I always knew something was up with the fatty
Thank you.
Crazy stuff
I know you probably have a lot to work out right now, but I hope you can put out a video soon to at least let us know if Screen Junkies et al will be continuing, or if it will be scrapped and something new put in place. Thank you.
Screen Junkies Do a Honest Trailer on Andy tear him down
First time I watched Blade Runner: I was 5-6, and had just seen Star Wars for the first time through the re-releases. My dad said, "this is one of my favorite movies, you like Han Solo right?" Puts in Blade Runner where I had no idea what the hell was going on and ended up falling asleep.
I like the movie now and appreciate him wanting to share something with me, but Blade Runner is not for 5 year olds dad.
Similar thing happened to me, except I made it to they eye gouging scene, which freaked the hell out of me. Although, today it is one of my favorite movies...
I was a baby back then. Leon killing the Blade Runner during the Voight Kampff freaked me out haha.
Similar story. Mum bought me the VHS for my birthday when I was young because it had Harrison Ford. It bored the hell out of me. I actually couldn't understand why they would make a film with almost no story full of long scenes where nothing happened. She thought the same thing.
Appreciate it more these days, but still not a huge fan.
Not even for 10 years old lol
5-6? I think I was a little taller than that when I first saw BR…. lol
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. Time to die.
🕊
Long live Rutger Hauer!!!!
I don't know if it was intentional, but i think that should've changed blade runner's morale... I mean Deckard thought time to die for him, when it is for Replicant to show him that they are not mindless tools, have feelings, and know their odds
Didn't he state that all he did to that monologue was "put a knife through it" (or something else to mean that he shortened it)?
Ti Bot, i think he wrote a much longer monologue that was edited.
@@tibot4228 yes the original was much long but hauer shortened it and added the last few words
@jamesk479 the ending literally means nothing if you dont watch the rest of the film
I love how much Harrison Ford hates being a famous actor lol
Hates Han Solo, insisted Disney killed him off, even though his career is built on the role. What an ass.
yeah i bet he totally hates the money he made too
@@yohnnyjames Or, or, he just likes his privacy and being treated like a human being. Give the guy a break
eh, all carpenters are grumpy when not in their woodshops.
Then he should go be a plumber. He can come clean my toilet.
“Starring: Los Angeles 2 years from now.” You guys really did nail it!
They need to hook us up with some Powerball numbers with that level of accuracy.
Blade Runner was only a couple months off. It's 2020 when LA becomes a dystopian nightmare.
For a period of time in September it literally was Blade Runner, orange skies and all
Also I KNEW I wasn't the only one who thought Roy looks like Billy Idol!
Los Angeles its already like that.
Bring in Wesley Snipes and ya got Blade: Runner.
Now I'm trying to actually picture that combination. And it's awesome and terrible. Great comment +EpicVoiceGuy !
Would you say "Lana! Lanaa!! LAANAAA!!! .. Dangerzone."
for us Archer fans pretty please!
EpicVoiceGuy .The villain could be Tom Cruise... Then it'd be a real Blade: Runner
Who is the Runner? Could it be Arnie?
Get the fuck outta here
“That’s not how consent works!” I wonder if Andy wrote that line
Do Androids Dream of Multiple Re-cuts?
Perhaps they count them to sleep.
Electric sheep shearing eclecticly?...
I slept and dreamt, I dreamt of sheep. Electric sheep that think and creep.
I peep and wink, although these sheep; electric creeps, do sneak and beak their way,
My mind is neat and cotton clean, and free from sheep for clearance....
Long live Philip k. Dick🏆
Lol. Nice.
Yes, they do HAL.
You should have at least mentioned something about the score by Vangelis
Vangelis is underrated. He did the original Cosmos too. And 1492.
yeah, it's definitely one of the best and most important scores in cinema history
time for a editor's cut of this!! lol
Yeah, the score probably is what saved this movie.
Pavel Komarov ... Ahhhh yes. The opening few bars of COSMOS running through my brain now. Hauntingly beautiful.
