I just started playing yesterday and I instinctively was already doing most of this! I just have to get better about keeping the island between me and other ships specifically the battleships.

Another tactic to learn is kiting, where you angle your stern, moving away from adversaries, while shifting rudder and altering speed. This makes you harder to hit while delivering a steady barrage.
Yeah, especially important when you either are outnumbered or need to distract them from something. Good tips!
Did this the other night in my St Louis...open water ahead, so I sailed away from a rather irate Ichizuchi...every time he fired, I turned away from the salvo...he never did hit me...

Digging the vids, it's hard to find videos dedicated to Legends. You got a new sub! What cruiser line would you recommend? I love the Danae but the British line stops at tier 3 lol. I mainly play destroyers, just unlocked my Benson.
Welcome aboard! I like both the cruiser lines, but I haven't played the tier 6 & 7 Japanese since the alpha test, so I'm a little rusty on those. They seem to do well in games I'm in. I like all the cruisers in the US line though, so I suppose I'd go with that for now. The UK cruiser line will be added too at some point

Any reason you stagger your shots instead of firing in one salvo?
At the time I recorded that I didn't remember you could fire all the guns. Now I fire them all 98% of the time

You can definitely carry games in cruisers. But in general it's best if you can be helping the other ships on your team with what they are trying to do

Please do a video with the Myoko if you can, I suck with it. I'm very good, and I mean VERY good with destroyers but I am terrible as a cruiser.

Lol - yeah just cause you got 30 guns on your ship doesn't mean you can kill the entire team by yourself. They'll figure it out sooner or later, hopefully.

Your torpedoes looked like they had quite a bit of range. I thought they were only good for 4-5km.
It depends on the ship. You can check the range under the ship stats page. Japanese torpedoes tend to have a longer range

How do you know whether you've been detected or not?
There is a gold colored ocon that pops up towards the center of the screen. It's shaped like a boat if you're spotted by a ship, and shaped like a plane if they are spotting you in air
