    Good detailed video !! Just did both my rear window regulators on a 2002 Sebring Convertible .. On the 2002 , removing the rear seat is not needed. It is a reasonably easy job and worth doing yourself ...

    Nice job. People always think working on convertibles requires some sort of voodoo magic knowledge, but they are just like any other car. Dismantle, fix things, reassemble.

    this is very well done. I am a bit daunted at the prospect of pulling so much of the interior apart to get this done but I think I will try it.

    Thanks for your valuable time and video. I was able to complete the installation. My old dead regulator panel was stuck in the down position. Inorder to remove glass window ihad to use a hack saw and cut off bolts. I installed new panel regulator and old glass window and all works great. Without your video I would have been completely Lost. So two thumbs up. 🤸. 👍.

    Great job on you video, made replacing a lot easier. You did a great job of explaining each step. Thanks.

    I painfully installed the RR window regulator on a 2004 Sebring convertible with PN 5066040AB.
    Tips:
    1) Buy a refurbished part with motor and warranty. If the cable drum becomes uncoiled in shipment it is difficult to rewind and reload the cable. Retail price of a new part from Chrysler is $287. I eventually ordered two and the Chrysler parts looked like they endured WWII and in both cases the cable unwound from the drum during shipment. I am fearful of Chinese made parts. Refurbished with motor and warranty makes for an inexpensive, quick repair with some insurance during the warranty period.
    2) If and when the cable becomes unwound from the cable drum there is a simple solution that is not documented anywhere else on the net to my knowledge. The problem is stretching the cable over the top stationary cable guide. Other solutions were 4 hands or vise gribs which could damage the wire cable. The best solution is to tie a thin but strong rope around the cable and hang the regulator. Tie a second rope as well. Push down on the regulator and pull the second rope to guide the now longer cable (due to springs) around the cable guide. Presto the cable is loaded!! Gravity rules!

    I know you posted this video some time ago. I just want to add that you can buy 100 ft by 4MM aircraft-grade wire rope from harbor freight and you can get aluminum ferrules from Home Depot to repair the cable. The wheel can be purchased from multiple places online for under $4. Of course, this depends on if the wire rope or motor is the problem, the motors are still insanely expensive.

    Good walk through my friend, about to go do this twice over. Once in the junk yard and once in the driveway with my car. You neglected to tell us how much the regulator is, ouch! $400 from a dealer, and regular parts stores don't carry it. Getting one from a local "u-pull-it" for $35. Thanks again, well done =o)

    great job, the cable can be replaced if that's the issue but it's not too easy. i've done them. just use your brain and do it. saves lots of money.

  • @BENNIEDARRELL
    @BENNIEDARRELL Před 5 lety

    i put the front window up, shut the front door and adjust the rear window to fit the front window the way it was before i took it apart and then test everything even with the top up before i finish putting it together. make sure all the windows automatically drop and inch or so before putting the top up too or they won't seal. the top closes and then you put the windows all the way up. a safety issue.

  • @robindudley4046

  • @4444colin

    I will order new glass. Upon close inspection the nuts to remove glass are only accessible if the glass is half way up the glides. I tried cutting tension pulley wire but to no avail. One the regulator motor is dead and glass is down then no way to move glass up and down glides. Juzt some fyi info.

    My glass window is all the way down on the old non working regulator panel. I have my new regulator panel (without glass window). I am ready to install new regulator panel but cannot see how to safely remove the original glass window from the old panel then attach to new panel and install on vehicle. Any help would be great. Thank you.

  • @andycloses
    @andycloses Před 9 lety

    Just because a power window doesn't go up and down doesn't mean it's 'obviously' a cable hang up. These window motors are among those that are notorious for going bad with time. That is why the windows in these cars (and in many cars) will almost always go up and down with less vigor as the the car ages, and why a window with a motor that's going bad should be left in an up position unless absolutely necessary. You don't want to get caught with your window partially or all the way down when the motor completely fails...unless you're ready to replace it (or have it replaced) in quick fashion when it finally goes.

      @scottsimons2813 Před 9 lety

      andycloses The rear window motors for the 1996-2006 Sebring Convertible NEVER (let me repeat that) NEVER are the problem. Master window switch, sometimes. It's generally the plastic sleeve (in the window regulator) that splits OR the plastic retainer breaks and the sleeve comes free. This video is very good. There are also photos at www.sebringwindowregulators.com