Wish you guys would have at least pointed out the masterpiece that was the soundtrack for this movie. Vangelis' scores really added depth to the whole cyberpunk atmosphere. One of my favorite movie soundtracks next to Star Wars
You had me until you said "Star Wars". Blade Runner's soundtrack had some nuance and subtlety to it. Star Wars, soundtrack or not, has all the subtlety of a prostate exam.
i love the soundtrack. put a few of the songs on my bedtime playlist and it makes me feel at peace
It's not nuanced but it has a similarly significant influence on the tone and overall impact of the films. Take the score out of either and they suffer more than most - because the scores are both so intertwined with their films
StickInTheMuds the term cyberpunk didn't even exist when this film came out. This was supposed to be a dystopian future. A pretty dystopian future!!! Did I mention I'm James Park s ex girlfriend. It's quite an accomplishment. Can I put it on my resume???? Peace!
you might want to see this : czcams.com/video/4T_sSSka9pA/video.html
- A brilliant analysis of the soundtrack ; for example Nerdwriter points-out that some of the music occurs in the scene and then becomes 'soundtrack' music as the scene progresses ; it is genius - but some of the reasons-why are not so obvious until explained.
"That's not how consent works!"
Oh, the irony....
Vincent Knight how is it ironic?
Ryan Walters andy signore sexually harassed girls
The Musiczk98 From my research he has been accused, and that's about it. So far, I haven't found any evidence that supports these accusations.
Lmao at this Ryan Walters guy defending Andy, its almost like it is Andy on a fake account
Ryan Walters there are tons of dms. It's serious enough for him to be temporarily fired while it's investigated. It was reported to Defy media HR in July.
I love the pacing, actually. BR has a unique dreamlike atmosphere, and the pacing is part of the reason for that.
Right?? Like forcing people to slow down and think for once isn't a bad thing lol
It's like you put words to my exact thoughts. Couldn't agree more.
You heathen!😆 Blade Runner is god. Specially the romantic bits. So is Prometheus and The counselor. That’s Scott being free. Scott free.
Love the colour pallet in this film.
DARK DARK AND MORE DARK!!!
The "Definitely Shoots First" line just KILLED me! 🤣
Were you staring down the barrel of Deckard's gun at the time?
Missed joke;
Watch him show us why he's the best Blade Runner around by,
Getting his ass kicked. (Deckard being punched in the throat by Zhora)
Shooting a fleeing unarmed suspect in the back. (Deckard shooting Zhora)
Getting his ass kicked. (Deckard getting beaten up by Leon)
Getting saved by someone with no combat experience (Rachael shoots Leon)
Getting his ass kicked. (Pris beating up Deckard)
Shooting another unarmed suspect in the back. (Deckard shoots Pris)
Getting his ass kicked again. (Roy breaks Deckard's fingers)
And being saved from falling to his death by the replicant he's been hunting this whole movie... Does the word "best" mean something different in the future?
wasn't deckard in retirement or something.
That's the thing it wasn't Silver Stalone movie where he single handedly killed an army. It was more realistic. A human that can feel pain vs robots.
@@ritwik0 or a replicant that thinks and believes it is human.
Well, maybe the others were just really bad?
This comment is so underrated. This is hilarious!
Rutger Hauer is severely underrated. I've always been awed that he wrote those lines.
"An upgrade as cruel and pointless as giving your fleshlight a family history." I'M DEAD
"Thats not how consent works" You're very right on that.
Andd as for why that's called a Blade Runner...... SHUT UP that sounds cooool!!......that almost killed me!
Literally the reason for the title. Taken from a book about post-apocalyptic doctors who smuggled medical supplies like scalpels.
blade runner is the person who run on the edge of a blade, its the thinnest thing which you could stand on, which mean the hardest thing to balance on, its a metaphor for situation when you have to choose side, but try not to do so, resulting at standing right in the middle and the space is super tide.
Battlecry Eden Now that sounds deep.
Battlecry Eden where the heck did you find that now??
I love that movie back then, so I read a lot about it.
Finally got around to seeing this after hearing about it for so many years. I must say, one of the best damn movies I have ever seen.
I recently watched blade runner, the ending monologue is awesome
Roy Batty succinctly nails what it means to be mortal. Epic!
