    So true on your last statement. These are a cakewalk compared to the newer crap. Just picked up a 1998 Cirrus with the same engine in GREAT shape just a few weeks ago. Yes the 2.5 v6 is a bitch to work on (had prior experience on this platform) but they are great long lasting engines.

    YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS!!
    You can adjust the blend manually without taking the dash apart! On the passenger side pull the rug back on the lower side by the radio. You will see the blend door motor. Unscrew the two 8mm bolts you can see and can get too. The third is back further, forget about that one. Pry the motor down until the metal gear comes free from the plastic linkage for the blend door. Now the blend door can be easily moved by hand. Leave the motor unhooked (not working anyway) so you can manually adjust the temper for the season.

    To disconnect the second O2 sensor, do you have to take apart the center console or can you do it from underneath the car?

    • @syyenergy7
      @syyenergy7  Před rokem

      The Second O2 sensor wiring you get at from inside the car, under the front console. The sensor itself is mounted on the exhaust under the car.

    Thanks for the vid. Do you know why my 2000' JXI 2.5L has no heat? Also the very right dial on the HVAC controls is very hard to turn, cant get it to go below the middle. Its for the air circulation mode.

    I took my car in for oil change at Monro and had them fix that brake light switch and I got to give them kudos for not fucking me. It just needed some adjusting and they hit me for $20 which is kind of high for probably something that only took a few seconds but I got to give them credit for not saying that my switch was bad and needed replaced. That would have cost me probably over $100. If there's any Monro locations near you I'd recommend them for at least a oil change. You can print coupons for oil changes for like $19.99 plus they give you new wiper blades and tire rotation. I don't know how they make any money at that price. If you bought the oil yourself at Walmart a 5 quart jug is over $15 plug a filter you're at $20 right there. Maybe they get a special deal on the oil for buying in large quantities. My suspicion is that they probably break even on the oil changes as a way to get you in there to put new brakes, shocks and shit but I use them for the oil change and I always have them check out my car for bad ball joints and shit. Never have them do it. They'll charge you over $300 for each side. You can buy the ball joint for $20 or under and find a guy on craigslist who will put it on for $50

    Quick question about the Compass mini trip computer, mine is working intermittent. It comes on after about 20 minutes and then it fully works. Before that, I just have a blank screen. Anyone got an idea? It’s a 97 convertible Sebring btw

  • @c-shepard

    That's not the blend door moving at the end, it's the temperature control. Blend door is actuator controlled.

    WTF is up with these Sebrings?!!
    I own an '07 Sebring Touring, with no heat output (my husband is a Journeyman HD mechanic). And the instrument cluster section lights for the speedometer is OUT. He wired in a LED strip to the ignition so I can see.
    Did a rad flush as well... it's INSANE that these models, have these TWO fucking problems... GRRRR!
    Where are all the blend doors situated in these, also I've noticed lower air flow output on any blower setting (outer air intake vents clean/air filters/cabin).

    • @joyfulspirit22
      @joyfulspirit22 Před 7 lety +1

      I have a 2009 Sebring touring, Always some weird problem. I have 2 ac vents on the passenger side hot, the 2 on the drivers side Cold. You don't want to know the crap i've gone through with this car!

    • @vxCOCOxv
      @vxCOCOxv Před 7 lety

      Betty Springer That's what I'm saying! What's the deal... it's obviously an HVAC issue (price at a shop/long hours to do the work yourself), or to check the blend doors. I can't see how this wasn't a 'recall', as -38 (wind chill) in AB,CAN is what we deal with... I won't even risk taking my daughter on trips because of this car...

    Have you ever replaced the throttle position sensor? I was getting code po122. Does the computer have to be reset with a scanner? Mine is hard to start cold and stutters when warm. I'm still getting the code. Could the new sensor be bad?

    • @syyenergy7
      @syyenergy7  Před rokem

      You can also try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and see if the code comes back.
