines has it's benefits, however, it also has many, many drawbacks. If money is not an issue (like for myself), then America offers so many more benefits over living in the Philippines. If a man is on a social security budget, then the Philippines is a good choice. I'm in my 60's, love to kayak, play pickleball, bike ride, jet ski, fish around Florida, and live without "brownouts". I like dealing with people in America vs dealing with the Philippine people in the Philippines, because it's often some kind of excuse for something, or it takes forever to get things done and nobody seems to be responsible. The Philippines has unsafe roads, too much diesel smoke pollution, dirt everywhere, and a government that just isn't on top of things. Living in the Philippines ..... well, you just have to accept the way things are over there. Life in America can be fantastic if money is not an issue, and I'm not rich, just comfortable enough with a little extra each month. But, I will say, that perhaps the biggest benefit to living in the Philippines is, if you are a single man, meeting a nice young gal there is quite easy. And, I believe that most western men know that the Philippines is relatively cheap and one of the best countries worldwide to meet a nice young gal to date or have a relationship with, and older western men can easily date gals 30 or 40 years their junior. That's quite a big attraction for many men worldwide! Best of Luck!
Infrastructure in Philippines now is a lot better.Even in the provinces. So many major roads projects big and small.Diesel pollution is a lot lesser now in major cities. But if really want to get away from donโt stay in major cities.Stay in the province in Visayas and Mindanao.Where fresh air is guaranteed.
Where were you stationed?
Finally! Someone with a brain! Yes, aside from the health care issue, the Philippines can sometimes be a logical choice for those forced to live on a cheap-charlie Social Security only budget. With some cultural adaptation and acceptance that they won't be living a Western lifestyle, it's possible to live modestly on a Social Security check in the Philippines and have a live-in companion. Living on a Social Security check in the U.S. means poverty, reliance on government programs, and loneliness. The problem with old-age companionship in the Philippines, is the myth that these young Filipinas love old men. They don't! It's a biological impossibility. The world over, young attractive people are attracted to other young attractive people. No young woman wants to take care of an old man. Extreme age-gap relationships are based on survival and convenience. They always involve a desperately poor Filipina and a gullible self-deluded old man who was spurred-on by these snake oil peddling vloggers like Paul. And this lovely young Filipina usually comes carrying utang na loob (an obligation to support family). Due to this, most expat retirees will crash and burn and return to the states within 5 years. Many will return due to medical issues they are not financially equipped to pay for out of pocket.
I like the diversity and differences of the Philippines, that to me is the advantage ,when you are not on the day to day treรขdmill and have many choices for entertainment and fresh foods at affordable prices. The weather is big plus also where I am from we get subzero temperatures with limited sunshine for months. The people of the philippines are also inviting and kind who will share there lives also.
This was a great interview. We should call him 'Old Dog teaching Tricks'.
Youโre an awesome human being, I listen to you and if I ever meet you, Iโd love to shake your hand. Be safe, buddy.
Nice interview, enjoyed it!
Two wonderful gentle men, with good words of wisdom,
You 2 have a great chemistry ๐งช and are a wealth of knowledge. Thank you both for your hard work and dedication ๐๐๐โค
Wow, thank you!
Informative!! Sensible Talk!!
Loooving this!!โคโคโคโค
Itโs a very logical and important video because money only goes so far, but in the beautiful Philippines ๐ต๐ญ it goes so much further and the people on these Islands are amazingly kind and happy !!
Awesome video! ๐
Excellent Interview!
Really good video as always. Thank you Dan and Paul
Paul is so funny, humble, and authentic.
Great video , amazing info . I would do this right now if I could just convince my wife . I love watching your videos .
I Could've Had My Sister Show You Around, But She Moved Back To The US About 10 Years Ago, But I Continue To Pray ๐ That GOD Bless You With The Rest Of Your European Vacation/Trip โค๐
I love the trolling screenshot banner :)
Well done!
Thank u guys, its a nice conversation. It adds my knowledge๐. Thank u for good job.๐
Wow, two star pros on tubes are meeting and shining so bright! Love to watch you folks.....
Two of my Fav's! Great discussion.
Thanks for commenting.
Allstar team CZcamsrsโฆthis is so good too see you two together.
Excellent video Dan and Paul!
Paul, I totally agree with your outlook on material things in life. Many people today would have been in a much better financial state if they didnโt concern themselves with material things. I learned that later in life; but thankfully itโs not too late for me.
Oh yeah! Love watching great people doing what they want. Keep on keeping on. โค๐ Wish..
