    I tried saying bada-bing, but the interior door panel didn't just come apart. :D I did find another video where someone was able to do the fix without taking the interior panel all the way off, and it worked for me, too. :) But your video was very helpful and much appreciated on how you explained the process! :)

    Well, my replacement broke again about 3 weeks ago, was replaced again, and it broke yet again yesterday after just 3 weeks of being very careful and using it only to test that it worked after install and then maybe 5 times since then. :D The window lock doesn't work for some reason, so I'm going to tape over the window controls after this final replacement I was given under warranty. I really hope there are better quality parts than the ones I've been getting. I don't think anything else is causing the problem, and the spine on the motor looks good, though I guess I could look into possibly replacing it anyway in case it's somehow causing a problem. If you or anyone knows of any model replacement part that's holding up very well, please let me know! Thanks again. :)

    Update on 2007 Sebring convertible (it's not 2008 - correction). Dec 18
    My friend got car jump started and drove back home on Dec 14. In phone call I asked him to leave it unlocked. Dec 15th I came to assess car - it was locked! Telling him this he swore he left it unlocked (he is a part time local court judge so I believed him but his wife thinks otherwise LoL!) She said he has a tendency to be "forgetful" on things at times! I'm including this b'cuz sometimes the "operator" has to be included in troubleshooting - especially with a "hi-tech" piece of equipment such this car! (LMAO!)
    So...to validate theory of car "self locking" itself I ran engine enough to assure battery was well charged - testing all windows - shut it down and told him "don't touch it!" (Funny me telling a judge what to do LoL!).
    Dec 16th - I came to check car - it was still unlocked and it started up fine. At this point I decided that instead running around in circles like a chicken with it's head cut off...to start from square one and assess the battery condition (because it had been gone dead so many times.)
    I removed battery (yeah - hafta remove front wheel /inner panel / brackets etc to get stinking battery out on this car). It's a WalMart battery put in car Jan 15, 2019 - took to WM to have tested. Being near shop closing time they had me return next day.
    Dec17th - picked up battery - test report indicated battery had capacity of 478 cranking amps - down slightly from advertised rating of 525 amps. I expected this. Re-installed battery w/o connecting battery cables. Called it a day - now Dec 18th - plan to replace "TIPM" (battery power management/ fuse panel with one I bought off Ebay - used $100). Going to see if this cures battery going dead problem that seems to still exist (he insists replacing TIPM.)
    I'm beginning to think "operator error" is part of problem equation tho. Each time the battery goes dead the "smart window" system on these cars lose track of window position - need to be reset everytime battery goes dead. Next report in a few days....
    (I realize this a long comment but there are a lot of people having same problems with these cars - in forums /discussions etc - begging for answers.)
    So I'm spending my time doing this hoping this helps - *Sergey* ...I hope this info gets spread out to those interested.

    A friend has 2008 Sebring Convertible - driver side window keeps trying to "full close" window automatically - window slips down a little bit - motor pushes it back up. This drains the battery - sometimes enough to prevent starting car (dead battery). You ever have this issue? Did you see any limit switch for full closed window position?

    • @SergeyPip
      @SergeyPip  Před 3 lety

      I have had similar issues on other vehicles. It's usually caused by un-calibrated window motor. So window motor thinks window should go higher, and pushes higher but hit's the top and it thinks it's hitting an arm or something and for safety reasons drops down (if this is the same or similar issue you are having). I fixed these issues by reprogramming the window, and each car is different. But usually done by holding window down for 10 seconds, then window up for 10 seconds. That should reset and relearn the positions.

    • @raybin6873
      @raybin6873 Před 3 lety

      @@SergeyPip Thanks for responding! I tried what you described - no luck. I think window is creeping down unmaking door lock switch that in turn tells car to again raise it 1/2" (it's a convertible top car). This process probably was less prominent at first (not severely draining battery) but has become worse as time progressed to now killing battery. He has had this car in several shops - they haven't figured it out. I'm going to his house to disassemble door panel and inspect it. I think it's a combination of out of adjustment linkage rods and/or worn switch contacts. (I was maintenance engineer for large plastics molding plants for 25 + years - have witnessed similar situations on industrial equipment - some were very challenging in diagnosing.) If you want I can report back here what i find....chow!

      @@SergeyPip I'm back again! I can't figure out how you removed inner panel from door - door lock rod to top (hand door lock button) keeps me from further access to door latch mechanism on end of door. I see how you did it now (you skipped some of your work at 6:37 "butter bean butter boom" moment Lol!) - I know how to now tho! Glass fell down during my attempt - hafta redo it like you did. The video is VERY HELPFUL.
      BTW- found water inside of door bottom - could have corroded electrical parts (be cause of problems). Will definitely report back with progress - likely other people having same issue.
