3.5
5!!
4... it looks OEM, and it looks good!
Interesting project, turned out nice though. 4.5.
You should spray a car with cocaine lol
Diluting it was definitely the right choice, and yes, redoing last week's Galaxy with a much lighter load would be great. 5/5 for the sparkle. I would suggest grabbing a mask when handling that stuff dry lol (probably best to do it outside the paint zone so that it doesn't contaminate later jobs).
I love the sparkle tho!
"Another weird random pigment thing that probably was never meant to go into plasti dip..."
Stop already, you got my Thumbs up.
If the pigment was initially intended for resin work, it may have had a level of occlusion and/or intentional grouping (pigment interlocking) that was meant for thicker pours, giving a 'geode' look at the right angle...suffice to say, I love that we can continue to experiment and realize that just in general, colors in whatever medium they come, were meant to be our artistic discovery...
3.5 good job
Yup its always an experiment messing with colored pearls and flake.
I seen it moving around in the air, when you knocked it off your finger and pouring it. You should be painting the sticks in the base color so that way you can get an idea of what the finish looks like before spraying the vehicle.
Boom! This guy gets it.
I agree totally! BUT using the same “stick of truth” adds a level of mystery to the finished product. If it was painted as a base coat people would probably click off the video before they even paint it.
@@kodiak_on_fire2693 it’s a gimmick. A fun one though.
It’s a good 5 for those who prefer subtle sparkles. It blends in with the base so well you’d never know you added a pearl until you hit the right angle, then BAM!
I like the subtlety of this. You made the right call to cut the original down. You didn't ask for a numeric rating, but I'd give it a solid 5.
A solid 4, I think the pigment load for the final product was perfect. And yes, please redo the galaxy pigment experiment with a lower pigment load.
5, there is so much depth to this you can literally see every layer and they blend harmoniously.
Would love to see a slightly higher pigment load on just a regular base color.
I’d love to see you combine some of that leftover with a bunch of other things to see what it can do - starting with that galaxy pigment from the last video!
Going to give this finish the weirdest compliment: it gives me bowling alley vibes. Sparkly 90s feeling in the best way possible, especially in tandem with the colors used under the Diamond Dust sparkles.
I love it.
Love it! That’s a 5 for me.
Wish you would do more of the returned item mystery videos. I loved those.
As one who uses this stuff regularly with epoxy resin, it was hilarious to watch y'all immediately make the first mistake with this 'cause yeah a little goes a very long way 😂
But it turned out really cool! 😄
I love these Dr Frank'n Spark Mad Science Experiments. - You should have wore a mask when mixing this powder in - Not thinking it was good to breath in..... Great Content as usual !!!!!!!!!
5. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Gabe, you were correct. It is translucent. That previous hipershift blue/pink still can be appreciated behind the diamond dust. I love your adventurous curious spirit. I loved that it did not sink, that will make every stroke or layer the same as the first.
Thank you guys.
5. The combination jumps right out at you. Great combo.
No matter how things turn out I still dig your mad mix color science experiments. This was a SPARKLING success.
Love how it looks like it's just snowing in the video with all the flake in the air.
Definitely want to see the Galaxy flake redone with a bunch less flake in it. I think this video turned out pretty good, but I think this one needed a little bit more flake to it. It's so subtle you might not even notice the sparkle from the Diamond Dust flake. Maybe that what you guys were going for here, but I personally would have liked to see it with a little bit more sparkle.
Started as a 2 and ended at a 6! It brought a deepness to the blue but still had a surface shimmer. I think you should spray a car with the 2 gallons you have left. Maybe a yellow base coat to see if it's translucent or opaque!
That trunk transition to side was awesome. The pinkish hue is solid. But those aftersparkles were what had me in awe. I love it. I was gonna suggest maybe some lowlight shop or streetlight rollers to also accentuate the colors from night and day pops and maybe some led color shifts like popping in the intro or outro in the shop. Loving it as always Fonz, keep doing awesomeness 💪🤙🍺❤️
I'd give this one a 4 outta 5 ... Probably would have been 3, but it gets a +1 for no green :o) Overall the effect was really good. I'm REALLY glad you decided to cut it some more to reduce the sparkle. It was a really good choice.
