As a fan of green I'd totally rock this. Solid 4 from me...
for the look 5, for the price for the look 1
4.5
The great thing about this color is you could make it literally any color you want in post production since it's already greenscreened
I’d love to see someone have it play a movie while it’s driving lol
You could even animate it :D
Definitely not a fail! I love the subtle color shift and the overall appearance of it!! I give it a 4
I agree, this is one of those super subtle and classy “if you know you know” colors. Kind of baller to spend so much on a subtle effect!
4/10?
@@kevinba7981 no 4 outta 5
My thoughts exactly Wade. Old timer here with some experience blending custom colors.
It looks great but wouldn't pay $1200 for it =/
The blue tinge gives a hint of evil which suits the car’s shape and blacked out trim. Apart from the cost this turned out surprisingly well. What a great series. 👍
I'd call it Martian Green ♥️🤗👽💚👽🤗♥️Not bad at all....I agree. It worked. I gave a 3.5...But I could've went higher on the rating. Agree..♥️🤗👽💚👽🤗♥️
I think it looks much better than normal color shifts. That subtle blue hue makes it more appealing to me for sure. 5 from me. 👍
***IDEA*** Maybe you should keep a sample of the original dip gallon, before you add the shift pearls, to paint a sample shell to compare the difference with the final product. So in this case, if you had a test shell sprayed in only electric lime green, to compare with the car after, then we could really see the difference. The result was not that bad btw, it did shift quite well.
That's a great idea.
Awesome idea. I think that since they also used 2 gallons, they could have made the 2nd one differently and seen which worked better
Beautiful . Definitely a 4
No one would ever expect this color to change, but you guys made it happen. Congratulations
Definitely a super subtle shift. Kinda makes you take a double take. Love what y’all do. I’d give it a 4 for sure.
I like the neon green, and the subtle highlight from the pearl is pretty. It makes logical sense that you would get more colour shift from the pearl if it were in a clear coat over a green base though. So, it seems to me, that the question is whether there’s a market for a subtle effect like this at the cost or would require.
A lot of very creative hobbyists out there might not be able to afford to experiment with the color/pearl combos they've dreamed up, and the fact that you guys do so many experimental combos and techniques on here, showing not only the successes, but more importantly the FAILURES gives everyone a chance to see what would happen without risking everything they saved for buying dip on a potential flop, is just amazing. And the fact that you take a lot of suggestions from your audience when it comes to what projects to try makes it that much better. Being able to see the result versus being told, "Trust me, that won't work" is a huge value to the curious mind. It doesn't matter if the person telling you it's a bad idea is an expert in their field, as that doesn't always satiate the curiosity. Thank you so much for doing what you do! There's 2 big reasons I see why your company has been so successful. You aren't scared to play, and you care about the people who support you. I always look forward to your videos!
I think this is 100% a W. That very minimal color shift is SO DOPE. Should have done a red on the green to match the calipers, or dip the calipers a cyan.
So sick!
I agree with this. The subtleness of it is actually more eye catching than the full blatant colour shift. This subtle makes you do a double take a lot more than the other.
Cyan calipers for the win.
I agree Randy!!! The colorshift isnt overpowering the green too much but you can still tell its there!!!
I appreciate the effort and risk taken in this one. You even had probably the biggest spill I’ve seen here pouring it. It looks cool definitely unique! Fun stuff I can’t wait to see what’s next
Definitely like the color. Not sure if it color shifted but I would love it on my own car
I was on the phone when it spilled and I interrupted myself with, "oh crap! WTH?!" 😂 I never did explain why I said what I said, and continued on with my conversation.
@@trishgage9288 😂😂
I love the subtle look of this one. The color alone makes a bold statement so no real reason to go over the top with a crazy color shift.
I actually like the end result. It adds a nice subtle shift effect but I agree it's probably not the best way to achieve that effect with lime, considering the cost. I'm looking forward to seeing more in this series. 3.5/5
I wouldn’t call it a fail, but I think you’d have had better results with going 1to1 Color/Clear mix with the pearls to dilute the color some. I could be completely wrong, but just a thought. Also, I agree with a few others, a gold/yellow flake or pearl might work better with this green
What about green base then mid clear with pearls?
Basically asking if hyper shift works on a topcoat (mid clear coat) over the green base coat.
@@JYNXZI_SZNI think he was trying to see if it worked doing the pearl/shift in the base coat would work. It obviously works in a clear as that’s how it’s mainly designed to work. The solids coat the pearl/flakes and negates the effect. But a more transparent base, it would work better
Love the subtlety.
Don’t give up !!!! Y’all got this !!! Keep it up the experiments
I love the color. Color is a 5. Price point is a 1. 😉
This is really pleasingly subtle,😃 which makes it cooler than most to me.
Its very much still a stand out, it is very clean. I love it !