The ending monologue wasn't in the script; Rutger Hauer made it up on the spot.
I watched it for the first time a little less than a year ago. Thought the first half was boring, though cool world building. Second half was excellent with Rutger Hauer stealing the scene.
@@R1SKbreaker exactly, thank you.
@@GinodiFonzo it was a monologue in the script. But it was changed (specifically the off world references ex: shoulders of Orion). The only thing that was really from Rutger was the tears in the rain phrase. Watch the dangerous days documentary.
1:37 Oh the irony, Andy. Sweet, delicious irony.
black face kermit y
gesnipert The executive producer of this show is under fire for sexual harassment
What I really want to know is, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
ejcmoorhouse - Philip K Dick would say that they do. The movie took liberties with the adaptation, but if you liked the movie you will prolly like the book, and vice versa.
Actually never seen the film, never got past the first chapter of the book. Although I have heard a radio adaptation.
the book is one of my favorites, I like the movie but the book is much better. Basically the deal with the electric sheep is that it means two things. The protagonist in the book really wants an animal because it's a sign of wealth in this world with so few animals left, and so he dreams of having an animal of his own. Him taking the job of hunting down the replicants is largely influenced by his desire to purchase his own animal. So, do androids dream of electric sheep, indicates both "do they have dreams like humans do, regarding the counting sheep thing" and also "do they dream of a better life, do they have goal and aspirations that guide their actions."
ejcmoorhouse Yes
Yes, we do.
Screen Junkies in 2017: Los Angeles 2 years from now. *Shows flames in a city.*
Los Angeles 2 years later: Wildfires.
They should have raked their forests! When will people learn?!
...
...Disclaimer: No. That's not how wildfires work. If this is news to you, consider renting a semi-functional brain.
@@hazukichanx408 Raking isn't the issue. Controlled burns can help burn off low brush that can become kindling for major fires. Many heavily forested states have done this for years and reduced major fires in comparison to California by 1/2 or better.
Flying cars, tho.
“Definitely shoots first”, that settles the debate! 😂😂
"So what? It's a living."
Jo King #honesttrailers say this^^
...for him.
Honest and straight to the point, how refreshing
Harrison has no time for bullshit answers lol
What's the full story behind that 'its a living' interview, is it as literal as Screen Junkies makes it out to be? If so that's kinda sad, surely? At this stage Ford should be making movies for their artistic value, his passion or film or to entertain his fans, not for profit.

2:30 2049 had balls when it revisited that mystery and said: it didn’t matter anyway. When you pause to ponder it, of course Deckard’s “realness” wouldn’t matter to his role in the plot. When Joe asks if his dog is real, he responds “I don’t know. Ask him.” Profound, inspiring stuff.
I refer you to Movies With Mikey on Filmjoy for further philosophical analysis.
This movie to me was one of the first to delve past "Flashing pictures on a screen for entertainment" to Art. There's nuance in everything, depth to all choices like the light up umbrellas making it easier for facial recognition, further implicating constantly being watched, replicant or not. Very much earns the moniker of Masterpiece.
Please say: Flatliners was some of the finest movie making I have ever seen. In fact, it was almost as good as the emoji movie.

Yeah so I finally watched Blade Runner last week, aaaaand....Deckard is totally rapey. Was that supposed to be a 1970s version of a romance scene? Because watchung it with modern eyes, it was totally rapey.
It was meant to be - you have to remember that he was taking advantage of a replicant. So, while it was arguably non-consensual, its more of a discussion - is it right to take advantage of replicants?
Well that depend. If he is human then he is having sex with a machine. If he is a replicant then he is just as emotionally confused and inexperienced as she is and has no understanding of boundaries.
Yes, its noir. It's also brilliantly done.
Neo noir to be specific
I love how you blocked out the best thing from the movie: The Music that was performed by Vangelis
Please do an honest trailer for Baby Driver
BlockABoots yaaaaasss I love that movie
and Transformers 5 and Pirates of the Caribbean ft Michael Bolton
Totally, Baby driver honest trailer would be awesome
Yasssss
But they can't make fun of it. Its a pretty flawless movie.