NOTE: It's probably ground up fish scales like they put in cosmetics.
1. That turned out pretty slick!
2. I have an unrelated question -- on the channel, 99% of the time the project is always a coupe, sedan, or wagon, but I've been strongly considering doing a DYC finish on a Range Rover Sport with a split tailgate. Are there any special considerations for split tailgates when dipping a vehicle with one, and is it something you'd consider showing on the channel if you were able to get access to one?
On their website you can send them questions about anything you need. They're very helpful.
I have some friends that want me to dip their motorcycles I'd like to see them do it first
Awesome sparkle. It’s a great mix. I need some of that on my yellow 04 corvette !
It looks MAGICAL!!! And yes, please re-visit the galaxy dip!!
5, love that blue.
I'd like to see purple interference pearls in a gloss topcoat sprayed on top of something like the Stealth Green kit. I suggest it be called "The Donnie" (as in Donatello from TMNT). With the right angles you'd see streaks of purple which could look like a headband on a turtle head. Plus, green and purple both look great with gold wheels, so why not have both?!?
Would love to see you revisit the galaxy flake attempt with less pigment. This project turned out super well!
The base coat alone is such a great colour. The final result is a winner for me.
5. Blue is my favorite color and it has the right amount of sparkle. That purple glow is slick as hell.
It's pretty borderline for me, I might have thinned it out one more time. That stuff is pretty potent. I give it a 3.5/5 - but that's really down to personal preference. There's no way I'm walking past that car and not recognizing that paint job looks amazing!
It’d be nice to see a comparison of what that hyper shift would look like without the extra coats on top, because I’m not getting a ton of sparkle effect
Yes. From the beginning, it's opaque. That was apparent on your finger. This is a time where less is more. Not enough less is way too much more.
WHOA! You guys got it totally right! That's not easy to do with diamond dust. I don't do cars, but I do resin.
I actually REALLY love this. Black car trial is a MUST
I definitely wamt to see a revisit of that galaxy video. What you should do is decide how much black pigment you want, then add small bits of the flake to get the right amount to your tastes. 5 grams at a time on the flake will walk you up to your desired finish without blowing right by it. 😉
I'd like to see that galaxy flake put over a white finish to get a better idea; I think over black something gets lost.
Like the galaxy flake, it looks incredible up close, but I feel like all it does is make the clear coat "pop" more from a distance. I'd like to see this used over a matte black and see if it has the same effect. I'd also like to see it at the original concentration (15 g/2 gal).
4/5 this looks beautiful, right amount of sparkle for this type of colorshift. Love it
Proving again subtlety is king! Excellent video guys
5! I really like the subtle color changes and the sparkle is outstanding with really awesome depth.
Absolutely spot on with diluting this ,a perfect 5 👌
It's 5/5 for me. You did all the right things. I really loved the end result!!
This is also used in a lot of resin pours by woodworkers, and there are a lot of other metallic colors available from that company you might like to play with. This is a solid 4 for me.
Come to think of it, _this_ may be a better Galaxy effect on the black than the other, especially if it were to be mixed into a matte topcoat possibly (since stars shine but empty space doesn't)?
Oh it's a 10!! The color shifting is subtle. It looks incredible!!
I'd give this a strong 4. You guys were absolutely correct in adding more clear, it looks very nice.
5 ! (definitely !!) It fits perfectly the ZTU over the blue. It just adds that subtle sparkling as you were saying. Good job guys ! 👍👍
i love it came out exactly how y’all wanted it to
I like the snow globe effect in the paint booth
Beautiful. That is really a sharp looking car with the paint and sparkle on.
love how it turned out. amazed how that counter top powder worked with painting a car
Nice! The sparkle is subtle but effective. 4/5 ⭐️
This is JAW DROPPING
I like it and it came out better then I expected great job !
