I remember when it came out and the phenomenon of its popularity. Film reviewers and columnists were all scratching their hands, trying to understand its immense popularity. And it wasn’t because of the hype that you get with all the superhero movies nowadays. People just loved it and went back again and again and again. It made people weep uncontrollably and they couldn’t get enough.
“Darling that’s all in the past. Now you’ll have a glass of champagne, and you begin the rest of your life.” Is so inspiring, something I needed to hear 💖
This is a side of Kathy I've never seen before. I've always thought she was a wonderful actress and has such amazing flexibility in her skills, playing such a wide range of roles. Such a humble lady that I would give anything to be able to just sit down and talk with her for hours and hear her stories. Much respect to her career and hope she continues for many more years.
A true role model and inspiration, Bates has something seldom seen in other actors. She's incredible! Her talent, devotion, and humility are all perfectly balanced to make such a wonderful person.
I understand that Ryan Murphy helped take Kathy's career to the next level, but the way he reacted to her forgetting to include him in her Emmy speech is a bit telling. If you watch, you can tell she's surprised and nervous. Jessica Lange has been a muse for Ryan for the past decade, and yet she's also mentioned they've had some falling outs along the way. I appreciate that he's helped revive the careers of some legendary actresses, but the way they feel so beholden to him feels strange to me.
see you space cowboy Perhaps I didn't choose the right word for it, but she was cast in the show, which was a huge hit, at a low point in her life, as she explains in the video, and it helped introduce her to a wider audience.
It was such a small role, but I would have loved to hear her talk about her time on The Office. Her career is so incredible. She's definitely one of my favorites.

@@andrewthezeppo I think Titanic is far more than a technical achievement. :) Popularity does not equal artistic value if you look closely.
Cameron made no money off Titanic. Fact.
Now you’ll have a glass of champagne, and you begin the rest of your life.”
Is so inspiring, something I needed to hear 💖
This is a side of Kathy I've never seen before. I've always thought she was a wonderful actress and has such amazing flexibility in her skills, playing such a wide range of roles. Such a humble lady that I would give anything to be able to just sit down and talk with her for hours and hear her stories. Much respect to her career and hope she continues for many more years.
She looks like a cool grandma. She looks really gorgeous here
I like her glasses. Nice colour and style
What’s your onlyfans babe?
@@wonderwoman7443 she's never really been a looker if you ask me 🤷
She's lost a lot of weight.
Her character was always my favorite in Titanic. I know everyone was about Jack and Rose, but hers always stuck with me.
I liked the bad fiancé.
Totally agree!! The “Unsinkable Molly Brown”. Tbh, she is usually my favorite character in anything I see her in. She pops on the screen
Molly Brown! Love her!
the unsinkable molly
Kyle Morgan Oh he was so hot
No mention of one of my all time favorite movies, “At Play in the Field of the Lord.” I highly recommend this movie!! Kathy is fabulous!!
A true role model and inspiration, Bates has something seldom seen in other actors. She's incredible! Her talent, devotion, and humility are all perfectly balanced to make such a wonderful person.
The more this woman talks, the more I love her.
I thought it was me. I started crying smh

Kathy Bates is an actor's actress. She's just fantastic in everything she does. Love her!
Ugh my Queen!!! Loved her for decades and she always surprises me with her talent and dedication to the character she plays
Who are the 28 idiots who disliked this masterpiece of a woman...
Brit Fofana preach on it!!!!
Ryan Murphy made 28 accounts
April Diaz wait Ryan Murphy doesn’t like her anymore?

I understand that Ryan Murphy helped take Kathy's career to the next level, but the way he reacted to her forgetting to include him in her Emmy speech is a bit telling. If you watch, you can tell she's surprised and nervous. Jessica Lange has been a muse for Ryan for the past decade, and yet she's also mentioned they've had some falling outs along the way. I appreciate that he's helped revive the careers of some legendary actresses, but the way they feel so beholden to him feels strange to me.
he didn't help them. they helped him.
i would agree he introduced kathy to a new audience, but "took her career to the next level" ... umm NO.
Yeah I agree, That's essentially what I meant 😘
see you space cowboy Perhaps I didn't choose the right word for it, but she was cast in the show, which was a huge hit, at a low point in her life, as she explains in the video, and it helped introduce her to a wider audience.
She won an Oscar before Ryan Murphy was anything.
It was such a small role, but I would have loved to hear her talk about her time on The Office. Her career is so incredible. She's definitely one of my favorites.
How does she age by becoming more and more beautiful? What a gorgeous soul…inside and out.

