      Michelle Pfeiffer was the first choice for Silence of the lambs. I like her but I don't think she would have worked as well as Foster did. Annette Bening had to drop out of Batman returns so pfeiffer ended up playing catwoman. Both of those changes seemed like improvements over the first choice.

You don't expect someone to just sit around and wait for calls, you go out there and show them you deserve those roles if you know you'd be perfect for them. "Smacking people in the head" could be her metaphor for being persistent, and that wasn't given to all her roles.

    Besides the obvious facts about her for being a beautiful woman and talented actress, I just love her voice and the way she speaks. She has such a confident, powerful, sincere and razor-sharp intelligent voice.

      She is not only a great actress and director but also very intelligent. She also speaks French at a native level, so much that she does the voice dubbing for her characters in French. It is amazing to read the comments of French people in French interviews saying that she does not have an accent in that language.

      Because there are hundreds of actors that think they are or just are suitable for roles and either the director or the studio have someone else in mind or they really aren’t suitable. Clooney’s Batman is a case of him being the obvious choice for everyone and failing miserably. Films are all about vision. The writers vision, the director’s vision, the actor’s vision, the studio’s financial vision. Sometimes they align, sometimes they don’t. An actor is only as good as his last job. Not even quality wise but style wise. Keanu Reeves doing Shakespeare speaks to that mismatch. So there really isn’t anything inherently wrong with her having to fight for her roles. Especially, if it’s roles she believes in. It actually adds to her performance.

    I love Jodie! Sad that she didn't talked about The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, shot immediately after Taxi Driver. Apparently, she said she didn't liked that movie very much. But it's such a great movie, the script is amazingly good, and her performance is astonishing. Worth seeing it! Also, I love that she dubs all her own performances in French.