4 love it. Sparkling without being too much
Personally, I'm putting this in the mid-to-high 4 range. I could see this coating used on practically any color to add a bit of bling to a finish
I wish I knew how to do this. You create such beautiful effects and colors.
That looks amazing! I’d love to do something like that on my car! Love the color shift! 10/10 would definitely recommend!
That is really gorgeous!!
It looks so cool in the beaker
Starry starry night, twinkle car 👍Diamond dust, love it, good to see over a dark base, I have only used it over a slightly off white. Good video, Thank you.
#5 from me! So subtle and sparkly! Just right, IMHO.
It's funny watching all the sparkle floating around as you're getting started during the commentary.😁 I give it a 3 out of 5 Keep up the great content!
This came out absolutely perfect!! 🔥👌🏾 good judgment call!
Looks absolutely incredible, 5/5 for sure!
Love that shine 😍😍😍😍
4 out of 5. Sparkles aren't my thing but I think you nailed your vision. Great job and keep them roller shots coming!
This one is pretty awesome. And it's perfect on that blue! 😎🤘
Amazing result! It might be a good idea to wear a mask with the mystery pigments.
Yes redo the Galaxy project! Wow and this one looks tuff!!
Oh heck yeah, that is just right for my taste! Beautiful 5 outa 5!
Def correct choice on diluting it. This was very conservative. For my taste I would like to see a happy medium between the last two flakes. But great paint video. Thanks for sharing
The Galaxy pigment I totally agree, from the test stick in the Galaxy video the first bag that got tested and thought diluted was for me with my astrophotography perspective about half a bag too much
Awesome sparkle. I need some of that on my 04 corvette.
That is astonishing! Crome rims is the way to go!
Ive warched a few of youe videos now and i find them very interesting. You guys arent afraid to experiment. It would be really nice if you could talk more about paint techniques, like spray guns, air pressure, nozzle size.
I know nothing about painting cars, would never choose one of these colors. But amazing things! Really dig these videos! 🤙
good call on this one. turned out great! also, yes, i would love to see a revisit of the galaxy pearl
Ya good call! That is very nice.
For me thats perfection! Just subtle enough to get ur attention but not too much to be gaudy. Very clean I deff give it a 5
Real nice!
The pearl effect below it actually takes away some of the diamo magic.
Would be great on basic color
5 ! That's gorgeous 😍 💕 ❤️ It added !! Please try the Galaxy one more
Oh wow, this one is just... It's classy. 👌
A definite 5. Love the color.
Love it. Spray the other 2 gallons over Nardo 🔥
Biggggg fan of this combo. Definitely 5/5
This struck a cord with me because I bought a couple of your samples bags to try in my resin projects. Have gotten sidetracked and haven’t used it yet. Can’t wait to try them. 😊
It's a 4, I really like it. The diamond dust seems to lift the darker shade of the color shift and make it more natural without taking away the while effect.
This is a 5 for me! Love how clean it looks! Not too much!!!
I got to talk my company into selling this in our distribution warehouse. We carry HoK, Debeer, and Matrix flake and pearl powder, but this product you guys use is absolutely beautiful.
That's a 5 all day long!!! Love it
I would love to see you spray over Rust-Oleum color shifting paint. Maybe do a couple of different hyper shifts and keep one form just with the rustoleum and clear coat as a control
Diamond dust rocks, love it 4.5
You made the right call to dilute the topcoat. Just enough shine.
I rate this a 5. The combo turned out absolutely stunning and I don't think the flake was too much. Loved it!
I’ve never been one for metallic paint, but this looks good!
Solid 5!
I like it! Just the right mixture IMO. 5!
This one s my all time favorite! This blew me away! ❤❤❤❤ 10 out of 5.. 😂
I’d say 3.
Would really like to see more of the camo colors combined for variance like the flat dark earth project. That was sweet!
Blue is my favorite color I like it and the sparkle is awesome
5 absolutely splendid
Nice sparkle!
Yeah, that galaxy flake has real promise. Love to see you try it again.
