I believe that a lot of the problem is that people move up the tiers too quickly instead of learning to play the basics. I also believe that most of that is attributed to the more experienced players. All you see in various chats are players complaining about "potatoes" who don't understand the basics. These same players ridicule anyone playing below tiers 5-6 as "seal clubbing" if a player posts results from a lower tier. I had an awesome game in the Agincourt (a ship I love to play just because it's fun) 104K damage, Solo, Confederate, Kraken, Close Quarters x 2, Dreadnought and High Caliber. Posted it because it was probably my best game ever and got nothing but hate. I play the lower tiers to learn to be better, I only have a little over 2500 games played, I AM one of those "Seals" I was accused of clubbing.
Play the lower tiers, watch videos for tips, learn the basics and map awareness, ignore the "expert players" that complain when you make a mistake.
Have them play the same ship and match your results. Highly doubtful they will or can. Pudknockers. Ignore them.

Lower tiers are faster and more fun. As a DD player, it's a great place for DD fights as there's more of them around.

Great video! You definitely helped me with my DD game over the last few years.
What makes it super annoying is when switching to a CA or BB and watching the DD go sailing off ignoring the Caps.
The strangest lately, DD started on A and am on C and the DD sailed across the map to follow me.
Ended up getting us both sent back to port for smoking up, when neither could have been spotted (I wasn't) so he could shoot at a radar CA who had no clue of our location 8 km away. Tier 8.
Its like a Dog seeing a squirrel somedays.
I played the Gneisenau like a destroyer last night and went on an absolute tear. I had no destroyer on my side of the map so had to take matters into my own hands.

I've done 0 damage in a game but captured 3 caps and was no.1 in xp
Recall one game. I was in a DD, and spent most of the game stealthing into enemy territory while most of my team basically self-destructed. At endgame, it was just me left, versus 4 enemy ships - 3 BBs and one CA, all with pretty much full HP. The enemy ships were all huddled in one far corner of the map after hunting down the last of my teammates, and I was sitting in their Capture Zone.
I did (and took) zero Damage, but won the game, with a 'Solo Warrior' medal as icing on the cake. Good times. :)

I took a break for a year and a half and came back to see tier 8's a couple weeks ago. I just learned how to set secondary priorities. Talk about game changing. I don't have OP crews or the lame AL anime crews so the builds I see I can't get with mine. My win rate is average but I usually come in top 3 in games and looking to improve.
It feels like they nerfed XP output. I just don't remember the grind to get a tier 7 this bad.
I know you know this TBull, but because more teammates don't play to win I've literally got 6 kills and three captures only to lose because of my team. So keep making these vids, even through your annoyance, so more people can learn. My win percentage is not indicative of my play because I'm only 1 of 9....
Win percentage is 100% indicative of your play because the only consistent metric in your win rate is you.
@@workingbones how? Win it takes a whole team of 9 to win. I stand by my statement.
@@workingbones I can only do my part, so if the team loses I lose too. Even if I did the best on the team.
@@workingbones win percentage is exactly that, the number of your wins....which again, is the whole team.
@@workingbones doesn't take into account whether you play division or not, which makes a huge difference
What perfect timing. Can I just vent about a destroyer on my team tonight who did the whole I’m gonna circle around and torpedo them from behind when all I wanted him to do first was spot the destroyer between him and me that kept sending torpedoes at me and another guy. Do your job first, then if there’s time you can have your fun
That last cap was an insult, but I would've done the same thing
I do have my Kuma that is at 51% or 52% win rate, I'm happily satisfied with that and I'm proud of it. I'm trying to get better in the battles, one day I had 13 victories and 12 defeats, which was a good day, then a few days earlier I had a day with 16 defeats and 11 victories, which was a bad day, but I still felt good about the 11 victories. Thanks for the video Tbull, I'll probably see you in the battle with you or against you.

Another big tip I know Bull will agree with, spend more time looking at the minimap and less time watching the screen or zoomed in with target fixation.
I dont get the mentality of asking a friend: "hey you want to play the same battleship and sail in the same position all game with me?" great example of educated dd play vs uneducated dd play (z46).
How do you spot and let your team mates know where you are spotting? When you are detected is that spotting?

The biggest thing i say to new players, learn your battleships armour. As an example i see so many vladivostok's expose their sides and get ripped apart. Learn the armour and position your ship to give the most damage reduction while still able to use the majority of your weapons

Get good 😅, seriously though I was wondering why I was struggling with with CC and BB, and then it hit me, I had played less than 1,000 games with both, and yet most of other players had run those ships through at least 12,000 games... It was an experience gap.
These vids are great. My only concern is for newbies who don’t have all the fancy stuff . How’s bout a vid with a stand lower tier non premium ship battle.

You can be an excellent player but still have no chance of winning if half your team are utterly useless...
I use the reload booster with Fully packed with 2 Boosters on Hayate with a 4.9 concealment
You should know by now that cruisers and Battleships have to spot for the Destroyers .
I'm probably late to the party here but did you notice the Quick Fix skill now gives the same passive effect as Unstoppable? Maybe Unstoppable won't be the obligatory Legendary DD skill anymore
Would be nice if more tries to get win for team not just points to them self. Easy to get points if you are last alive but...
Make video how to move away if you ram team mates ship. Seems that many dont know how to do that.
ya the azuma kind of threw that match by not properly dodging those torps, but that could easily have been a lack of experience issue, or getting to tunnel visioned on killing you and losing awareness on what he should have been focusing on.

The truth is if your team mates are crap (often are) than you will loose
And no one is perfect and I'm sure I've thrown games making stupid decisions so thanks again.

I f there is one positive I can say about having 5 BBs per game since the epic mods, it’s that DDs can absolutely feast.
Got a 6 pack in my hayate yesterday and only landed one torp.

@@napiersliberty 3 caps, 2 defends, 200 hits, 10 fires. I filled up the score sheet. It was a fun one.
Last Night I had a game in my Shimikaze. It was a simple game. Kill the DD on other team and capture on domination. The entire time while my team had Left the bases they spawned to go to other side of map playing like potatoes. Ended game with 1 kill minimal damage and 4 solo caps. and won the game. with over 2500 base xp.
All this happened while the Montana that abandoned A cap to go all the way to C cap wanted me to go offensive while we were winning by more than 300 Points. With Cap Control.
I know I am not the best (about 50% win rate) but one thing that bugs me is when BB's enter the caps and get lit up by enemy fire, making it harder to get the cap. (especially when a friendly DD or Cruiser is in the cap).
The best caps for a BB to take are the Red enemy controlled caps.
This stops the red team from gaining points.
Thoughts?

In theory I completely agree with the concept that destroyers should cap and spot. It’s how you win the game!
However, very few players get it…. Your by yourself caping a base against the entire red team cause the bum rushed the base your trying to cap…. Meanwhile, your team all bum rushed a different base and left you high and dry.
Or…. Another example: Just two days ago, someone messaged me and called me an “a$$hol” cause I wasn’t sinking ships. He didn’t care about my logic that I was spotting and capping.
Urgh….
There's a reason they get mad. People want to farm those medals. They'd rather lose with 3- 4 medals and 3+ kills. A k/d ratio seems more appealing than a win rate.

Stupid game. DD beats BB 1v1 every time. Just stupid. No radar. No visual. Dispersion is twice as bad at close range. Just dumb
