She is the credit
I agree. She did a great job in most of them. I even liked her in small soldiers.
Yessss
She was absolutely phenomenal in Fargo and Melancholia. Absolutely brilliant actress.
She is duhhhhhh
For someone who literally grew up acting in Hollywood, I’m actually surprised she’s still so humble and down-to-earth and not ruined like other child actors

It's true. I agree with that.
It’s gross but yes, it’s *iconic*.
Yes, it's so famous that a lot of people have tried it since lol. And everyone hated it btw.
I never realized until now that Kirsten has been part of several stages in my life. As a child, it was Jumanji and Small Soldiers. As a teen it was Bring it on, Maria Antoinette and Spiderman. As an adult, it was Interview with a Vampire, Melancholia and Power of the Dog.
I hadn't realized how impressive her resume is untill it was put down like this, so many iconic movies she was in
This was unexpectedly uplifting. She seems so chill compared to her notable screen presence. It's a nice contrast.
Thats actual artistic talent for you
Shes talented 👍

She's so Iconic. She is the essence of the late 90's early 2000's.
That’s funny bc I literally just wrote the same thing! Haha
Marie Antoinette has always been a weird kind of comfort/guilty pleasure film for me. I just absolutely love it. It's like a slice of cake. It wasn't created for substance but for the taste and the look. It was beautifully created, absolutely delicious and you just always want more.
Let the poor watch "Marie Antoinette"...
Kirsten Dunst and Christina Ricci were literally my childhood acting faves! They are both icons. 🔥🖤🙏🏽👌🏽👏🏽

She probably didn’t sleep with any of those producers and directors that allot of the Oscar winning actresses did. Like gwynethnpaltrow and Weinstein.
She killed it in Fargo. I was actually a bit surprised, that she managed to be one of my favourites of the show. But she did. Peggy Blomquist we won't forget :)

I was scrolling to find this, before writing it. I thought only I felt it was a huge miss
Her as Claudia is my favorite child performance of all time. Phenomenonal.
Loved what she said about Sofia Coppola essentially changing her life by letting her know that's she's a beautiful human being. Goes to show how much kindness and care can impact other people's lives, I think oftentimes without the other person knowing.
Why do you consider that kindness?
How did she make her feel pretty also, when she was already a child model and had the entire world calling her beautiful, being treated like a princess on a movie set with A-list co-stars??
She was “set for life” in that regard long before the next movie.
And to call a physically attractive person beautiful is not kindness..it’s just making an observation and feeding their ego to boot.
Telling an unattractive person the same thing would not be kindness either, it would be a condescending lie.
@@lukasribin4168 Kirsten Dunst doesn't fit the typical Hollywood/supermodel beauty standards. She has unique features and I interpreted what she said to mean that Sofia made her feel beautiful BECAUSE of her quirks as opposed to in spite of them. Also, not everyone who is considered 'beautiful' has a huge ego, and giving compliments (as long as they're genuine and not creepy) is, in general, a kindness. You could easily make someone's day with a compliment.
@@lukasribin4168lol wtf is this response? no one is "set for life" just because they act. she says in the video, she was at a tough age, in a tough industry. she also says sofia "made her feel beautiful." not just that she told her she was beautiful. big difference. that was hella negative for no reason. hope you're doing okay.
@@lukasribin4168 I think she made her feel beautiful in who she was, like she didn't have to do anything she just was beautiful, which is true and such a gift to be given at such a young age. I feel like it really shines through in Sofia's films, she shows women in a way where they are just quietly beautiful without having it be aggressively sexualised or overdone or anything.

Kirsten Dunst is one of my favorite actresses, like in top 10. She's definitely underrated. Marie Antoinette had a HUGE influence on me as a teenager and I see more and more of it today. I loved Melancholia as well, something about it drew me in. Her performances have just been so satisfying to see.
I can't believe that Kirsten was only 16 when making "Virgin Suicides", she seemed so much more mature to me. I'm glad that Sofia Coppola was so encouraging and reassuring to Kirsten on set while shooting the make out scenes, she's definitely one of my favourite directors.
She’s an actor you idiot.

