I thought I was the only one scoring good pet food....I take as much as I can get and give to others. We dont even have a cat but I will gladly give it away...you all did good!!!

I just don't understand why the stores throw out all that food. We are in a pandemic and people are needing to feed pets and family's. I could just see how happy people would be to get just a bag of the food. God bless you both and stay safe from Corona virus. Thumbs up.

That date on the items means nothing, that is a date the Maker of the product uses as a guide for freshness I know people who pour out milk as soon as it hits that date, I drink my milk until it starts to smell sour

Found another older one I haven't watched. This is a super animal food haul Yea I am laughing so hard you throwing the oatmeal up in the air hopefully it didn't hit stacy too many times. LOL I think I would act like I did and don't cut it and if I got fired I would turn them in & sue them. That was a super amount of cat food the kitties will enjoy and love you for it. Intense dumpster dive action!
You can always write the flavor on each packet of oatmeal, store each flavor in zipper bags, and freeze them to prevent them from getting buggy. You can also use them in place of regular oatmeal in no-bake cookies to make fun flavor combinations as well. Hubby and the kids might also like fun flavored meatloaf or meatballs. :o)

Four years later.... I really like your idea of making no bake oatmeal cookies with flavored oatmeal packets. Although they didn't come from the dumpster I do have some slightly outdated oatmeal I'm gonna try this with. Thanks from rural Wisconsin!

Feed your dog or cat free for a year! Love it. The pet food industry has somehow managed to find a way to make the food more cheaply and charge sky high prices for it. Glad someone is getting the food for nothing.
Love Arizona tea. Great video and great score. Just to let you know I collect snowmen, baskets, and craft stuff. If you go back to goodwill and the wicker doll buggy is still there I will buy it from you. Oh before I forget, if you need more storage and come across dresser drawers find some thin plywood and casters fit the plywood to the drawer bottom for extra strength add a caster to each corner and you can roll them under the bed.
The Wicker doll thing is long gone unfortunately. I love the idea with the dresser drawers and the Caster wheels. That is a great idea especially considering the fact we have officially ran out of room lol. Be sure and keep an eye out for the new videos and click the Bell so you're notified as soon as they upload. That way if you see something you would like to have chances are I will still have it or be able to go back and get it.

A good tarp would be a good investment to cover things in the truck when it rains. It could also be used to hide whatever you don't want people to see.

You guys are great! Love watching your videos! My son and I are going to start going diving. He has to heal first he broke his arm 2 weeks ago and has s late and 6-8 screws in it. He gets his cast on in a week. He gets his stitches out Tuesday (9/3). So after he heels we are going. Not as many dumpsters around us but we are going to go. We have gotten stuff from our family dollar dumpster in the past.

It makes me mad with ao many people hungry out there that they are destroying stuff that could fill a person's belly. I wish there was something we could do stop that
I think we are doing something to stop it. Dumpster diving is more popular than it has ever been and I strongly believe that is because of CZcams. The more and more people learn about dumpster diving, the more new dumpster divers we recruit! The more divers there are the less stuff that goes to waste!
Unfortunately, we live in a lawsuit crazy world and manufacturers and our government set these dates extra early in order to protect themselves. Plus, people leave behind any fruits or vegetables that don't look perfect or are even a touch wilted, so stores just throw those things out. when a good wash, trim of the ends and a soak in cold water would have them in peak condition! Years ago I worked for a short while at a food bank and even the people who came for free food complained if things were even close to that use by date!
It's the insurance companies that insist that products written off have to be totally un usable. Some peole obey.
Because there are people out there looking for quick easy money that will sue the pants off stores or businesses for damaged foods. Divers are the best option until law makers change the laws, if you get it for free and are told where it comes from it's covered by a Good Samaritan law. I have been at food trucks where people who claim they don't have money to buy food will bi-ch up one side and down the other, if anything is out of date, and some will complain about not having enough choices on fresh produce or bakery type foods. I have eaten canned vegetables 5 years past their expiration date because I lost track of some stuff and it was still fine. Yeah it might have lost some nutritional value but when you don't have enough to eat??? People in America are spoiled rotten over the choices we have! Try going to some third world countries where the poor are literally digging in dumps and eating whatever they find! Even if it has spoilage showing because they are that hungry!! There's no welfare in those countries to help them.