As just a color, 4-5. In terms of execution for the original goal, yeah maybe a 2. Keep experimenting though, that’s why so many love your channel.
Well said! Totally agree.
I think a shiftable color you could try would be ZBO/ZBR and Black Cherry or Wicked Wine. I am feeling those colors together could make for something very subtle but perfectly suited.
I want to see black car with red shift.
@@Treneiro I think they have done a black to red or red to black shift
My thoughts exactly....ZBO in Wicked Wine !!!
I love the subtleties of it.
the crown highlights are perfect. makes you want to move around and see the flat sides and wonder!
At least a 3. I appreciate the fact that you are doing the experiments and showing the results without trying gloss over the fails. The honesty is awesome. Love the channel.
When using these colors my sister accidentily made a color shift. Now, keep in mind that we did this with dice and not on a car, and also that the following is what is true for us so far and possibly not how it works in reality, but what we found out is the color you see from straight on needs to be the bottom layer, and very much opaque. the color you want to shift at other angles needs to be transparent, and over the main opaque layer. So to make your own color shift is doable, but takes a lot of practice and knowledge of layers. (and knowledge of how the pigments work.)
I rate the attempt at a 2 simply for the cost, BTW, but I would love to see another attempt possibly using the theory above.
Also, I know you guys have said that if we found interesting uses for these color pigments to shout out to you. So far: Fishing Lure making, Resin work (Dice), 28mm and 32mm scale models for tabletop wargaming.
One of my favorites so far. I love the subtle blue shift 😍
Fabulous!, with that green I wouldn't want more than a subtle blue, I love it! 5
I really like the color -- you can definitely tell it cured and dried as a very very dense coat, it adds a nice depth to it. Does increasing the density by adding powder have any impact on the ease to peel it off?
Why would you peel it off?
As you said it could be done with a fraction of the cost but for me the minimal color shifting is perfect since i hate over shifting . Ill rate it 4
This color effing wins dude! That slight blue is just enough. It's a accent and not a feature. I love it
Love it. ❤ For me a definite 5, love the bright green colour and subtle blue shift, definitely not a failure 💚💙💚💙💚💙
When it comes to adding shift to the color, I feel like you'd need to thin out the color and then add the pearl. I also agree with you guys that a darker color would be better. (taking a quick look at your site) For blues I would do something like Dude Blue or Supermarine Blue, maybe even Blurple. For greens I would do something like Army, Hunter, or Jasper green. Reds (which I know you're not the biggest fan of but I am) I would love to see Wicked Wine, then maybe something like Cinnamon red. For others, you could try stuff like the Chocolate Ore, Camo Brown, or Motor Oil. I don't really know the pearls as well though, so that would be in your wheel house or maybe another viewer's.
I like the direction you guys are going and I would rate this a 5. Never in a million years would I consider driving a lime green vehicle, but those subtle blue effects hit different. As a viewer I think the direction you guys are going has value and what would be really awesome is if you showed us how to get this effect in a more cost-effective manner, you guys have the skill and the knowledge and it's great that you take the time to share the good and the bad. Thanks for all you do!
Very impressed with this. Not everything has to pop and hit you in the face, the subtlety works with this glorious green. 4.5/5
I love glowy neon green, it's beautiful to me! I dig the pale blue shift too. 10/10
I have to agree with you guys on this one, but I'll give it a 3 anyway for the color and a 2 for the shift. Happy Holidays Guys!!
i actually think it achieved some of what you were going for! just for a much higher price. 4 for fearless experimentation ;) 1 on the price though... lol.
as far as a darker base goes, Wicked Wine is one i'd love to see worked with in the series!
3.9/5 STILL VERY PRETTY AND LOVE THE HINT OF SHIFTIFYING HUES IN BLUES....
Definitely super sick! 🔥🙌🏾 5 BRO!!!!!
I definitely think this series/concept would be a good candidate for the multiple colors on some speed shapes. Do small batches so you’re not taking such a loss if it doesn’t pan out. Just an idea I love everything y’all do 🤘🏼
I like the subtle color change. Actually I prefer a less than "in your face" color shift. I would give it a "4" ranking, less than "5" because personally I'm not a fan of lime green and the excessive cost. Keep experimenting!
I like the subtle highlights on a color that’s so in your face
I love it. I think it looks incredible. 5 out of 5. It's got just the right subtle shift to really surprise you when you walk by it.
Yoooooo🔥🔥🔥. This ain't no fail!!!! That looks so good bro!!
Definitely not a fail. The change is a little subtle, some of the ability to see it might also just be lost in recording and playing on my screen settings, but it still looks very cool to me. And what's not to like with this base color -- it's awesome! Over all an easy 4.
I love the concept.
5, I love this! Dwfinately my favorite, It's so nice to finally have a vibrant green without purple or magenta ... the blue is beautifully subtle and alieny or techy toxic. Awesomeness
Great Color, great Job !