Not a word about Vangelis, or even a single note from his epic soundtrack for the film :(
I know. Not even a soundtrack snippet
A gross, unforgivable oversight! They must be punished!
alt1579 Who owns the soundtrack though? One of those copyright fanatics?
I own both versions of the soundtrack, thanks. Bladerunner Blues is seriously one of the best things ever. EVER.
Say what you will, this is still one of the greatest films ever made.
"What you will". Wait... I don't understand the question?
It truly is one of the greatest films ever made, not just sci-fi either. All these young people who don't like it simply because of the slow pace have no appreciation for great cinema.
I watched the movie for the first time this year
Both of the blade runners were rather slow story wise, but what was main to me is the stunning visuals and ideas of the world in the future, which was probably the more important part of the movie
@@kumarsnehal1008 EXACTLY. The pacing is slow because it forces us to look at and think about this world. I'm not arguing that the movie doesn't have it's flaws, but the most common complaints often come from a lack of introspection.
It's a beautiful film with stunning/groundbreaking visuals, a valid criticism of modern society, and a storytelling style that allows for deep thought and self-analysis, something I rarely find in big-budget media.
It is my all time favorite movie (except possibly Blade Runner 2049). Nevertheless, this was a funny trailer that made me laugh. Satire and psrody are legitimate too.
I have the need to watch this movie at least once every two years or so. It has never got old.
Please say:“With an epic voice comes epic responsibility“
LRGamerPICOc +EpicVoiceGuy Yes please say this!
Just watched the Face/Off Honest Trailer and he says it there!
This movie is the perfect mix of artistic style and deep substance
3:33 Exactly my reaction lol... It gets boring AF but if you actually think about it, every scene does contain a deeper meaning than what it looks to a casual viewer, it is a masterpiece none the less
quite like BVS
@@Kta8548i yeah sure. "They'll kill Martha" 😭Did a 5 year old write that?

Its easier to make a funny/honest review about crappy movies. This film is actually a masterpiece. Not just "film noir with robots"
@jamesk479 the fact that you didn't like it doesn't make it an "objectively" bad movie. You are not an expert.
@@alicenestpasmonprenom5784 it fails to show the characters motives and establish emotional connections between the characters. The film fails too get inside the characters heads up until the end of the film!
Except no. You learn the motives of the replicants pretty quickly and deckards motives also. Did you actually watch the movie or did it just bounce off your forehead?
say. "Ive Got A Fever And The Only Prescription Is More Cowbell!"
P
I have a feeling that he's said that before, a long time ago.
Say, "All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."
yeah the pacing is kinda slow, but the story and visuals are so compelling who gives af?
I actually love his pacing, the director takes his time to build his world. if the pacing were faster it would lost an important part of the worldmaking
Pacing shouldn't mean fast or slow, or 'has action' or not, because a film can grip you without action. it should mean whether the succession of scenes builds the tension, character, plot or intrigue in a way that makes sense.
Somebody just wake me up when something happens.
The story is meh. The whole romance with the lady replicant and declared was forced and wasn’t compelling. And I don’t get why if a sci fi story asks a hypothetical question about the future it gets praised when really it doesn’t matter whether or not you bring up a topic like that, it’s more about how you explore it, and I feel like Blade Runner hardly explores any of the “questions” it’s asking or their implications.
Visually though, there are a couple of shots that I really enjoy but everything else was standard rainy foggy cyberpunk street or apartment. Watching this now is kinda boring because of all the cyberpunk tropes it has visually and story wise. Sure, it established these tropes, but it’s still redundant to watch. Even in the context of watching this before cyberpunk was a thing, I feel like it would get redundant too.
People just want avengers not plot just action style
RIP Rutger Hauer

"rain and cigs and hookers and stuff" lol
Oh my gosh! What an instantly mature setting! O_O
And this is what made Blade Runner such a classic. Not only cos it was so gritty but also because it portrayed a far more realistic view of the future than what we'd previously seen in Star Trek and all those other ridiculous space series up to that point (you know those ones with all the ultra-modern, aka 70s, clothes and decor 🤣); the technology mixed up with the old, the continued social problems etc. This is how we see good SciFi now

Yup! Friggin Mercerism, Mercer-something. Point is everyone's sad and nobody has empathy.
