I got google search banned from my school for a really dumb reason...and also got myself banned from the computers, but that time it wasn't an accident :'D I was a weird kid

Honestly during my 8th year of middle school, I was the leading student in terms of finding and testing 3rd party websites that could get around the schools safe search. I found over 100 separate sites that took CZcams videos and put them on a separate site, accessible by school iPads. I'm sage to say I left a definite mark on that school. Glad I left though, the school became very cringe in the way they dealt with kids. Oh my goodness, ptsd. I even wrote a disstrack on the school. Fire poem.

I actually have a similar story to this. When I was in fifth grade these kids were looking up “funny pictures of black people.” For any non american readers here, the United States has a very very dark history with racism and this was a huge no for my teacher. I wasn’t in that group of idiots but later that week the school principal came in and gave the boys, the girls got to continue recess, a powerful lecture about racism and in her words, “character harassment.” So for the rest of the year we weren’t allowed to use google.

This reminds me of my school. The sensor thing is so bad that the teachers can rarely get into their own lessons. Kahoot is randomly banned on some of the computers. On others, random sites are banned. Bad stuff still gets through. And we didn't get an assignment, we were told to 'practice' blind typing.
Within 4 minutes, we were all gasping at Murat's screen, on which a woman was intercoursing with a dog on the streets in a far away country. I don't know, I learned a lot of scary things in those hours, nothing about computers though.

Why would a school ever ban Google? That's so stupid. That's like saying "A pedo used candy to entice kids, so we need to ban candy." Sure some f***ed up people do that, but that's not even a fraction of a percent of candy sales. So you'd be enacting a ban of something completely innocent because you saw a single isolated example of it being used for an unsavoury purpose. The logic is so bafflingly stupid I'm surprised this ever gets suggested. Yes, I concede that Safe-Search is extremely ineffective and yes. That's down to Google being lazy.
Wanna know how Safe-Search on Google works for the most part? The owner of a website and domain has to tell Google if their site is NSFW or not. That's it. They're not even under any obligation to be honest about it. And of course domain owners don't want their sites to be hidden by Safe-Search so the overwhelming majority just say that it's SFW. At that point everything on the site it marked in the system as Safe-Search Friendly and will show up in Google Searches even with Safe-Search on Strict.

screen recorders are banned in the 4th grade ict room (where i go for ict) and every other one from the 1st - 5th grade ict room because of “privacy”. if you want a screen recorder on a school laptop then you have to install some old archive of hypercam from 1997 or 1998 or bring a usb from home with bandicam on it.