I love the color !!! I think it turned out great !!!
A good safe colour, you cant miss seeing this approach in traffic, not my choice but I bet there are folks out there that love it.
I really love the subtle shift. I think it is a very fun way to do give a color a tiny bit more personality and pop. 4 all the way.
Looks great. Solid 4
I kinda like it! Subtle yet bright.
One of my fav parts of your videos is watching the mixing with the dispersion blade. It gives a very mesmerizing first look at the potential of the color. SO Pretty! When you went to pour, I see why we didn't get the normal blending view.
I give this a 5 regardless of whether the experiment worked as expected or not. You DID get a bit of shift where the highlights are, and acid green is one of my favorite colors. Had I the correct vehicle to support this color, it would be this color all day long. Alas, Subaru Forester.
The subtlety of the blue shift is very pleasing
definitely not a fail looking awesome ❤
I genuinly love this color! Ir gives the neon green a spark that doesn't make the overall car look cheesy! I would love this color on my G wagon!
4.. I love the subtle blue.. just want a Lil more of it.. great job.. you sharing info is a solid 5,000 out of 1 to 5 bro. Thanks and keep sharing.
4 love the soft blue high lights
I really like the subtle shift ❤
I love the subtle blue shifts in it
That's not a fail. I love it! Lime with blue pearl 😍
5 for sure!! First off my favorite color. Second you totally achieved what you set out to do!
You should never doubt any paint job you do no matter what the outcome is there's always going to be someone that's going to like it and believe it or not it actually looks really good I love that little bit of hypershift such that it has 💙💜💚
Reminds me of a neon mopar color. Not terrible other than the cost. The shift is there just not very dramatic. I could see this on a charger!
This is my favourite colour and I would die to have my jeep painted like this! Nice job
I have seen the idea work and when it does it is awesome!!Try a red pearl in a black base.
😍 I am in love with this one. Just wish there was a tad more yellow to it
I'm nearly a year late to the party on this one but I fail to see the fail. The hint of blue is gorgeous. Other than you stated you could achieve the same result with other choices for less money, I see this as a win both in lessons learned and a beautiful turnout. 💚
Oh I love this one!!! Lime/neon green are my faorite colors, add in the aqua looking highlights and its perfect to me, definitely a 5+!!!
That's a solid 4, that's works really really well, not too much, but just enough
If I had kept my sublime challenger I would love this sprayed on, I like the subtle blues showing in certain body lines
i love it the blue highlights look amazing
🤩🤩🤩 Amazing color.
I gotta say the more I see it the more it kinda grows on me. Definitely not a fail. I guess I would give this a 4 to 4.25.
Pro-tip .... the little spout on the mixing container is used so ya' don't spill as much transferring the mix to the sprayer. Kidding (sort of). This is a good place to start for this "colorshiftifier series".
Also a little $$ for me, but really glad you are doing this series - us a target on whether to save more $ to get this look.
It's such a subtle shift. Looks really good imo.
have to say is this one of the nicer colorways ive seen you guys do
The good part is, the green color is fabulous! The other good thing is, you all had the guts to try. Keep going.
I love it. You nailed it. Definitely a strong 5
That was not a fail I'm digging it!!!
This is 100 percent better than a true color shift. This doesnt quite look like paint or dip. kinda a whole new look that Im loving
Perfect subtle blue
That radioactive green at the start is so pretty it makes me want to cry 😅 I'm looking forward to the hypershift addition and paint job ending
I actually love the look of this! Lime-green and black happens to be my favorite color combination. That being said, is it possible to get a hyper shift of those two colors? I would love to see that!
Came out smooth
I have to say this is in my top 5 favorite! The lime green has always been my favorite color but with the little hint of pearl to it absolutely set it off!!! 🔥🔥🔥
From a price point yeah it’s a bomb. From the way it came out. It’s different and cool as hell. The subtle blue makes you take that second look and say to yourself “wait a sec…is that blue I’m catching?” I dig it. Solid 4!!
4 I think is very pretty, my hubby would love this colour 😊❤
I really like this, it's a really subtle effect over a blow your socks off colour
I love it looks so cool!
Id rate that as a 4 I've been watching since ironically enough, the world's most vibrant purple video and I have to say Fonzie I love your work and effort and you shouldn't stress yourself out too much I understand where your thought process is however it still turned out to be 100% as you said.
That is absolutely gorgeous
Sweet. I would rock that color.
I think it looks awesome!!!
I give it a 10 the green alone is awesome and with that little bit of color shift looks awesome
It's a 4. The slight mint or money green look in movement is nice.
This is actually one of my very favorite jobs you've done. I think the ghostly blue on alien geeen is a vibe!
That color looks awesome
5 that subtle shift I amazing. You get that base color and then you double take and having no idea what caught your eye then the shift hits you and you fall in love with it.
