    This is a fantastic, informative review. I just bought a used 2017 Touring 4 weeks ago and this video gave me much more useful information then either the salesman or the owner's manual. Clear and concise comments. I've bookmarked this video so I can return often for help with the "finer points.."Thanks, Brock, this was really a helpful and informative video.

    Have a 2018 Outback 3.6R limited in midnight blue, my daughter has a 2018 Forester limited in that black, her husband has a 2018 Forester limited in grey.
    No issues, we love them, what car company is nailing it like Subaru right now?
    Toyota? Solid but boring, Honda? Not what they used to be, Subaru? Does everything well, best in foul weather, great to drive, comfortable, stable, reliable, it's no wonder they are kicking ass right now.

    I ordered my 17' Outback Touring on Aug 5th and received it on Oct 6th. Got the Brilliant Brown. My first Subaru and I love driving this car. When it is time to replace my 12' Malibu I will get another Subaru. Great video. As a note, the memory seat control only controls the seat. Not the mirrors. Yes, the interior color is awesome. Are you sure that the Lead Vehicle Monitoring isn't for when the vehicle in front of you moves and you don't? I know that it will chime and let you know that the vehicle in front of you has moved. I agree with you on the clock and temp. The thing I have noticed is that if you have sunglasses on trying to read the temp is nearly impossible. I wish they would have used a different color or something. Great Job!

    Thank-you so much for putting this together! Saved me hours of headaches and made the car all the more wonderful!
    A couple of questions:
    1. Is there a way to keep the car in accessory mode without the engine running? Sometimes I have to wait and it's nice to listen to the radio, keep the seat heated, or run wipers.
    2. How can you keep the battery from going dead if you don't drive the car for a week at a time. Say you are backpacking and leave the car at the trailhead. Seems the fancy digital treats create ghost drain. It's happened on my 2017 more than once and I made sure there were no lights on.
    3. Is there a way to get the temperature on the rear view mirror to make it easier to find?

      I had to laugh at your post. My wife has the 2017 touring model. I drive it maybe once a month. So I don't drive it enough to really get familiar with it. The first few times I drove it I would look and look for the clock. Then I would get mad and ask her if it had a clock. It really is dumb the way they did it. My Impreza has it right where you would expect it. Same goes for our past Subaru's. Other than that insignificant thing, the car is awesome. We will not own anything but a Subaru.

    Brock, great channel! I know you sell Lexus vehicles, and I own a 2009 ls460 AWD. I love the car but would like more convenience for daily chores (dogs, kids, hauling tools, etc). I've been intrigued by the new outback and just curious what you thought of the ride, cabin noise, comfort of this outback compared to say a slightly older Lexus like mine. Should it be out of line to consider trading my LS for a new outback? What is your opinion on the quality of these new outbacks? Thanks for your time.

    • @HowToCarGuy
      @HowToCarGuy  Před 7 lety +3

      +Alain S Excellent question! The LS460 is an amazing machine and there's nothing out there quite like it. But after driving the Outback for a week I can say, for your needs (more utility, convenience, kids, life... ) this would make total sense to get. The original video I made was over an hour long because I went into more detail about the cabin and overall build quality but CZcams wouldn't accept a vid over an hour 😞 Anyways, it is VERY comfortable, functional, rugged, and luxurious. I was super-impressed. Please let me know if you have any other questions and thank you for the feedback!!

    Great car, I would not go with the 2.5 / 4 cylinder. Car is way to heavy, glad to have purchased mine with the 3.6 / 6 cylinder. Shocked that the car did not have the automatic locking doors. My 5 year old open the door while we were in Motion. Had to get use to locking the doors every time we got in. The remote start is a separate 500$ key fob. Now 70,000 miles in, its burns 1 quart of oil every 1,200 miles.

  • @gobil5274
    @gobil5274 Před 6 lety

    Any particular reason they can't include remote start in the cars fob? Having 2 FOB is stupid. Car shutting off if the door opens? I love Subi's but those are a deal breaker.