It's a beautiful movie. Easily one of my all-time favourites.
And that's all someone should care about. Everyone else's opinion is simply of secondary importance to your own when it comes to judging your own enjoyment of something. I personally love how much Ford is involved in air(or sudden ground appearance) related incidents. He is clearly too old to be flying, yet he somehow keeps on doing it. I wanna see his face when someone asks him if he's too old. I imagine something like the southpark old people driving episode.
I own all three version in the Special Boxed Briefcase Edition. Theatrical is the best one IMO; mainly because I liked the voice over! Gave it a real LA Noir book feel.
The scenery of the film just looks like modern day London with flying cars!
“Get back on his plane” 😂😂😂
“Get back on his plane!” Oh man, that was good.
Now do an honest trailer for Air Force Two. It may not exist _yet_ but I bet you could pull it off anyway.
They did one for Half-Life 3, so it wouldn't be the craziest thing.

"So what? It's a living."
And that's how good actors end up in bad movies.
cheezemonkeyeater True, but to be fair, guys like him and Robert De Niro can do whatever they want IMO
Eh, they've been in plenty of good movies.
Honestly, I haven't heard rumors about old good actors getting interesting roles, so I think they are only offered bad ones. Sometimes they are the only good thing in it, but I don't blame them for not even putting effort into it, as they are just there because of their name and rarely in leading roles.
And the experience from being in bad movies is how they become better actors.
+Kimi FW And from good actors... I got nothing I was just trying to keep up the chain
Dear Screen Junkies,
Please don't get rid of honest trailers. Regardless of the views that they get, they are loved by so many people, including me. They are the one thing that gets me through the week, along with so many other fans. When Paul Walker died, did they cancel Fast and Furious? No. They had an emotional tribute to him at the end of Furious 7. When Mel Gibson did not work at Mad Max: Fury Road, did they shutdown production? No. They replaced him with Tom Hardy, who plays the character much better (considering the film has a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes). When Hugh Jackman did not want to play The Wolverine anymore, did they stop making X-men movies? No. They killed him off in an very emotion way, as a heartfelt goodbye to the character. When Steve Jobs died, did they shutdown Apple? No. They honored him as much as they could then, and they still have now (iPhone 6s, Apple Watch, The Steve Jobs movie (2015). I'm not saying that Andy is like any of those people (what he did was extremely wrong and inexcusable. But if something works, like honest trailers, for example, then do not "throw the baby out with the bath water". Many people still love honest trailers, (I have been watching ever since I found out about Screen Junkies), and they mean so much to them. If not, then how is it that they get millions of views every time you release one? (That alone should show you how much these videos mean to people). I'm confident that you guys will continue to do an amazing job with these trailers, (if you end up continuing to do them), and that many more people will continue to follow you, in the future. You have some excellent writers with Honest Trailers (Dan Murrell, Spencer Gilbert, who by the way are extremely talented and funny), and tons of fans who love what you do. Do not let me tell you what to do, I am just 1 fan out of thousands, that love your shows. But please remember this: "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few." - Spock & Kirk, 'Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (1982). (Many is all of us and Screen Junkies, The Few is Andy Signoire, who, after what he has done, does not deserve to have a say, in whether Honest Trailers should continue.
Love,
Jedidiah Elias
Timmy Nguyen If they won't keep doing honest trailers, maybe we fans should make our own.
True! and I agree with you. Unfortunately, Andy IS the creator of honest trailers (he was always credited as such). He was fired from the company that produced the shows, but I believe he still has ownership of the title and concept. They are now probably deciding what to do, trying to get Andy to sell it to them, maybe. But I guess he doesn't want to, 'cause what else would he do? But he can't continue on his own with honest trailers because nobody would watch it after what happened. I wish he would sell so we could have honest trailers back without him. Like you said, we have Dan and Spencer, and we even have Roth for the news. They could totally continue without him.
Wait, Tom Hardy was a better Mad Max? Ok, whatever you say...
He got fired watt why??