She’s such a brilliant actor. So crazy to think she’s been in this industry for so long and still seems to love it. Also, she should’ve won an Emmy and Golden Globe for her role in Fargo.
Yes!
She lost to Sarah Paulson and Lady Gaga. She should have worked with Ryan Murphy.
She seems to be cleverly picky in who she works with which I think leads her to having better experiences. She’s never come across to me as someone who does a film just because the cheque will be big. It’ll be so cool once she gets that Oscar!
I still can’t believe she lost to Lady Gaga.
I adore Kirsten, and I think that she has great comedic timing. Her earlier roles in teen comedies (All I wanna do, Bring it on, Drop Dead Gorgeous) are PERFECT. And her part in Fargo was great. I love her in dramas too, but I hope she will do some more comedies in the future.
I wish they would release an extended version, would love to hear them talk about all the movies on the timeline, not just the highlights
I met Kirsten Dunst briefly on the set of the first Spider-man film - she was so kind and down to earth. She remains one of my favorites for her talent, authenticity, and beauty.
how lucky you are.. amazing memory to have.
I met her once serving her at H&M in Montreal, but I didn’t get the kind & down to earth bit….maybe she had an off day though. 🫤
she has SO many iconic movies it's crazy
Miss Dunst is fabulous. She has an abundance of that certain, indefinable "it" quality.
I recently watched her show "On becoming a God in central Florida" and what a gem that was. I am honestly sad that it got cancelled, but understand as it didn't seem to attract the viewership it deserved. I can recommend it to anybody who would want to enjoy Kirsten doing her thing. Absolutely amazing.
I enjoyed that show a lot too!
I still watch Marie Antoinette and still find it intriguing and oddly seductive. There's something unusual about it that makes it like no other film in memory. It has a strange magic. It's a great film and its stature has only grown over time. And Dunst was genuinely beautiful in it. That film is going to be around for a long time and will likely become a classic.
The 1938 version with a Oscar nominated performance by Norma Shearer is a great classic. Shearer perfectly and beautifully captured the title character with grandness, elegance and pathos.
My favorite!
I am so fascinated with her Marie character 😍 💕
That movie had a great soundtrack, too
@@soccermommyNPC Yes indeed, gorgeous stuff - both the contemporary and the Baroque pieces (particularly the bits of opera performances). Great synthesis of profoundly disparate periods and styles - which makes you ask: what do they share in common? I've a feeling Sofia Coppola gave a lot of thought to this.
What a beautiful gift Sofia gave Kirsten. How important it is to support and nurture a blossoming artist.
For real. My film classmates back then would force scandalous and uncomfortable scenes on our actors because "its to emulate the industry environment" like wtf.
And then there are people like Sofia who are ACTUALLY in the industry and being very considerate. 😂
Still absolutely stunning! She's so down to earth and humble.

What about Elizabethtown!?
I never really realized how pivotal she's been in my childhood watching movies. I love pretty much everything she's been and now I'm really also liking what her husband's been in. I really enjoy Melancholia, I laughed so hard whenever she was talking about the director, she definitely does have a point there. But I love that movie, the soundtrack, the cinematography, everything. I recommend that movie a lot, but it is quite dark, so most of the time my recommendation goes unheard. She's right though, it not only shows depression but the calm of the storm, or shall I say the calm of reality (their reality in the movie, can't spoil it.) I really enjoy the films she's been in, but that is one my favorites overall.
Phenomenal movie. Very heavy but worth the watch. It always intrigued me how it shows the POV of the pessimist, optimist, the realist, and the innocent.

I agree! That movie is amazing, and Kirsten's acting is the best in the film. Just like she upstaged Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in Interview with the Vampire, she does the same to Gainsbourg and Sutherland in Melancholia. And I like those other two a lot, especially Gainsbourg, so I am not throwing shade.

Sorry to break it to you but she’s definitely not grounded at all. Worked for a magazine back in 2013-2015 she was on set one day and after she was in the grocery store next door. One of the staff at the magazine saw her in produce and he looked at her and then she made security kick him out. Lol it was very telling.
@@michaelcurtis4627 there are three sides to every story. Do you really think this is enough to get people to think poorly of her? The MOST underrated actress in my opinion. She’s absolutely incredible.
@Miss Manawaka for the calibre of talent that she has, she is definitely underrated for not being as wildly celebrated as an icon. Certainly no one denies her much-celebrated success otherwise. In fact it is precisely because she has touched the precipice of "almost" being forever celebrated that a lot of us think she is underrated, for how much she has achieved and how she isn't at the same level as a Scarlet Johansson, for example, who has also grown up doing movies, like Kristen.

sucks there wasn't really anything about Small Soldiers. It was even listed in the intro, but skipped. Such an underrated film.
I had the vcr cassette burnt cuz I watched it like 2 times a week growing up 😅
