  • I was pretty dissapointed with some of the features of the Model One. It's looks super sexy but looks only get ya so far.

    Love my unagi scooter, I don't always have to go top speed, just fast enough to avoid the weirdos in my town and get to work. 😌 And I appreciate my boss letting me charge it in his office.

      I havent had a car for about 3 1/2 years now. Driving unagis 10+ miles round trip to a full time job.
      This company is a god send. Enabling individuals who have lost a car, who cannot pull a 1k+ new vehicle out of their rear end on a moments notice the ability to keep working and surviving. I dont know what I would have did without them. I leave mine in the front guard shack at work, luckily by a charger as well.

    One thing I will say about their tire design is: If you happen to run over a screw/ nail, you can pull the thing out and keep riding, or ride with it till you reach your destination and then deal with it. From personal experience, I hit a nail on my rear tire and a screw on my front tire on two separate occasions, still ran fine after I remove the obstructions. The handlebar looks cool, but its hard to attach quality accessories to it. If you ride it on high-speed mode, you’re not gonna come close to its max distance, I think all these e-scooters max distance is calculated by its minimum settings.

    I have 4 of them. You’re spot on with your review. I’ll like to add that after 2-3 miles the bottom of my feet hurt from bump impact fatigue.
    I had to tighten the bars after 40-60 miles, the disassembly of the fork is tedious with many small screws.
    It’s not a ragged scooter, do not buy if you ride on harsh pavement or if you are over 180 lbs imo

    I have had this scooter for about two weeks and I think people have a misconception about who this scooter is for.... its not meant to be a road cruiser its a last-mile scooter... you use it for trips to the store or short trips to work or transit. It is really lightweight (I'm not strong lol but I carried it around my trader joes for 20 min with no issues)... and I love it, feels solid and not cheap like some others I've ridden the breaks and acceleration are great. I saw some things in the comments about membership? if you mean the loan... they have a loan for the scooter that's around 40 a month with good credit. I say for the warranty low maintenance and feel, its a buy for me but it's not a car replacement lol just a last-mile scooter.... it's like an iPhone ppl overpriced but hey it just works better. :D

    • @jacquelinekeeley7822
      @jacquelinekeeley7822 Před 3 lety +2

      Yes, they have a membership/subscription option - I'm doing that in NYC and it's $39/month. I agree that it's more of a last mile solution. I'm using it as my main means of transportation though. I just got it yesterday and rode 8 miles round trip Manhattan from Queens and it flew up the bridge no problem. Charged it at home and then took it back out for a few trips later in the day. I'm hoping it works out long term for me as I don't want to commit to paying $500-$750 for a scooter and I don't want to have to deal with maintenance. I figure if I love scootering around I'll invest in my own later on.

      I’m thinking I may have got a lemon. Range was way off, electronics messed up and power totally died 5 miles down the road.

    • @jacquelinekeeley7822
      @jacquelinekeeley7822 Před 3 lety +1

      Electrek Revolution you totally could have. I’ve been having a great experience so far, about 9-10 miles back and forth over big NYC bridges going fast, and even when the battery is out of bars completely it still goes 15mph to the very end. Last night I got 5.6 miles on just 2 battery bars going 10-12 mph the entire time. Could be with it if they send you a new one to try!

    Let’s agree this one unit has an electronic and possibly causing a battery issue as well but it’s worth pointing out this is dual motor versus the ones you compared it too, hence it can go up hill. Secondly, compare the weight of the UNAGI versus the ones you mentioned as the Unagi is only 26 lbs. I look forward to your review of the new updated 2023 model, Unagi Voyageur.

  • @jimmybuffet4970

    I refused to spend the $5/month for a color option (rental). But the red looks SO GOOD. The handles also need to be angled more toward the torso. But it sure is sweet. Dual mode is the way to do it.

      true and the esmax has more speed longer distance and can be gotten at a deal while it is heavier its also more stable doesnt look as nice but feels more solid and if gotten on a good deal can even get as low as 570 to around 550 from the deal i found

    Its not worth the price of $999 when you can buy a segway ninebot max for a priceof $899 with the same amount of motor power nearly and 3 times the range nearly. That scooter should be a $500 value max

  • @travisjohnson622
    @travisjohnson622 Před 3 měsíci +1

    Do they work?
    Ive driven the voyager model one about 12 miles round trip daily for about a year now, down cracked sidewalks. Never had a wheel related issue. Theyre practically indestructable. They dont even chip.

  • @jaysorta886
    @jaysorta886 Před 3 lety +3

    Why are scooters so troublesome? Every single scooter manufacturer has issues that are so the same thing you would think that they would learn from each other and do a better job. I think scooter prices are a cashgrab and are just abusive.

    • @MsKillaDJ
      @MsKillaDJ Před 3 lety +1

      i agree ....this scooter when first released overseas cost US equivalent of $220. A US company bought the rights to sell and redesign ..they slightly redesigned the scooter and upped the price to $900 ---- which is insane but hey I bought one lol I did get a coupon which dropped the price to 780 but still very inflated. love the scooter though had the 6142-mile issue he stated when it arrived but you reset it by pressing two buttons, don't know why that was included in the video without a resolution though.

    STOP…
    Do not purchase or rent an Unagi scooter.
    They have zero people to help after you’ve purchased a scooter it’s all AI. You won’t speak with a single real person to troubleshoot with you.
    The scooter was bought and used for 5 miles and it’s been shut down and we’re told to send it back to California which I have to pay for.
    5 miles of scooter use and it’s all over. I’m obviously not getting my money back so I’ll continue to make everyone aware of how bad there after care is and hope anyone in the market for a scooter looks elsewhere.