Misery was the best... Omg when she broke his legs... I still hear her telling the story of the diamond mines...
@@whitealliance9540 Absolutely, when she hobbled him with that sledgehammer 😬 still one of the most gruesome scenes in cinema.
Most definitely!
She seems to be such a good person, and she has that very kind professor of Literature vibe that always make you feel confident and comfortable with yourself, your knowledge and your achievements 😌
kathy bates as the butcher in ahs roanoke was legendary. also, how beautiful is she in this video.
i’m rewatching that season right now! she’s an amazing actor.
@@mayaluna3953 she really is.
She deserved so much that saturn award, I still can't belive she lost. The best role in AHS, she in episode 7 was something out of this world
AHS was such trash but she's great.
Ahs is one of the best shows on TV! It only became more awesome when she joined!
I read a comment somewhere that said that Kathy Bates is like America’s Judi Dench and I couldn’t agree more!
Dame Kathy Bates ❤
idk, maybe it's just me being a dumb american but i find bates more approachable.

At the start of the interview you think "Oh she is such a nice lady" and then when the 'Misery' bit starts a cold flash crawled down my spine and I was frightened for the rest of this very friendly interview. She is that good. That film broke me for good
I could listen to her talk all day. She always has wonderful things to say about others and her voice is so soothing. She's such a great actress and person. All of her roles have been awesome.
Damn she is looking GOOD. Love Kathy in so many roles
Isn't that the truth!
Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange and some of the other actors/actresses made American Horror Story insanely good.

For real, the talent on those shows are off the charts. I don’t know how he manages to cut some of them out for different seasons. I definitely think a lot of them will come up in interviews like this down the line
evan peters as well
She is extremely talented in her craft and an extremely gentle soul. Love her to bits 💜💜💜
Kathy is absolutely wonderful. Thanks for sharing that this is "play" and what a great perspective!! PS Kathy was absolutely adorable and funny in "Tammy" which was left off the timeline, as was "The Blind Side" where she played a tutor.
She's so fluid and sure of herself when she speaks. It's kinda enthralling to just hear her talk.
Such confidence. Well at the end of the day she's a lez that comes to them naturally which is very admirable
@@69op2gg1005ify0m Uh no she isn't.
Its refreshing. Most actors can be so shy when they talk and its just bizarre, she actually is so engaging. Another actor who shocked me by how engaging he is (similar to Kathy) is Jude Law.
Kathy Bates is one of the best character actresses that ever lived.
DollsAndSpooks definitely

Esteemed character actress Margo Martindale enters the chat.
She is a wonderful actress. One of those that always gives 100%. She is humble and down to earth. Looks great in this interview. One of the best.!!!
Isn’t she something. Amazing
Kathy Bates is an amazing actress. She is so humble, I think she doesn't even know how powerful she is. First time I saw her, I was so impressed by her powerful acting, that I will never will forget that. She never fails. I think, who ever has had her in their movies, should be thankful and honored because Kathy Bates in one of the very best.
I would love to see Betty White break down her career.
Annie Romero who?
Yes, but without profanity.
Denise Eggert why not tho
that will be a 2 hour video.
She would need two days 😂

Yeah such great advice. Yeah I had a great doctor like that they come around only once in a lifetime!
I feel like it would be a really, really good idea for me to buy a canvas, throw some paint on it and also write those words all over the artwork. What a fabulous doctor! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Kathy Bates is such an amazing actor, amazing woman. I’ve loved everything that she’s done that I been privileged enough to see. I hope she has many more years ahead of her! 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💕
Another favorite....'Fried Green Tomatoes'.....I always remember her line in the parking lot when the girls said 'We're younger and faster'.......her response as she's running into their car 'I'm older and have better insurance.'
I absolutely love kathy bates. I grew up watching her over and over. She was always my grandmas favorite
She is one of my mom's favorite actresses and i completely understand why. Shes so versatile and naturally hilarious but overall just such a talented and kind human being.
For someone who has intense role, she’s very calm. Her voice is soothing.
So true, I would listen to *any* audiobook that she narrates… and I hope she’s done that already…!
WHY ARENT THEY TALKING ABOUT HER ROLE IN ANNIE?! Honestly that’s how I found out about her
Nicholas Francis probably cause it wasn’t as important or they forgot
Maybe because it was a “TV MOVIE” but I do agree that movie was amazing
I prefer her Hannigan over Carol’s...full stop. I know it’s a bit sacrilegious but I never did like the original film Annie.
That Annie was my favorite one! 🙈
Because Carol Bernett did it better...
Not only a fantastic actress, but also a visionary: she's one of the first respected, Oscar-winning actresses that took the chance and worked for TV, now everybody's doing it!
She deserved the Oscar for Misery. I was 15 when I watched her on TV accepting her Oscar.
She well worked for her role. Great job. 😊 your like an Olympic athlete in acting on stage with theatre lights.
“Can I call my mother?” Best thing ever.😂💕
why do i feel like i need to cry every time she finishes a story? can i hug her
She seems like she's hurt or in pain it's sad i love her.
