Clicked it as soon as i saw spray foam. Made my day! As a 57 yo widow who can afford parts but not labor, ill watch repair how to videos, go stalk a mechanic i trust and pick his brain, then grab moral support and fix a lot of things myself. Did i mention that moral support also functions as muscle when needed? This way im not feeling quite so helpless if my car does something, and my son, who's getting his license soon, is also learning. Love your channel.
Whatever you both learn just remember these videos and dont repeat any of the monstrosities in them 😂😂

OR - Someone had previously stolen the muffler and that's why it was so loud that the clueless neighbors thought they were entitled to commit a little vandalism. Maybe the thief was also clueless and they thought they were stealing the catalytic converter. Now the clueless neighbors are on the hook either way, I love it!

If you say repair, you are suggesting that you made somthing work again, when previously it didn't. I don't think that's how that works
I've seen my share of those who "Just Rolled In" and it was a difficult thing to not be sarcastic. The only thing that saved my holidays, ( I was actually called on Christmas ) , was moving out of state for 2 years, and when I returned, I lived in an area that didn't allow me to continue my automotive repairs. I was an ASE certified master mechanic but due to my location, I went to work at my previous employer, until they went out of business. The company next door offered me an ability to use my talents, and I rose up quickly to become a Group Manager until my retirement. One important thing is that you will never forget the solutions you made to keep those "Just Rolling On"!

The spray foam companies should have a QR code on the can where people can submit their "fixes".
QR code should take you to a quiz that answers whether you are smart enough to use it for what it's made for.

There are seriously people out there that see a structurally important part of their car completely rusted through and they think some spray foam is going to get it fixed...
But it sealed the cracks in their brick work, so, surely spray foam is the perfect solution. Like lemon on fish or sauce on a meat pie.

My guess is that the neighbor filled the pipe with spray foam and the muffler was cut out by the owner or a friend so that it would be able to be driven to the shop.

Which is strange, because cleaning spray foam residue off of skin or anything for that matter is an absolute nightmare.
Duck tape comes on a roll and is much easier to work with.

I have used sprayfoam on cars before and it worked really well. Back when big sound systems were the thing I used to sprayfoam inside panels and boot lids to reduce road noise and keep the music inside the car. My dad once told me it's fine to use a little in the right place but the thing to note about expanding foam is that it will keep expanding and will happily warp a panel if you use too much.
Also it has to be in a place that never gets wet otherwise it can hold water and increase rust from the inside.