Great interview by two likeable CZcamsrs. I see you are both color coordinated. ๐
Love ya Old Dog.....I embrace your philosophy regarding ones need for 'things'.....
I got enlighten with this conversation, Paul make sense, from big box house and a small box house, fancy car trying hard to make payment monthly, financial stress not living a life. now I wanna retired early and enjoy life.
What a 'character' Paul is ! - - Been following his "stuff" for a few years now and he makes it interesting all the time. The kind of person I could be friends with for certain. His life gives inspiration to many guys (perhaps some gals) who maybe can relate to life's challenges and one mans solution to those challenges. His open honest sincere approach is very refreshing these days given all the 'alternatives' out there !?! --- Good job Dan.
Keep up the great work Dan! In Europe for the first time today and happy to be back travelling.
Very cool. Rock on.
That was super enjoyable to watch. You guys make a terrific team. And Paul is totally open with lots of heart felt wisdom.
Wow what an awesome interview. Some really deep topics and hilarious moments. The guy is really enjoying life!! Other than the heat, it makes me want to move there.
Paul made me subscribe๐ฎ๐๐
Paul has the gift of the gab.
I have been married 3x in the states, (slow learner), everything your saying applies every where. Been single now eight years, more savings than ever before. Travel two to three times a year, Japan, Europe. May go to the Philippines next, I worked one summer in Hawaii when I was 16, loved it I love the Ocean...
Great interview
Absolutely love this interview
Two of my favorite channels ๐
I've been following Paul from the beginning and he is down to earth and very honest and real. I'm glad he has grown his channel and has still remained the same.
Thank you for this post. I cant wait to retire back home
Dan, good interview. Paul is always enjoyable to listen to.
Good stuff , love the video !!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Loved it!
Sucess is mainly down to networking and taking action, being consistent and allowing your habits to compound over time.
Great video, enjoyable conversation providing great information. Thanks to the both of you!!!
One of the best videos I've ever watched. Old Dog gave some great advice for later in life. Much appreciated. ๐
Thanks for interviewing Paul. I've also watched his channel too over the last year and found him to be an inspirational and down to earth honest guy.
Inspiring story Paul!
Thanks Dan!
Paul is my kind of guy. Heโs my age. A minimalism and practical man. Just like my long lost husband. Honest and calm. Simple man to be with. I love this kind of man. Paul is humble and kind. It reminds me with my husband. I lost my husband for 43 yrs.Nice to know that there is still a good guy like him around.
Top notch chat! Pls do another, different questions, more on entertainment ?
GREAT INTERVIEW!!!
Dan, I've watched both you and Paul for quite some time now, and seeing your interaction and chemistry together was fantastic!
I related to Paul's story and means so much. Since the interview you did with me, now 6 months later, my experience living in Pattaya, Thailand has been incredible. What a great life here!
Once again, great job bro!
Great stuff!
Thanks for doing this interview. Paul is a pleasure to listen to. Great attitude and energy. Interesting, funny and informative. The way it should be. On the same page here all the way. Don't find many like him around that I can find anyway. Appreciation and respect to both of you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good interview. Thanks
So good to see you interview each other! Based on Dan's suggestions I have now visited both Baguio Philippines and am now in Puerto Galera, 2 of Dan's top 10 places in the Philippines.
In love with and considering a longer term place here in Puerto Galera, a great beach town area.
Excellent interview Dan. Thanks Paul.
How was Baguio?
Our pleasure Robert. Hope to meet you in the Philippines before we leave.
Great video, life is too short, we need to make our dreams come true. Iโm 51 and ready to take it easy in the near future. I believe to never buy anything that you canโt pay cash for. Thanks for what these videos, good stuff.
Thanks for a great interview Dan! I gave it a like. I have watched some of Paul's videos before. You made me decide that I'll subscribe to his channel too. Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing, I'm new to the channel.
I have watched The Old Dog from the beginning. Heโs come a long way and stayed the same. True retirement success story.
Iโve watched both of your channels for a few years already. You both have youโre own style and both offer relevant ( or sometimes not so ) information. Watching Paul and the other Duma dogsโ inspired me to spend time in the Philippines, which I have. Iโve spent most of my time in Iloilo City and Boracay. Although, I would want to return at some time and see more of the country. Iโve followed Dan and have a eaten at some of his and Qungsโ favorite restaurants across Mexico. Currently I am in Thailand on Phuket exploring the island and other nearby places. I want to thank you both for helping inspire myself and others to see there is more than we were conditioned to become. God, willing Iโd love to meet you both someday.
Just say when Jack, :-)