We marked it down at Kmart and put it at the front of the store so coumsters could see it, plus the state i live the grocey stores donate the food that's about to go out of date to the local food banks

Have you thought about talking to the Head Office of the stores to see if they would be willing to divert the soon-to-be-expired food products to Food Banks or other organizations. Alternatively, you could start a petition on Change.org to compel them to change.
An assistant manager told me that they don't want to give expired food to any humans in case it makes them sick or something -- or even lets someone falsely claims it made them sick.
I guess it's different if people just take it from the trash on their own responsibility instead of the store actually serving it to someone.
That is in addition to the financial problem of "giving away for free" any products that you want to sell for money.
I don't think corporate America wants to participate to be honest. I feel as if they like the idea that they can toss whatever they want bc they still get paid for it thru write offs....its all said and ridiculous. I personally donate to several families from what I salvage so i feel like i make a difference as well as other dd who also share their wealth with others. Ik we don't save everything but I think we all try
My mother in law used basket and would fill them with fruit and snacks when someone was in the hospital. It was a basket filled full of goodies and everyone loved getting them.

Cat food is usually higher in protein. The higher protien is what can effect your dogs liver and kidneys long term or again it may cause GI upset. If not long term it shouldn't hurt your dogs. If your dogs have sensitive stomachs it may upset their stomachs and bowels. From what I've seen though your dogs are used to a varied diet. I wish my little potato dog wasn't so darn sensitive lol. Great scores guys, such wastage in the US, that animal food could have been donated to animal shelters but instead they dump it - that just doesn't make sense. Great you guys found it, at least your pets get fed 🙂
Before we started doing this I had no idea what kind of waste we were dealing with in the US. What you see on our video is a couple of towns and one state. The stuff we find on a small scale amazes me. It's hard to imagine what the total might be for the entire country.

Oatmeal is a good shelf life for SHTF storage
We saved about a trash bag full of oatmeal and it has fed quite a few people now! Pretty dang cool.

Most employees don’t destroy the stuff,
If I was ordered to do it, I don't think I would be able to. Growing Up we didn't have a whole lot and we knew what it was like to go without. I can't in good faith leave the stuff behind when I come across it knowing that there is someone out there who is doing without.
Some employees will text their friends and give them a heads up alert to when good stuff is being put in the dumpsters as well.
Just sad the waste in our society.
It is very sad. When you think of how many hungry people there are out there. And this is not an uncommon sight. We see this all the time it's happening all over the country. It's disgraceful.

My family does this and when we get feed like cattle sweet feed as long as you read the ingredients you'll be fine to mix it in the food and it helps them gain a healthy amount of weight on rescues

I almost lost my job because I refused to ruin clothes,shoes etc. sent me to manager and he said he could fire me ,I said go ahead I like my job but in all but my conscience won't because of all the needy people. It could be donated..he said NO cuz people will try to return it for money... They never called me for destroying merchandise again !
I've heard managers make all kinds of excuses. The bottom line is there is definitely a better option than paying an employee to sit there for 3 hours and cut up clothes into tiny pieces. You are a good person for refusing to do so. I wouldn't be able to do it either. We didn't have a lot growing up, much of the stuff we needed we didn't have. So when I see something like that being deliberately destroyed and puts a bad taste in my mouth.
When I had to live in a shelter with my kids due to domestic violence.They had donated clothes boxes we all got to pick thru.It used to piss me off how some of the clothes had slashes thru them how can you go on interviews and such with that? The more sensible stores would cut out the labels/tags at the neckline. That was so much better than the ones with the slashes you have to be creative at concealing.

the stores in my town put theres in a compactor so i drive 30 minutes away to dive. it had been a few weeks but i went 2 nights ago. aldi had a delivery truck blocking their dumpsters so didnt get to go there. Burlingtons put a lock on theirs the greedy ******s. Michael's now has a lock. HEB Walgreens and Walmart compact theirs. CVS was empty. so i wasted expensive gas for nothing. oh but i did scoop up some dog food at petsmarts since i remembered to bring a box with me.

That tub dog food has to be refrigerated because it has raw stuff in it. If it’s warm you better ditch it. It says on the label keep refrigerated

Yes the oatmeal is still getting eaten! Almost two months later I think LOL. We saved it in 8 it haha. I sorely wish I could find pet food like that! I'm lucky to get a small bag or 5-6 cans of pet food. I find mostly dog food and I only have a cat. I give the dog food to my neighbors or to someone in my Bible study group.

When you work for a company like Walmart for say you do as you are told or get in the food stamp line that is why we do it
